A monthly thread to talk about all of our various journeys through the difficult, trying, and often heartbreaking world of infertility. This thread is a place to chat, vent, get support, cheer each other on, and hopefully occasionally laugh!

Please let me know if there are any changes/updates to make.

Thanks for the new thread!

Milk- i'm so so hopeful this is it for you & your new doctor and med combo is the answer to a healthy full term pregnancy! Stay away bleeding!

Sila- sex addict- hehe, you should know, we, of all peoole, don't judge. You should see what I have in store for my hubby this month now that he is home! Be proud of your sexual prowess... AND SILA'S OVARIES, OVULATE ALREADY DAMNIT!! I don't have the answer to which way to proceed (medicate or save), but is it possible you can just take the clomid/ letrazole & not do any monitoring or IUI, to give yourself a better chance each month? Then you can still save but give yourself a 'free baby' chance as well. How pricey is embryo adoption?

Shesaidboom-proud of you for deleting facebook. I took a 3 mos much needed break but I'm back to my self-destructive ways. Anywy, theres always hope for a free baby, we just never know. It is so hard to understand this journey & the crazy hormones just don't help anything at all. The mood swings are the worst. Hopefully once you O the hormnes will calm a little & you'll feel more like yourself. Any word from the MRI doc?

AFM- just feeling quiet, 2 more preg announcements today. So overwhelmed. I start herbs on Wednesday, hoping ths is the golden ticket but also feeling BTDT on the whole thing like I'm wasting my $$, its like $75 for a week, seriously... I wish I could have faith in my body and stop 'yoyo dieting' (thats how t feels). Surprisingy I don't feel depressed, just discouraged, I want more progress... I want no more breakouts and hot flashes and cramps and spotting after ovulation and breast pain. I want normal, beautiful, plentiful EWCM instead of one day of barely any. I want a sex drive, I want to feel confident. I don't want people to feel bad for me, to 'protect' me, or to hide their pregnancies. I want to feel happy for my pregnannt friends, to enjoy the infancy, babyhood, toddler lives of my baby cousins and nieces/nephews instead of being deep down resentful for their existance. I want to announce m pregnancy in a cute picture, I want my own baby... I want to pee on a stick & see 2 lines...

Milk8Shake- The story with Perimenopause is that Endometriosis has destroyed my ovaries. I was apparently pretty close to perimenopause last year as well. Though I am only about to be 31, my eggs think that they are closer to 40. I will do day 3 testing and I think I will get the results pretty quickly, but I don't remember for sure. I expect AF sometime in the 2nd week of this month.

Milk8Shake...   I'm so sorry! Can you get in to see a doctor right away, and see if there is any change they can make in your medications?

Milk - I'm so sorry about the bleeding. I'm hoping this is nothing serious, just normal pregnancy bleeding. Are you going in to see a doc?
I'm feeling much better after deleting facebook, to be honest. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but my depression has lifted a bit since I'm not constantly reminded about how half of my peers are pregnant and I'm not, and I also spend less time online. I didn't think I spent THAT much time on facebook, but I guess it was more than I thought.

Sila - I hope your talk with DH goes well and he gets on board. You can't do this alone. Big hugs to you.

Sourire - thanks for the new thread! Would you mind changing my blurb?

Shesaidboom (28) TTC #1 since early 2007. Four early miscarriages and one second trimester loss. Struggling with PCOS and very low AMH. Five failed IUIs - three on Femara, one on Puregon, and one on Gonal F. Currently waiting for AF so we can start ICSI.

Cait - thank you. I've taken breaks before, but never for long enough. I actually feel a lot better, so maybe this will end up being permanent. I do miss certain things, but my mental health is more important.
I hope the hormones calm down soon because I am just a constant bag of moodiness. According to OPKs I've O'd already so hopefully they will calm down.
My MRI is in NOVEMBER. Ugh. Apparently 3 weeks (from 4 weeks ago) means November. I left a message with my specialist, but of course he hasn't called back. I'm going to call again tomorrow since it's a holiday today.
I'm sorry about the announcements. Hugs to you. I hope the herbs make a difference and this is the ticket. I completely understand the discouraged feeling. I want all those things for you too, and I hope they happen very, very soon. Fingers crossed that this is your cycle.

deborah - are you starting IVF this next cycle? I'm hoping good things for your test results!

SheSaidBoom- We are doing the preliminary testing this next cycle and then go from there. If it appears I'm in Perimenopause (I suspect it will), we will then talk about donors. I need to find out whether my clinic will work with national databases.

Milk - I'm so sorry. I hope that it resolves itself. hug2.gif

Sourire - Thanks so much! I've also read the Jordan series. I didn't know the final one comes out next year. Super exciting!

