I had period like cramps for a few days, still got a BFP. It's all scary greensad.gif. Did you test yet? I agree with Sourire about the progesterone, I thin your temp maxes at some point & your own progesterone won't change it too much with the added artificial stuff.

Tracy - if you took Lupron at the beginning of your FET cycle then all of your natural hormones should have been turned off so your body is not producing any progesterone. I've been getting really painful cramps ever since my BFP, they hurt almost as much as AF cramps but only last 1-2 minutes.

AFM - The excitement of my BFP is starting to wear off a bit and is being replaced by anxiety about miscarriages and whether I am still pregnant. It's hard to believe my body knows how to do anything correctly after so many years of disappointment. I have to wait until May 17th for my ultrasound which feels like an eternity. I really have to try and relax and distract myself... this is almost as bad as the 2ww... well maybe worse actually because it's longer!!! I do have a bit of nausea, fatigue and hunger so that is reassuring.

Tracy: If you read back a while to when I got my BFP you will see like every other post from me saying that "I know AF is coming" and stuff like that. Lots of people replied that they felt like AF was coming too. That is actually why I didn't test early, but when I did, it was positive! I googled it like crazy too, and it is really common. The AF  cramps lasted a few weeks after I got my BFP. So don't worry. It is totally normal.

Just remember that being stressed out will NOT prevent you from getting a BFP. I am living proof of that!

I didn't do IVF and didn't get my BFP with my IUI cycles but with each I've had AF type cramps for weeks into pregnancy. Until 9 weeks or so. I would even comment " I hate feeling like I'm going to lose another baby" all the time. Good luck Tracy!!

CD1 here! I'm scared that my two cycles since the miscarriage my LP was only 9 days & we are doing a natural transfer so although I'll be on Crinone I'm still scared my LP Wong be long enough. Hoping for only another 2 weeks & I'll have a transfer date!!!

X- are you seeing the doc the other women here have used? I hope either way they have a great plan for you! Let us know how it went.

Sourire- I'm excited & terrified. I spent too much time googling yesterday so now I'm more scared it won't work. So many what ifs in my mind.

Tracy- Thinking of you. I hope no news is good news.

AFM- I'm seeing Dr. Hirschfeld of FCI. She seems like she's completely on board! Yeah! She's willing to start this cycle whenever I get my period. Yeah!!! Since I'm 11 dpo today I should start soon. Now I'm hoping my period holds off til Sunday so I can start on Monday. Yeah. I'm so happy with this doc! I hope it all works out.

I'm not actually sure who she was seeing, just that the doc is female, I'm Chicago & willing to try alternative methods to actually treat the problem instead of traditional methods that fail or make more miscarriages. I'm glad you're happy with the new doc whether that's the one or not. What's her plan to make this cycle different?

TF - This doc is pretty standard IVF. We'll do a natural start (she said she doesn't like BCP starts because they oversuppress. Yeah!) And a standard Antagonist protocol with Ganirelix. It's the same protocol as before but she'll start me off at a higher Follistim dose and she's willing to push it for longer to see what happens. She said day #3 of stims is way too early to call a cycle quits and I completely agree. She's also willing to go after those 4 eggs, if that's all I get, and then freeze them all. Hey, 4 cycles of 4 eggs is 16 eggs. There's bound to 1 or 2 good ones in there (I hope). Mostly, I think she's just willing to try, whereas the old doc wasn't interested in even trying. I have insurance. All of this stuff is covered. There's no reason NOT to try. It's not like if I wait a couple of years the scenario's going to get any better...

I'm super excited for your FET cycle. What exactly do they do for a natural FET cycle? With my issues, I'm sure I'll be doing a medical (?) cycle. The doc said I'd have to be on PIO. Blah. But, I'll worry about that when I get there. There's a lot of things that have to go right for me to get to an FET.

xerxella: Your new doctor sounds terrific! And, you're so lucky that everything is covered by insurance. Makes me want to move to Chicago :) I thought my $10k in coverage was going to be plenty - ha! How mistaken I was :) Can't wait for you to start your cycle to cheer you on.... Keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday arrival/Monday start.

