Wow, you're on bcp's for 2 full cycles? Why is that? I am feeling the guilt today about the toll that TTC #2 has taken on #1. How many days is it okay to let her watch so much TV because I am too bitchy to do much with her? Ack.

yes two - my normal cycles are so long (40-45days), so I guess the doc thought doing two cycles would be better than one?!? Not too sure but whatever works!

ha ha about the tv.........I say whatever keeps you sane and not snappy!!

Ooh, yay for stimming CRM!!! I always feel better at the beginning of stims - I finally feel like I'm doing something at that point!

AFM, I had my last beta today. Things are finally back to zero. So now I'm just waiting for AF so that I can start BCPs and then wait for another AF. Whoopie!

The waiting sucks, doesn't it? I am so sorry that your pg did not go ahead, but glad for you that things are more clear now. Hope that makes sense. I remember one poor woman posting on here and it took weeks for her beta to get back down to zero, it was torture. I have had one early m/c and one chemical pregnancy, I really feel for you right now. I hope you are taking care. Will you be able to cycle again right away or do you need to take a month off? Is the bcp month a month "off" for you?

CRM - Good luck stimming! I wouldn't worry too much about the tv. Just focus on how thrilled she will be with a sibling. (I suppose I should qualify that by admitting that my dd watched 3 movies over the last two days. : I'm just tired.)

For those of you that have been on bcp's for your cycles - how long after you finished your pack of pills, did it take to get your period?? I'm just curious because I finished mine on Saturday and haven't gotten it yet I just want to get on with it already!! lol

It always takes me a few days (this time finished bcps on Tues, AF arrived Sunday). But I am on suppression as well, which affects things. The waiting is so annoying, isn't it? Did my first injection this morning..... Eieieieieie.

So, when will you be starting stims, another 4 weeks or so? The injections are no biggie for me, but this will be my third IVF and the HUGE grapefruit sized ovaries are no joke. Buy some baggie pants or shorts now!

I start my Puregon 22IU on August 7th, so about three more weeks!!! I'm not looking forward to the huge ovaries, but if it works then it'll all be worth it in the end! I did stock up on stretchy shorts, capri's and pants........I think I'm all set........hopefully

You know what they say - Third times a charm - so I'm sending lots of good vibes your way!! Did they change your protocol for this cycle? or is it the same as the previous two??

sorry for all the questions!!

Yes, it has been pretty quiet around here. I'm glad you're posting too, so I'm not talking to myself. You sound so positive and organized, that's awesome!

I will be following the same protocol. My first IVF cycle gave us I think 13 eggs. I got pg and had an early m/c with the fresh cycle and had one FET which resulted in my dd (no other eggs made it).

So last summer I did another cycle to TTC#2, and it was the same protocol, but at one point they had me up my dose of Gonal F (to speed the growth of the eggs), then my estradial when sky high and I had to "coast" with no meds for a million years. Which was only a day or two, can't remember, but it was hell. I was so worried that the cycle would be cancelled. We got 25 eggs, 21 fertilized, 13 frozen. With the fresh cycle I had a chemical pg, and then we did 3 FET's - all BFN's.

I still have 2 embies frozen, but I met with my RE and we decided to do another IVF, as I am getting older and couldn't face the thought of another 2 months of meds with the possibility of the last two embies not even surviving the thaw and/or another BFN. So this cycle, I will argue fiercely if they want to up my dose (RE made a note in my chart NOT to, and to see my first cycle results in 2005). He and I both kind of wonder if those amazing 25 eggs were not as good somehow due to the med change and my crazy estradial (even though the research says it "should" have been the same outcome). I don't mind questions, hope you don't mind the novel you got back!!

Hope you are doing okay and eating lots of veggies! :

Okay, now I'm talking to myself. Feeling bloated, like "god did I suddenly gain a bunch of weight?" and finally realized it's the drugs, even though it's only day 5 of injections. Wow. How's everyone doing?

Jumping in here, I have only read the last couple of pages.

CRM - I hope they can get your protocol corrected. From what I hear coasting is no fun.

I am on BCP's right now. I will turn 40 this August, in fact, if its timed right we will do the transfer on my birthday. I lost my sheet telling me my plans but as of right now I will go in on Thursday the 23rd for an ultrasound, and then stop bcp's on Saturday. Then start Lupron. I will be on Follistem 450/Luveris100iu and see what happens. The last time in May I didn't respond at all, but I have changed me eating habits (failed this past week), been doing accupuncture and positive imagery.

Has anybody tried the positive imagery by Anjionline.com? I love them!

crm - I don't mind the novel at all......it's actually nice to read!!

I think what you're doing is smart........even if you already have frozen embies.....better to do a fresh cycle, that way you're all set!! I agree with you about the drugs and them not up'ing your dose....clearly your estradial was through the roof last time....they better listen to you!!!!

You're doing great!! I can't believe your already on day 5!! yahoo: I'm so excited for you. The bloating is expected - but I think it's worse in the summer because it's harder to hide!!! You have a great positive attitude though and that'll carry you through no problem! I only hope I'm that positive once I start my injections!

I'm doing pretty good, started my bcp's today and will remain on them for another 15 days...........it seems odd that I'm only on them for a total of sixteen days...have you ever heard of that? This birth control gives me crazy headaches and I feel so darn moody!! Thank goodness for a patient hubby!!

