Hi everyone! Hoping I can join in. I had dropped by this board months ago after a second trimester loss and have been lurking/reading off and on since then, but would really like to join you guys.

I am 41. Got pregnant in March, but unfortunately lost our little girl because of a fatal chromosomal issue that didn't become evident until our amnio results came back. We lost her on July 4th and have been trying since...I was almost 19 weeks along.

I am currently 9dpo and trying to keep optimistic, but am finding it harder as each cycle passes by. It is hard knowing that at the end of this month we were supposed be welcoming home our baby, and here I am still not pregnant and worried we won't be lucky enough to catch a good egg. I don't feel old, but the stats out there don't help boost one's hopes.

Anyway I am still trying to hope for the best and to believe it will happen, it is just hard some days.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Halifax - Welcome! I am so sorry for your loss! I was pregnant earlier in the year and had a very early loss. My EDD was this Friday. I know it's hard but we just keep on trying. It's the only way we have a chance of succeeding! BTW, I am 8dpo so we are cycle buddies!

Hi Karen, sorry about your loss as well. I do agree, all we can do is keep trying and try to keep positive. Best of luck to both of us this cycle! :-)

Halifax and Karen, welcome to you both, and of course, so sorry to hear of your losses. Hopefully you'll see some great baby making successes here over the next year.

AFM, I s/w my RE's office today, and since my last day 3 FSH test was 5.8, they suggested that I try to stim w/my own eggs. I'm actually thinking about it, but would have to start next cycle, since I"m CD 7 or something like that now. (Need to have a follicle exam on CD3). Am I crazy? Much greater likelihood of chromosomal defects at 44 - pushing 45. I guess the folly scan can't hurt, right?

i found how to link my chart at the bottom but it told me i could only have one picture or icon on my sig, but i see all kinds on everyones, so i dont know how to over ride that restriction... hhmm. but maybe since i have not ovulated yet, and since today i was a horror to be around and my right side was sore all day, i 'made' ha ha, dh go dance, he's sleeping now. what a guy!! so maybe we will be ovulating quite late in the cycle? we will see. plus this is only 1st month charting and it really is all over the place, i take my temp at same time orally in the am about 730 each day. i try my best to do nothing but roll over and get the therm and take it. it saves the last one done so i can lie right back down or roll back over and wake up slowly if i want. so that does not seem to be the problem?? it may just be a slow starter-upper after all that bc pill taking! we will see. now i am itchy to take the preg test! no patience at all in this house! thanks all, and i will try to be on this thread now. i guess this is the winter one?? just as long as we all succeed with whatever we want, no worries. thanks and let me know how to override my signature restrictions to only one fun character on my page! B

Welcome Halifax40. I am also 41 and I have had 2 losses this year. One in Feb and one in August. They were earlier than yours though. I am so sorry.
Are you in Halifax? I am in Ottawa.

MsGBs, I think it is worth a shot. You have insurance through next fall to try donor ED right?

Hello to all the other ladies, I hope you all get your sticky BFPs soon.

Me: 10 DPO and temps are strangely high. I am almost wondering if my thermometer is brokern. Starting to feel crampy so I am hoping I am not going to have a short LP (typical for me for a few cycles after m/c).

Me (42), DH (41), DD (7), DS1 (5) and DS2 Aug 02/09

I'l like to join, will you have me? I don't quite fit into the 30-something threads...I'm 39.5+ and TTC#2 (#1 is almost 9) -- tonight is my positive OPK, and I and CD 12. Just finished first round of 50mg clomid day 5-9, some problems there for a while, looking really good, body taking well to the meds.

Feeling good physically, hope this is the month! So, I'm now in the 2WW, I suppose!

I am terribly sorry for your loss Halifax40. I have passed one of my due dates and it was sad.

MsGBs, its a risk, but certainly worth it ... you can get started right away, non?

Welcome Ompath!

Me, possibly 1 day past ovulation! I had a temp dip yesterday and rise today. In fact, my chart is looking pretty textbookish : after a long run of quirks. My partner is visiting right now, so we were able to try, finally! My patience was nearing its end (last attempt was in Aug.).

Ompath - Welcome!!

Is there anyway that we can add a link to the old thread in our front page? Just wondering!

msgoodbuns - (Cute screen name! ) No, you're not crazy to try with your own eggs! Yes, in your 40's the early m/c rate is higher but if you make it out of the first trimester then at your age you have 95% chance of giving birth to a perfectly healthy baby!

Bryn - I should be able to explain how to add your chart to the siggy because I just did it but since I have only done it once, by following the instructions that someone posted (Toni maybe), I don't want to give you misinformation! It sounds like you are temping properly. I used to have really rocky charts and I think it was because I am a mouth breather. I finally switched to vaginal temping (the thought of it freaked me out at first) and now my charts are MUCH better. Great job for getting DH to DTD last night! Hope you caught the eggie! Now start reading that book!

