Wait... people don't actually use this as lube do they?

Sorry, I just can't imagine! Or are you talking about for consumption? I sometimes put coconut oil on the ends of my hair to keep it soft.

Of course as lube! LOL! It's the only natural lube that I would really trust...no yucky chemicals at all! It's fabulous and smells great!

Anyway...so seriously. Coconut oil as a lubricant. Is this okay when TTC?

I have used coconut oil twice as a lube (when not in a fertile phase, just in case) and both times I got a blocked Bartholin gland, just FYI - be careful!

Wow. Weird! I've been using it for quite some time with great results. Crazy.

Thanks the warning

My hubby and I are ttc and use coconut oil when needed. It is awesome, all natural, and very lubricating. It is also an anti fungal so shouldn't cause infection. I have been searching for someone who has conceived using it and still haven't found anyone. We are only on our second cycle trying, five days until period is due.joy.gif

I'm not TTC but I saw this thread as I checked the new posts. I *love* coconut oil as lube. We tend to use it even when its not truly needed, DH is addicted lol. I honestly could not see how it could possibly kill sperm. It would seem to me to make the area more sperm friendly. I might Google it tho...

Haha!  This is such an old thread that I didn't realize I was the one who started it when I got the update in my inbox.  :)  As an update.....we've been using coconut oil and just got pregnant while using it.  So....it was apparently okay :)