Happilyblessed - Best of luck with this cycle, I'm crossing my fingers for you!!! It would be so neat if you did the transfer on your birthday and got pregnant - what a great story to tell your future son/daughter

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oh boy, officially joining you all!

So after 3 m/c and surgery because my endo came back we're now ready to go. I start Lupron next Tuesday, July 28th.

Mini-freak out here.

We've been planning this for 3 months but to finally get a date....FINALLY!....just kinda unreal.

what if it doesn't work?

Christy - isn't it odd how much we stress about getting the official "date" to start and then when we do - we freak out!?!? I have gone through the same with my worries and questions.......what if it doesn't work, or what if I over-stim? what if this and what if that!?!?!? It drives me nuts...........but I've started taking a more calmer approach (after driving my husband nuts I'm sure!! lol) I just take it one day at a time..........and if it doesn't work, then we try again.........and if after 3 cycles, we still haven't become pregnant - then we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I just try and remain positive and busy - because IVF consumes me when I'm not doing something!

Just try to stay positive - we're all here to help eachother! I wish you nothing but good luck and a beautiful baby in nine months!

Good work on the attitude, Tami. You'll need it once your cycle starts, there is so little predictability! I am on day 7 of stims, went for b/w on Sat and today. The day of b/w they call in the afternoon to tell me whether or not to change my doses (holding steady so far so I haven't had to argue with them yet ). Then today they say I have to be back for b/w on Thursday, but they don't know if I'll be in again on Friday or Saturday and no idea yet when ER will be, could be Sun, Mon or Tues. And my dh needs to make sure he has ejaculated 3 to 5 days before ER, so he needs a bit of predictability, too!! So I can't plan anything. We are blessed with a 3 year old and we'll need childcare, but we don't discuss our IF with anyone and we don't know yet what day it'll be! And omg, am I bloated!!!! I should have had more hot weather "fat clothes" organized!

Btw, where are you in Canada? Is it hot there? I am guessing it's pretty hot in Nevada!

If any experienced IVF'ers are lurking, should I stock up on Gatorade? What is it's purpose again? Should I start drinking it now since I'm bloated or wait til ER or? And does anyone know of a natural replacement? The ingredient list is so gross on that stuff.

Hi just lurking...

Gatorade - horrible stuff, but it really does make a difference - I didn't stick to the 2-3L a day this time, and I did suffer. The days I downed enough, I felt better. I got OHSS this time and I wouldn't be surprise if my nonchalance about it all was the reason why. I don't know if there are any natural alternatives - you can probably find some - it's the electrolytes in Gatorade that makes it work - the salts etc. You can't get that in water.

I did start drinking it once I started feeling the bloat, but I think it's MOST important after ER and onwards.

Good luck to everyone - I don't post much but I read every day!

CRM - Wow, you seem to be so close already, at least to me as an observer. If you search the threads with OHSS in the title, I think you'll find some homemade alternatives to gatorade. That bloat is awful, take it easy.

Tami - I just wanted to say that my clinic required a minimum of 14 days of bcp, no more was necessary. Most cycles I ended up with closer to 20 days, but one cycle I did the minimum, or close to it. Regardless, it worked, but I do think af was delayed by a day of two.

All - Here's tons of peaceful, sane vibes as you cycle : :

Try SmartWater. Its supposed to work just as well.[/QUOTE]

I here you on the un-predictability of everything! When we were doing IUI, we timed it wrong and my hubby ejaculated the night before our IUI!! Ohhhh the ups and downs of infertility huh!?!

I am in the sunny Okanagan, B.C.......it gets VERY hot where we are - although we moved here from Vancouver, B.C. where it rained ALL the time, so maybe it's just me being a wimp - thank goodness for air conditioning though!!!

Hope you're doing well today!

Thanks for the feedback, I was hoping you grads were lurking! Are we talking 2-3L of Gatorade per day or just 2-3L of fluids? I can't even drink Gatorade without diluting it, there's no way I could choke down liters of it. Did your clinic tell you to start drinking it pre-ER or did you just figure it made sense (which it does)? How are you feeling these days anyway?

Thank you, I will look into that.

All - Here's tons of peaceful, sane vibes as you cycle : :
May there be lots of Spring babies in this group.
Thanks, good idea. It seems like it's gone pretty fast to me too, except for the last couple of days. I am having to sit down like I'm in my 3rd trimester, so uncomfortable. First u/s tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to see how many are in there. And how big.

I'm doing okay, my dd just passed out in front of the TV, making me a slacker mom who now doesn't have to guide her through bedtime routine. We get through it how we can, right? How are you feeling? Still on the iron?

mama to two DD's, 7 and 3 (3 rounds of IVF and more FET's than I can remember)

I think in a perfect world, they wanted 3L of fluids, 2 of which were Gatorade. They specifically said "don't tank up on water because it's not going to help you". When I got OHSS they also said "eat chips". I guess the salt helps. So maybe you could trade some Gatorade for chips LOL.

In my intake package they said to start drinking more fluids once stims started, working up to the 2-3L per day, but obviously more important after the ER.

I'm feeling... lucky Typical first trimester complaints, but you know it pales in comparison...

Good luck to you all!! fingers crossed for LOTS of spring IVF babies
