Hi, everyone! I've been very absent, so I need to do a lot of catching up. We decided a few months ago that we were going to stop TTC, pretty much before we got started in earnest, because it just seemed like so much was happening to prevent it that it wasn't meant to be. I thought that was it, and was oddly okay with it. For a few months, anyway.

But then, all of a sudden, I wasn't. An email from someone who thought we were still looking to adopt made me realize we needed to try again. We're doing a donor insemination this weekend.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I did a tofu turkey, and it rocked. I need to go to bed now before the leftovers start calling to me.

Hi Amanda, nice to see you!

We went to my sister and BILs for Thanksgiving in October and my parents were visting from Vancouver. I just contributed a salad since BIL loves to cook. They had turkey, I just ate the veggies and ate lentil soup before I went over.

Its a no-go, or maybe I should say no-O. grrr. I thought I was finally having regular cycles. Oh well, at least this means I probably won't be ovulating while we are out of town for Christmas (unless this cycle goes that long). Hope you all had a great weekend.

I was supposed to O Saturday or today, and it's not going to happen. : Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe this will be the first irregular cycle I've had in months.

Hope everyone else has better luck.

the sudden stress of the insemination may have delayed it. I hope you o soon.

well, I should have spotted yesterday but I didn't. maybe maca and wheatgrass evened out my hormones? so I'm thankful for that. I am still expecting my period today, as usual, since I am very aware of my parts, which is a usual sign. I wouldn't get excited until 14dpo. I have never reached that one, so...

oceane, I hope it isn't just the maca and wheatgrass.

As I'm catching up, I'm noticing how much smaller our crowd has gotten, and there's a pregnant vegan thread. Woohoo!

My cervix is moving on up, so that's promising. I ordered another thermometer and talked to the dogs about how important it is that they stop looking under my pillow for things to chew. I can't believe they made me miss temping this week. I guess I could have driven all over looking for one locally, but with the holidays and my usually-very-reliable cycle, I didn't think I'd need it. Oh well. I ordered some other stuff in anticipation of inseminating again next month, knowing that between the holidays and the stress of the DI itself, I may not O this month. I'm sure next month will be much less stressful, right?

Thanks, yes, any day...but I've never ovulated later than day 18, and I have none of my usual signs. I'm not giving up on this month yet, though.

veganmama, this is probably the only time I can wholeheartedly say YES to feeling yucky and sick! great to hear you're body seems to be cooperating!

please don't get my hopes up yet! I have sore breasts, and I checked my cycle history, I did have 12 day lps before, even a 13 day lp once. though I spotted before AF every time. I try so hard to not get excited yet.

I just don't know what to think! I'm pretty bummed that I didn't O on time. Makes me wonder if the last 2 "normal" cycles were just a coincidence. Funny thing is, the last time I had 2 same cycles in a row was last year in september and october. They were 31 days, same as sept and oct this year. Weird. I called my accupunturist today to see what she thinks about my not ovulating last week as we expected, waiting for her to call me back.
I had another heart to heart with dh last night (translated: I balled my eyes out and dh had to listen to me blubber about babies and ovulating and foster parenting and inlaws and christmas and ...). It is crazy the things that go thru your head after ttc for 15 months. I am starting to wonder if I will even be able to enjoy it when I do finally get pg. I am feeling a little better today though, work is a good distraction.
Thanks for reading all this! Hope you had a good monday, are things calming down for you now that your kids are back with their normal caregiver, or is work still crazy?

ETA: speaking of charts, oceane it is 10pm (in Germany I think) at 12dpo. That is a very good sign, either for your cycles improving or ... :

Oh, Snow~Pea, Christmas and in-laws are bad enough without the sensitive feelings of TTC--I feel for you. I think everyone feels that way. Certain of my in-laws are often in danger of having me claw their eyes out.

sukilove, those times have always worked best for me.

I have slippery CM, mild achiness in the right spot, and swimmers on standby for tomorrow night. We may actually get this done. :

hi sukilove, well, sounds like good timing actually moving to oregon is awesome and having a whole house to yourself, too. lots of space for baby. welcome back!

snow~pea, I hope your acupuncurist has some good advice for you. I am so sorry you had a (very understandable) breakdown, hopefully you feel better letting it all out. your cm is getting fertile again. your body can do this!

hi preggos! and catherine you're the only active grad right now, am I right?

vegAmanda, good luck! FINALLY

AAM: who am I kidding, I am hopeful. should I buy a test?

oceane, your chart is looking great!!! And you know what, even if you aren't PG this cycle (and it looks like you might be!), your cycle is REALLY improving!

SnowPea, big hugs to you. I know how frustrated you must be. It is hard when it takes awhile. This was my 16th cycle. Hopefully it is your turn very soon!

VegAmanda, good luck! Welcome back sukilove!

what day did you all test? the husband has forbidden me to test before 18dpo. I'll secretly buy one at 16dpo I guess. I just hate negatives. but yes, a 13 day lp and no spotting is a good sign for my cycles. yay.

another to snow pea.

oceane, I usually test on 15 DPO because that is the day AF is due and my temp always dips that day or even the day before.
I have been known to test at 14 DPO.
IMHO, 18 DPO is cruel and unusual punishment.
