Maurine - Those numbers sound great... not that I know what is good or not good, but anyways, it seems good from what you have researched at least.

AFM - I'm still waiting to hear from my RE's office about my U/S and blood work from this morning. Kinda a pain doing all this in two different places, but such is life. I do know that i have one follie that is 10.5 and like 4 others that are just under 10 so i'm not sure if that is good or bad. Kinda worries me a bit that there is one so much bigger than the others, but who knows if the 4 under 10 might be at 9... that would make me feel a little better. There i go... over analyzing!! So now I just wait for them to call me. The one nurse that I've been dealing with and absolutely love is off today so thankfully she said if I didn't hear anything by 4pm to call them. I just hope that the monitoring place here sent all the stuff over to them in time b/c if not, I don't think i'll be able to get a hold of them now. We will see.

After 5 failed IUI's & 6 failed IVF's we threw in the towel w/ ART and then got a NATURAL miracle BFP! Hoping and praying it is finally our take home baby!  Mother to our twins boys in heaven -lost at 22.5wks on 6/20/09 and 1 other little angel in heaven.

I forgot to ask on my last post if anyone know how much over-fill is in the follistim pens. I remember that they are over-filled, but I forget by how much. TIA!!!

Hi Ladies! I so can't give a response right now that does you ladies credit, but I thought I'd chime in on the numbers fun. My estrogen was at 92, and it was at 17 on Thursday. I've been told by my RE that they want to see it about double in two days. I had something like 11-13 follicles that were smaller than 10mm, with four of them being the biggest at 6-8mm. They're lowering my dose to 150 Gonal and 75 menopur, and I go back in on Wednesday. They say that the high dose at the beginning is to recruit follicles, then they pull back and try to grow the ones they have. I'm also trying to take the relaxed approach this time and just trust what they say: they have earned my trust with our IUIs. Sending good vibes to all my IVF miracle ladies!

Awesome numbers Tear.

Does anyone knows anything about citrotide?

ETA: I just realized I'm doing an antagonist cycle, wish my doctor would have taken the time to explain it instead of having to find out on the internet, oh well. I guess it's shorter and less shots so that's a good thing, Maurine I see you are doing an antagonist cycle as well, I'll be watching you

Fun to hear everyones' numbers!

Tear - Your numbers sound right on track. That's interesting about recruitment. My last (cancelled) IVF cycle we started as IUI and I took 100 of follistim the first 4 days (over a weekend) until we decided to convert. This makes me wonder how many follicles I will have starting at a higher dose of Follistim/Menopur...exciting!
I had 12-14 follicles when we cancelled cycle (day of trigger).
I would be thrilled to have even more!

Take care and good night!

Keria - I believe cetrotide is similar to ganirelix. They're both GnRH antagonists and prevent the pituitary gland from secreting Lutenizing hormone and causing ovulation. You start them mid-way into the stimulation phase of IVF meds.

Sounds like things are going well! Oh, I envy you. I almost never trust my doctors fully. I am attempting not to second-guess but it's so hard!

The short time-frame so far is really nice! I am glad to hear you'll be on a similar protocol. ! My doctor also didn't tell me what protocol I was on. Now I know!

I had another u/s today (day 7 of stims). I have two follies, one on the right at 13 and one on the left at 12.5 and others under 10. Now I am starting to worry about things not working. I am on a really low dose of only 150 Menopur (plus ganirelix). My guess is that they will either up my dose, or we start talking about converting to IUI. Of course, I am catastrophising. Sorry to subject all of you to my crazy. I think my DH is tired of hearing it.

OK, I think the hormones are starting to effect me. At a meeting over the weekend my voice wasn't being heard (I didn't get a chance to go over some things before the meeting broke). Anyway, I was just sitting here at my desk reflecting on it, and pow, out come the tears. Oh boy, this is going to be a tough next few days!

Aw, shucks, thanks! So they are upping my dose to 225 menopur and the ganirelix. Nurse told me all was well and not to worry. My estrogen is 375. Another u/s tomorrow (lucky me!...I am so tired! :yawning).

Maurine - good to hear that they are changing your dose! Hope your U/S this morning went well.

Tear - I think you have an U/S this morning too don't you? Hope it went well!!!

AFM - this jump in my dose from 300 to 450 must be doing something b/c I can feel my ovaries doing something down there. Next U/S is tomorrow so we will see how they look. The nurse initially thought our retrieval/transfer would end up being somewhere between the 9th-12th of Nov. We will see.

