Had IUI done last week after clomid (yucky nausea, dizziness and crying jags )

The procedure was simple enough and the doc is very nice. I lay on the exam table after, staring at the poster of redwoods affixed to the ceiling and having a mellow, spiritual experience, thinking of the potential creating a new life.

Insurance covers no IF treatment at all so I got ready to pay at reception. I had been quoted $171 for the procedure and was thrilled, because I thought we would be able to do it a few times. The receptionist asked for $671 and my heart sank. She hadn't mentioned that there is a $500 fee for processing the sample!!!!!

I'm so pissed!

That's really uncool that they would leave out $500. I'm sorry!

Wow. My doc quoted me 67.00 for IUI and I was sure that if it comes to that then I could definately afford to do that until I finally gave up. I'll have to ask about processing.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, but thanks for letting us know!

Ugh! That's horrible! Something similar happened when we were using a big RE office. It's a very rough way to start the TWW s

unless i had seen the 500 charge in writing somewhere before they did it, i would fight it. washing sperm usally costs 40 bucks or so, what did they do for 500 bucks?!!! freezing sperm doesnt even cost that much!!