Cait: YAY!!!!!  I've missed you :) Tell me more about a natural FET. I think my cycle is a little bit of a hybrid. My doctor at SIRM explained all of the possible ways to do it, but I kind of spaced out. I've been on Estrace for a week. I had my lining check yesterday, and I'm at 10! Sunday, I start with PIO/Endometrin (my doctor has me alternating every other day). I didn't have to do birth control or Lupron, though, which was nice. I am so looking forward to starting progesterone as the estrace has made me crazy. One week from today, and I'll be PUPO. Can't wait for you to join me. We're going to be preggers together!

xerxella - glad you found a doc who will work with you! she sounds like she's a good one! looking forward to seeing how things progress...

teresa - excited about your FET!

toothfairy - you too! can't wait till your knocked up again!

tracyamber - how are you doing?

afm - monitoring appt today.

stim day 6

rt ovary - 2 measurable follicles, 10.4 and 4.25

lft ovary - 2 measurable follicles, 6.76 and 4.9

E2 112

doc gave me the same recommendation that she gave me last time, up my gonal-f to 375, up menopur to 225, add in dilute hcg, in addition to keeping my mdl the same. i did already upped my gonal-f to 375 for two nights, that part doesn't scare me too much. but i have yet to up my menopur. i worry about added lh and egg quality. i did order the dilute hcg shot and will take that tomorrow.

next scan is monday (stim day 9) where she said that if i'm not responding as i should, we will have to talk about canceling.

so there it is. i guess monday will be d-day.

any thoughts or feedback - very much appreciated!

Tracy - I'm so sorry to hear that.

AFM - I'm currently having a miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant. It started yesterday with some brown spotting (not that much). Then today red bleeding and my pregnancy test that gives you the # of weeks pregnant was down from 3+ weeks pregnant to 2-3 weeks pregnant. After that I went and did a beta and confirmed that my hCG levels are dropping. I'm having an ultrasound tomorrow to rule out ectopic pregnancy. gloomy.gif brokenheart.gif

That'll teach me to believe that good things can happen to me.

Tracy- I'm so sorry. I know you need time to heal but if you need anything or we can do anything to help please let us know.

Sourire- My heart is just breaking for you. It is incredibly unfair and honest to God the worst feeling in the whole world. There is just no explanation and nothing that will make it really feel any better. I'm just so sorry you have to experience this.

Teresa- So happy to see you back here, I've been wondering about you on and off all these months! A Natural FET is basically just a regular cycle that they put back your embryos 5 days past ovulation. So it can take a little more monitoring to pinpoint ovulation but other than that and adding Crinone it is just a normal cycle. How many embroyos do you have frozen and how many are you putting back? I'm jealous you are so close, I'm only CD3 so I still have about 2 weeks to go... Is the new clinic using a different medium to grow out your embryos? I know you said something about your embryos not liking the medium... had it changed since your first IVF?

Indie- I'm praying for Monday. I wish now I'd documented more what my stats were on my first monitoring days...I really think that you are sounding fine though & I wish I knew more about menopur to give better input but I don't. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. What were the stats of the woman that you are using the protocol from? I hate to say don't follow your doctors recommendations but you know how good I am about following my doctors orders! Crossing everything that those follicles start growing.... grow grow grow.

Teresa- wow! Just a week away! That's great news!!!

Indie- ((hugs))). How is 4 follicles for you? Is that a good response for you? Would you go after just those 4? Of course, the 10 that's pulling ahead is worrisome.... What do you think? How do you feel about it? Some women do Menopur only cycles and do very well on it, but I just don't know that much about how the added LH affects the egg quality. I looked it up a little and the makers of Menopur show in their studies that Menopur only cycles are better. http://www.ferring.com/en/media/press-releases/2011/megaset.aspx Of course, there's a slight credibility issue there....

Tracy- I'm so, so sorry.

And Sourire- there are no words. The whole thing.just.fucking.sucks. ((((Hugs))))

Married to one of the last good guys left Jim
Mom to AJ 4/07 and Genevieve 5/09

And then: I'm really, really tired of making angels.