Vegan - Sorry about your losses. Let's hope that those "strangely high" temps mean you'll be getting you in a few days!! :

Sunride - VERY nice temp rise! How far away does your partner live and how often to you two get together? Three months is a loooonnnnggg time to wait!

BHappy - : Sounds like good timing!

Hi everyone! Have the day off today (I am a nurse so my work schedule isn't a nice predictable Monday to Friday). So glad to see the bright sun here today, but the temps have dropped a bit, we had it unseasonably mild the past few days.

msgoodbuns - You are not crazy. Given your good FSH number and that your RE feels it is worth a try, I admit that if it were me, I would have to give it a go with my own eggs, just in case! Yes there is a greater risk of problems but the the odds are still very much in your favor of having a healthy pregnancy. Sure can't hurt to see what the follicle scan reveals. Best of luck!

my other age is 34 - I think you only get to use multiple icons is you have signed up for the paying membership....

veganmama - Thanks, and I am so sorry about your losses! Yes, I am in Halifax...the 40 was my age when I signed up on here for the pregnancy boards, it was hard to start frequenting the TTC boards. I am 10dpo today, so we are pretty much at the same point in our wait. I hope your higher temps are a good sign!

ompath - Thanks and best of luck this cycle!

SunRise - Thanks! Glad that you were able to try this cycle...goodness such long times in between must be hard!

BHappy - Best of luck!!

Welcome to all the newbies. May your stay here be short and productive.

Msgoodbuns with that FSH level and insurance until next fall. I would be asking when can I start. I say go for it! Maybe I am wrong but don't they screen for genetic abnormalities with IVF?

My other age is 34 the number of icons in your siggie is dependent upon your post count.

AFM I am 4 dpo, after o'ing on day 11 grrrr was hoping for a day 13 o date. So not very hopeful this month. Just waiting for next month to hope for a better o date. Oddly tearful for no reason today, not sure what is up with this. I had a few days like this last month as well. I don't know if it's hormones or what?

Wishing everyone success in their journeys and peacful thoughts to those dealing with difficult days ahead.

Thank you for the new thread, Laurie! It looks terrific!

Welcome to the new ladies... it is always nice to have more wonderful women join us on this journey.

I miss a day because I was working really hard and there is a whole new thread with new people! My head is spinning! LOL

Just trying to stay positive here. If nothing else, at least this cycle is much better than my last, very abrupt one. Though I am feeling a bit off and I don't think it is because of illness. I will just have to wait and see. If my cycle is back to normal, AF should be here in about 3 days. If not,... :

Here's the instructions I posted in the last thread about how to link a chart in your signature:

Quote:
You need to go to your link near the top of the page that says User CP. Once there, you can choose to edit your signature. Choose the chart smilie (you'll need to click the "MORE" link so you can see them all. They will pop up in a separate window). Once the code for the chart is in your signature, highlight it and choose the "insert link" from the top of the edit box. It looks like a world with a chain link near it. A box will pop up that you can put in the URL for your chart page on Fertility Friend or Ovusoft.

It sounds complicated, but it really isn't.
That way no one has to go digging for the old one. And for some reason MDC limits the amount of smilies in your signature until you've posted X amount of times.

I am not sure if I Od yet. I had full ferning on my scope on yesterday and we DTD the day before. DH left on his business trip that day too so the next BD opportunity will be on Thursday night/Friday morning which is cd 14 & 15 which maybe too late for me I usually ovulate on day 10, 11, or 12 I'll have to wait and see what my scope says by then. I am not temping.

Karen - I have tested a little early a few times, however I have decided to stop doing that. I figure for the sake of a few days I would rather just have AF arrive or hopefully get a nice BFP that I don't have to squint at than spend money on tests that could easily give a false neg if I test too early or (though I have never had one myself) an evap to get my hopes up if I am not pregnant. But that is just me...some women have great luck testing early and for some it reduces their stress to do so...I just feel better about waiting now.

i've been around and checking in often but no time to post, you know how it goes. please put me under "hopeful" / TTC. thanks. i started here in the summer version, then was here for fall, now it's winter. i made sure we DTD during my fertile time, but it was 5+ days of EWCM and we did it on day 2. sure hope the sperm stayed alive long enough for the egg to get there, supposedly they do, but DH is 57, don't sperm sometimes decrease in quality with age. anyway, i'm hopeful that one of these months will be a winner. i have not lost hope at all. the trick is timing for us. he works a split shift that has him up at 3:30 a.m., home at 9 a.m., back at 2:30 and then home for the night at 8 p.m. and we have a very very active 2.5 year old, who is tough to get to nap, so our only real "window of opportunity" tends to be saturday nights, as other evenings DH really does have to get his power sleep in, and sometimes i like to nap while DD naps during the day (and DH takes a 2 hour nap, too).

one question i would have for everybody TTC, is it just me, or do you also feel less horny/motivated for sex when it's *not* that precious "window of opportunity"/fertile time? is this just me? (i am nursing a 2.5 year old who is wearing me out physically- maybe this accounts for the less than high libido), i dunno, what do you think?