Sila - I didn't think you were a sex addict. I thought you were very, very, very conscientious in trying to catch that elusive O! Now I know. thumbsup.gif

Sourire, can you change my blurb:

Lilacvioletiris (36, DX hypothyroid 10/11) and DH (40), (zero sperm on 3/23/12, 25 sperm on 5/18/12, 5 motile sperm and 3 non-motile sperm for cryopreservation on 6/29/12 & 8/3/12, 3 motile, 2 shaking, and 3 non-motile sperm on 8/17/12) TTC #1 since April 2011. Got confirmation from fertility Dr. that we have enough sperm frozen for IVF cycle. Currently saving money for IVF.

Milk- go away bleeding, go. away. Sending sticky thoughts (and threatening curse words) to your uterus.

Shesaidboom- that math is backwards... You'd think going to med school these docs would know simple math. Three weeks means NOW damnit. Will you proceed with IVF regardless? How are you doing with your weightloss? My hubbys blood just came back with high cholesterol and reduced liver function so we are struggling with my gain weight diet and his lose weight diet.

Hi krunchy! It's nice to see you stopping by so I don't feel like I'm just blog stalking smile.gif

Cait - I'm torn about proceeding anyway. We're in such a messed up situation. Every month we wait is a problem because my AMH levels are so low. The head of the clinic basically said IVF and IVF now! So I want to just go ahead with it anyway, but I've been having symptoms of low EF (heart stuff) the past few days and I honestly can't tell if it's because I know it's there so I'm noticing it more or if it is getting worse. I feel awful. I'm going to call my specialist tomorrow and see if I can get the MRI sooner. I don't want to go through IVF only to create more issues, but I don't want to waste all this time for nothing.

toothfairy - thanks for the reassurance about the amount of skills required to perform an IUI! People shouldn't be allowed to announce pregnancies to you on the same day. You need at least a week to process each announcement! If you want, I can send out a memo to all your friends, family, coworkers and acquaintances of reproductive age ;) I know how you feel about yoyo dieting.. I was on the endo diet for a while doing the gluten free stuff and now my acupuncturist wants me to do a whole different diet with lots of "warm foods" including lots of grains. I love your list of things you want for yourself... your own personal manifesto. You really deserve to have all those things.

Stevi - I'm glad to see you around! Not everyone here is doing medical stuff so I think you will fit right in. And also your "Fertile Thoughts" are more than welcome here, I've really missed your posts since I left the One thread, you've always been so encouraging and positive! I'm so glad that you managed to get an ultrasound and HSG and everything looked fine.

Milk - I will be testing on Sept 13, 14 DPO. Normally I'd wait until 15 DPO but I have an appointment with my RE that afternoon so I need to know whether I will be discussing IVF at the appointment or celebrating :) Good luck with your in-laws, how is your relationship with them? I'm so so sorry that you are having bleeding. All my fingers and toes are crossed that it goes away. hug2.gif

Sila - thanks for the reality check about the sperm count. That really made me feel better. So sorry you're ovulating late again. Waiting to ovulate must be torture! Have you ever considered trying soy as a natural replacement for Clomid? There was lots of talk about it back on the TTC board when I was on there.

shesaidboom - wow I really hope your specialist can rectify the situation with your MRI when you talk to him tomorrow. Gotta love public healthcare. This is just one more stress that you don't need right now.

krunchy - yeah I've been waiting for the series to finish for like 15 years. I was super bummed when Jordan died but I've read a few of Sanderson's books and am confident he can finish off the series really well.

AFM - I'm on vacation for a week now! Yay! My plan for this week is to do yoga & meditation every single day in order to try to avoid going Crinone-crazy. I started Crinone on Friday and bumped myself up to a double dose today. bigeyes.gif Poor DH is stuck with me all week. I pity him.

Thanks Sourire!

I managed to get a donor to show up today, and have another lined up for tomorrow. I will literally go insane if I can't get the donors to do their thing! I want to go all out this cycle and take advantage of the possibly enhanced fertility from the HSG!!!

Sourire - Thanks for the new thread! Come on summer babies! I hope we get a streak of BFPs this month starting with you. Yoga + meditation sounds like a fabulous plan. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Toothfairy - I'm so glad you posted your feelings. It really helps me feel like I'm not the only one feeling those things, and I hope it helps you unburden yourself. I hope the herbs help. I just stared up with herbs again. I'm trying to remind myself that it takes 3 months for these things to work. Patience, right? How much patience can one person have? I can't wait for you to get your BFP.

Stevi - wave.gif Welcome. I hope this cycle works out for you! You really deserve a take home baby already!!! I'm glad the HSG was all clear and I hope it cleared things up so you are good to go.

SSB - I hope you get to move the MRI up. If you are having symptoms, what is the course of action? I really hope the timing works out. Thinking of you hug2.gif

Milk/ - I'm so sorry you are dealing with this uncertainty. Please keep us posted. I hope the doctors have some ideas on how to help you. I'm thinking lots of good thoughts for you. sticky.gif

deborah - good luck with the testing. I hope things turn out ok.

AFM - Monitoring appt this am was interesting. The u/s tech couldn't get to my left ovary. I was poked and prodded a lot and it HURT! But, I've got stuff going on on that side, which is very exciting b/c I've only ever got pg from the left side. Still waiting to hear what comes next.