But wait, could it really be true?

Sourire: F*ck! F*ck!! F*ck!!! Sweet, sweet Sourire, I am SO sad to read this news. I started crying as I read your post. I echo everything TF said, and I can only add that I'm here for you if you want to chat offline. Not that you're asking for advice (b/c heaven knows I didn't want to hear advice from anyone last year), but if I could just offer one piece of advice it would be to let yourself grieve. I tried to tell myself that there was nothing to grieve because I was only X weeks pregnant and there was no hearbeat. Not grieving screwed me up for quite a few months. So let it out beautiful mama - however feels right to you - let it out. I know there's a baby in your future. I feel it deep down in my toes. Wishing I could wrap my arms around you... sending you lots of love and virtual hugs instead. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Tracy: I'm so sorry your test came up negative. Sending you some virtual hugs as well.

Indie: My cycle that worked (ended up with two fresh embies to transfer and two to freeze on Day 5) was heavily driven by Menopur. In fact, I only used Gonal-F for the first 3 days. I also took a long time to stim. I think I went for 12 days. I don't have DOR, so I'm not sure how much of a factor that is in your protocol.  I'd be happy to share my exact protocol/monitoring with you in a PM - let me know if that would be helpful. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow's monitoring.

Xerxella: Hoping you got AF today, so you can start tomorrow :)

Tooth: Well, a totally normal cycle sounds delightful. I am definitely jealous :) Tonight, I get to start PIO shots ... yippee! At least they're being alternated with Endometrin. So... yeah... my doctor story is complicated. With my very first IVF, I was with a doctor who was on his own. But, he's older and no longer does retrievals/transfers. So, he partnered with RMA Connecticut. My first IVF retrieval/transfer was done by a guy named, Dr. Richlin. And my embryos were grown (and subsequently two were frozen) at the RMA clinic in CT. Right after I got pregnant, my doctor decided to go in house with RMA New York. The treatment I received when I was going through my miscarriage by the NY office was horrific, and so I left. I then joined up with SIRM-NY, where I met and fell in love with Dr. Jeff Wang. Best. Doctor. EVER. Unfortunately, despite Jeff being the best doctor ever, my 2nd IVF cycle was cancelled due to non-responsiveness (much higher levels of Gonal-F in their protocol which apparently didn't work for me) and then the third resulted in very poor quality embryos (Jeff thought my embryos didn't like the culture that SIRM uses). At that point, I decided to use my frozens. But, there is a lot of red tape to take embryos across state lines, so Jeff and I agreed that I should switch to RMA CT. Then - even though Dr. Richlin had done my first retrieval/transfer - I had to go through the whole process of becoming a new patient at RMA CT since Dr. Richlin was never actually my doctor. That's where I am now. About to transer two frozens. That was probably way more information than you wanted ;-) I'm sure the next two weeks are going to be agonizing for you - hope you have something fun planned!

Sila!!!!!!!!!! - WHAT?? I didn't see you on the grads board. OH MY GOSH!!! I am over the moon for you! Seeing your name with a little baby timeline under it gives me oodles more hope for the rest of us over here. If you have a sec, I'd love to hear your story either here or in a PM. Super excited for you!!!! Yippee!!!

AFM: Just trying to get in the right headspace for our big day, Friday! Unfortunately, my MIL was here this weekend, which was not relaxing. And we have cousins from Argentina staying with us tonight/tomorrow. But, I went to a restorative yoga class this AM which felt terrific. I'm seeing my acupuncturist tomorrow after work, and I'm trying to schedule a reiki appointment sometime this week. I had a little freak out when my acupuncturist told me she wouldn't be available for my before/after treatment on Friday, but fortunately, the clinic has someone who does it right in the office. She's offering me a choice of needles vs. laser - anyone have any experience with laser acupuncture? She said studies have shown better results with laser. Thoughts? And unlike the first time around, I'm letting myself eat chocolate and drink the occasional glass of wine. Much better approach for me :) I'm super excited. I really feel like this is it for us, and I cannot wait for Friday!!!
