X - I'm so sorry you're going through this again. That just sucks. I hope they can find answers from this to prevent it from happening in the future.

Becky - I am so sorry :Hug

Xerxella - that sucks so much... Do you have to wait for the D & C, or can they do it right away? I hope they can do the testing and get some answers for you.

AFM - DH got his DNA fragmentation test results back, and they said that his DNA looks good. So at least we don't have to do double donor. This does mean that my eggs are not what they used to be, though. Which is what the doctors said all along, but I didn't really believe them. I mean, I know that at 39 I shouldn't expect to have great quality eggs, but somehow I imagined I would be lucky that way.

I had a baseline scan today, I had totally forgotten about the appointment until the phone rang with the clinic wondering where I was. Crap! So, no time to shower, I rushed over there (hitting every red light and getting stuck behind every dump truck, of course). Oh well. Apparently everything looked fine, although she had a hard time finding my ovaries. She was super gentle with the wand, but she kept apologizing for using too much pressure with it. At least I only have to go back there for one more scan.

Laggie - How are things progressing?

Does anyone mind if I start a new thread, maybe labelled just ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) so that it would include more people and hopefully get more activity?

Xerxella - I do think it's time for a new thread, that's a great idea. It's really, really not spring anymore. How are you feeling?

I just got an email that the donor has started her cycle and we're looking at egg retrieval around December 15th. We arrive in Athens on the 13th, so hopefully it will all work out perfectly. I'm taking Estrace, baby aspirin, and 3 mg per day of Folic acid. They prescribed 5 mg of Folic, but I think 3 is plenty. They also said to take 75mg of aspirin, but all of the low dose pills here are 81 mg. Seems close enough.

I had to go to the bank twice to wire the money to the clinic, Canadian banks do not understand wire transfers at all. But they've received it now, so everything is in place.

I think that is a great idea because it will include everyone and it is much needed! Is there a less technical title that could be used? smile.gif

Laggie - That sounds awesome. It really sounds like you're on the road! 9 days from now you'll be in Athens!!

tracy, anyone - What title should we use? I'm never good at thinking up catchy slogans.

I wonder if we should go back to "Infertility ONE Thread" instead of keeping the IVF/IUI stuff separate? There are so few people posting on Mothering now, there hasn't even been a new ONE thread since February I think?

TTC this Winter with a Little Help (Clomid, Injectibles, IUI, IVF, etc) seems like an all encompassing title that brings the ONE thread and the IVF thread together. I know I started out on the Infertility ONE thread, but once I knew we had to go the IVF route, I joined in on that discussion instead. It does seem like less people are posting on mdc these days but I am glad there were people going through similar experiences that I could join with when I needed them.

I'd love to see the one thread revived. We are TTC with fertility issues (PCOS), but aren't using ART. So I kind of don't really fit in anywhere.

Yeah but I do think in the ttc forum there is " taking the scenic route to a bfp" which actually encompasses everyone. I do like the idea of having a thread like that here in the " infertility" forum also.......... Without is saying spring or fall because as we all know too well, sometimes you start in the spring but still trying in the winter.. Lol!

Hi all -

Introducing myself....we have recently started the IVF process (prior IUIs), and just experienced a failed fresh cycle.  We additionally went the extra mile with PGD.  We are preparing for an FET in January.  We are devastated, and feel like we're in a category of our own.  :(  Glad to be part of this group.

happily married, ttc since the summer of 2012...have had several challenges along the way...hoping to expand our family in the upcoming year