How's everyone else doing?

Waiting to read the good news from the your U/Ss Maurine and Tear

When is your next U/S blueyezz?

I'm just waiting for AF, actually if AF doesn't not show up this week my RE will make me skip this cycle, apparently she likes to have everyone on the same schedule which I think is silly they should work around my schedule, if AF does not show I'll have to take BCP to get on her schedule, I do have some good news it looks like I will be getting my meds for free, they told me bring a cooler with Ice on Friday, so that is awesome.

blueyezz4 - Glad to hear your numbers are good! We're probably going to be on a similar schedule. No one has told me anything yet, but I think I must be triggering early next week.

Keria - That's great news about the meds!! Whoo hoo! But that's totally silly about having you wait just to be on a certain cycle. I'm sorry. Have you thought about parsley tea or some aspirin to help AF along? I've never used the tea but if you google around...it's supposed to work!

AFM - I am waiting for the call with instructions, but things did change over night! I now have five follies, all still under 14, and my estrogen rose to 800. I am feeling good about this (we'll see what my nurse says).

Quoting myself again...

So I talked to the nurse and they are dialing down my dosage. Boy, are they being cautious! It makes me depressed (arg, those hormones).

How are you doing, Tear?

Aaaaand....they're OFF!! My ovaries are officially responding this afternoon to the stims. I can feel them burning and twinging and growing. Ok, so maybe dialing the meds down a bit isn't such a terrible idea.

lol, I LOVE how chatty you girls are! Maurine, hormones = emotional = OH EM GEE. That's how I'm doing. I'm so overwhelmed. Anybody else feel like all these ultrasounds and shots are making them run around like crazy trying to keep up with life? I feel like I'm falling apart, but DH is helping me remember that i just need to lower my standards for myself as a teacher this month. I love him.

Maurine, these stims are a rollercoaster aren't they? Sounds like your follies are doing just what they're supposed to. Hooray for surprise hidden follies! Keep it up, you guys! btw - my RE tones down the dose based on estradiol level. They don't want the follies to grow too quickly, so don't worry about the lowered dose: they're already there, the meds will just help them grow at the rate they should.

blueyezz, yay for feeling your ovaries grow! Keep us posted tomorrow!

Keria, I'm so glad you're getting your meds for free! That's awesome! But I would be really frustrated if they made me skip a cycle to stay on their schedule. I'm sorry. C'mon Keria's Af, cooperate!

songtothemoon, thanks for the support! It's good to hear you sounding upbeat again. Any news about when things will get back in gear for you? for you!!!

Court...where are you, girl? You ok?

afm - did I mention overwhelmed? I'm taking a half day tomorrow to get my intralipid injection, then acupuncture. I'm really looking forward to the down time, to be honest. We did have an ultrasound today: we had three on the left and three on the right that were 7-9ish, and one more on the right that was more like 6. My estradiol went from 92-300, so they want me to start ganirilex today. Happy percolating, ladies!

Keria - My next U/S is at 8:15am tomorrow morning!! We will see. Wow, that is totally awesome that you are getting your meds for free!

Tear - good to hear from you!! Glad that things are moving right along for you! What is a intralipid injection? Never heard of that? Fill me in... Also, does your acupuncturist do anything special before an IVF treatment session? I always wonder if my guy knows what he is doing b/c it seems every time i go in there, no matter where I am in my cycle, he does the same thing. I'm no specialist, but shouldn't it change, or no???

Maurine - Yep, don't your ovaries just kind feel cramping in a way? Mine kinda burn too, especially an hr or so after my shots and when I try to go to sleep at night is when i really feel them working. No other symptoms for me though. I know some people get emotional or moody and other than a little emotions initially I've been fine!

AFM - hoping that I won't need to have monitoring over the weekend b/c if so we have to actually drive to my RE's office which is about 4 hrs out of state since my clinic here doesn't do monitoring on the weekends. We will see what they say tomorrow afternoon once they have my blood work and U/S results. I did ask today what my E2 levels were on Monday and she said they were 156 which she said was fine so we will see. Just trying not to over analyze anything right now. I just had to fork out a ton of money to get some more follistim (2 cartridges) - Our credit card bill is going to be crazy this month.... ooch!! Didn't realize this was going to be so expensive and I just hope and pray it works!!!