S (35yo) wife to T (36yo) and mamma to my princess M (5/10/10).  After 3 losses in 2012, found an AMAZING doctor and gave birth to baby sister S on 11/12/13.

ShesaidBoom...   Could your heart stuff over the last few days be caused by stress over the delays in getting in for IVF? I know my lungs get in a snit when I'm stressed... I'm fairly certain the sinus infection I just had was a result of the stress I was going through, when my doctor referral was not there to get my HSG.

Thanks for the stalking love :)

I guess I actually did end up ovulating. Most likely on the ONE day we did not have sex.

I'll have to reply to everyone later. We're getting ready to head out camping. The last time we went camping at this place I was pg (m/c at 4wk5d). Hoping for the same results when I get back this time...

I was successful in getting sperm again today. I hope this luck holds up! Though, I had a pimple today and might be feeling some twinges around my right ovary, so it's possible I could ovulate early. I have been ovulating around cd14, and today is cd10. Time will tell.

Oh wise ladies. I need your input on my current predicament. I went in for monitoring yesterday. My estrogen was 263 and I had a 16mm and a14mm follicle. I'm going out of town mid-day tomorrow. The nurse told me to do the IUI on Thursday before I leave, which I'm fine with. But, she wanted me to trigger this morning. At most, my follicles would have been 18 and 16, which I think is too small. I know the IUI timing isn't going to be great, but I"m trying to decide if I trigger tonight or tomorrow morning before the IUI. There is a study that showed pg rates to be in the 20% range when the trigger was done after IUI. So, I'm leaning towards tomorrow am. Also, the nurse thought I was leaving tomorrow morning and had originally wanted me to trigger and IUI this morning. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

Milk8shake - Holy crap!  I was on vacation last week and am just now catching up on my stalking...  I completely missed your BFP.  I'm hoping so hard that this is just "normal" bleeding and that everything will be okay.  I have everything crossed for you, and I hope very much that this is a sticky baby.

Stevi - good luck with your donors. Do you still have cute nicknames for them?

SKJ - Ultrasounds aren't supposed to hurt. I had one this cycle that kind of hurt. Not cool. You know how much I love statistics and studies. Well here is another one that might help with your decision of when to trigger:

http://humrep.oxfordjournals.org/content/20/3/756.full.pdf

A quick summary of the study: basically they compared the implantation rate compared to follicle size on the day of the hcg trigger. If you trigger with a follicle 13mm or less, there is basically no chance of implantation. At 14mm, you have a small chance. At 15mm, a medium chance. And anything 16mm or up is the best possible chance. So based on this it makes more sense to trigger tomorrow morning to give your 14mm follicle the chance to grow a bit more (also because of that other study about triggering after IUI). Good luck whatever you decide!

Sila - CONGRATS on ovulating! I hope your lucky camping spot still has that magic!

AFM - Yoga and meditation are working so far! The battle between me and the Crinone side effects is currently being won by me. fencing.gif I'm actually feeling pretty great! Hopefully I can keep winning! 1 more week to go.

Sourire- thanks for your thoughts. I went back and forth and decided to do it last night at 10pm. Based on my history, I think I can assume I had at least a 19 and a 17. Fingers crossed!

Woohoo for telling the crinone to stick it smile.gif

Shaggy is scheduled again today, last night it was Squishy.

My temp went up this morning, so I may have ovulated already. But I want to try and keep BDing until I know for sure.

Guys, I'm just laying low.  I'm still spotting on and off.  The doctor has instructed me to rest, and has upped my medication and hormonal support.

I've now got about 30 tablets per day that I have to gag down.  I'm struggling with that because I am so nauseated.

They did offer me to come in for a scan, but I've decided not to, I'm just waiting for my originally booked appt, which is next Tuesday at 6w4d.

I'm reading along, of course, but I just don't have much replying in me.

Hello!  It's been so busy for me lately!

Milk - Congrats but here's hoping the spotting goes away!!

Stevi - Hello and congrats on your sperm collection! smile.gif

Sila - have fun camping and hopefully the sex on the other days was enough! winky.gif

AFM - So far I'm having what feels like a great cycle.  CD3 was my baseline ultrasound where the nurse told me my ovaries looked "very well rested".  A funny thing to hear but yay!  Took Femara days 5-9.  Had another ultrasound on day 13 and had two great follicles on the right.  I had five that grew but two that were ready to go.  Nothing on the left.  Took the trigger shot in the office and went back the next day for IUI.  DH went to the hospital for semen analysis with the sperm wash for more info.  He had 79 million little guys in the sample, with 61 million after the wash.  The nurse said you need at least 5 million to do the IUI so 61 million was a "super duper" sample.  I'm very excited (and in the back of my head scared to be excited because if it doesn't happen, I'm afraid of the emotional crash when AF comes).

My only problem right now is I had such awful, awful cramping yesterday into today.  It's like a cross between cramps and gas.  I did not have this with the last two IUIs.  Hoping it's a good sign??  Any advice on that?