Well, I had my U/S this morning and I'm waiting to hear from the RE's office, but here is what they said.... I guess my lining is at 8 point something and is tri-layer (which I know is a good thing and where they want it to be for good implantation, but not sure what else that means - can anyone educate me more on that?? At least this is what I know for an IUI, the whole IVF process is new to me so may be different). I have 5 folllies on the one side and 6 on the other side all ranging from 18 to 11 and a few more under 10 they said. So we will see. I think my RE's office likes them to be like somewhere between 19 and 20ish for retrieval, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure all of this info also depends on Estrogen level as well and who knows what else. We will see what they say when I get to talk to the nurse later on. That's the scoop!

Hi there! So...nurse called and I have 3 on my left and 5 on the right. Biggest is 17. Lining is 7 pt something and E2 is about 1200. She said to keep my dosage the same and I may be looking at trigger on Sat, ER Monday. Wowzers!

Blue - Did you hear yet? What are your numbers? A lining at 8 is great. They want it to be over 7, the best is over 9. And tri-layer. What day stims are you again?

Maurine - I'm on day 7 of stimming. What about you?? I have always been a fast responder it seems to the meds, who knows why?!?!

Tear - what day stimming are you on? What next for you?

AFM - Crap, I always forget to ask what my E2 is!!! Anyways, they are leaving my dose where it is, so i'm still on the Lupron and also the Follistim. Next U/S and blood work will be on Sat morning. Oh, and i'm starting Estrace to help my lining improve some more. I've always had issues with a thin lining so I'm kinda surprised it is as good as it is now!! We will see what the Dr says on Sat morning, he will actually be doing our U/S on Sat morning so that is kinda cool.

IVF ????'s

*Did anyone get any instruction on if DH should "replenish" his swimmers some time before the actual IVF? We weren't told anything about this, but I know for a SA I they like them to do it several days before.

*Also, I'm sure I was told this, but what makes you not ovulate the eggs that we are growing right now, is it the Lupron? I just don't understand how if we take a trigger shot that your body won't spit the eggs out before they go in and take them? Wonder if they have ever gone in to get them and they are already made their way down the tubes?? Anyone?

After 5 failed IUI's & 6 failed IVF's we threw in the towel w/ ART and then got a NATURAL miracle BFP! Hoping and praying it is finally our take home baby!  Mother to our twins boys in heaven -lost at 22.5wks on 6/20/09 and 1 other little angel in heaven.

Our Miracle has arrived... Caden James...

It's nice to read that everyone is moving along well with their IVF cycles.

blueyezz4 & Maurine: getting close... how exciting!!

blueyeez4: DH can "replenish" his swimmers. They will pick the best ones to fertilize with your follies. My RE office was very particular about what time they wanted you to do the trigger... based on what time they had the ER scheduled for. They want to retrieve very close to the time you would have released the eggs to ensure they are mature. I know how tough it is but try to have faith in the fact that they know what they are doing. Your lining looks great and will continue to grow! It's amazing how much change you see between u/s in terms of follie and lining growth. They like to see as many follies around 19 and 20 but will attempt to retrieve all the follies they can get during the procedure. They could let the leading follies get bigger than 20 if they are trying to recruit a bunch that they feel need to grow a bit more.

Tear: I'm so glad you've started stimming. I will look forward to reading your updates. Glad that DH is being so supportive. I was so anxious and scared when I was in your shoes. I wanted everything to go as planned. You'll get through this and it will be worth it!

Blue - I, too, have lining issues. They keep telling me I am fine and it doesn't really matter until the day of transfer. But tomorrow if mine isn't above an 8 or 9 I am going to ask about improving it with viagra or something. They told me above a 7 was fine, and mine is triple stripe so that's good. We shall see!

I am on day 10 of stims (so if I trigger tomorrow, that will have been 10 nights of injects, which I think is pretty textbook). My hope is to get at least two follies above 19 (with one at 17 already, chances are looking good!). I read a study that said for women under 35, that was the best time to trigger.

We plan to DTD (if I am comfortable, if not DH with DTD with himself ) on trigger night and then have a day off before ER. When we did back to back IUIs, his swimmers were halved on the 2nd day, so we figure he needs a day off. Other men don't at all!

Lupron does suppress your ovulation (as does my ganirelix). Almost all IVFs are scheduled 36 hours after trigger, which is when the eggs are about to release on their own. There can be instances of releasing them early, but it's rare. Of course, I am totally worried about that. My temps have always jumped the day after my trigger for IUI, which makes me worried that I ovulate early. Trying not to worry though...

for Tear! Grow follies, grow!
