Currently doing IVF/FET:
Lilacvioletiris - transfer of 2 day embryos on March 30
indie - I've always had super thick linings so I'm not worried about my lining being too thin this cycle, but I'm interested to see if the Lupron will make a difference in the thickness. I'll find out on April 7th when I have my u/s to check the lining.
Lilac and Laggie - I could end up in the December DDC too! If I have my transfer on April 14th as planned and get a BFP, my due date would be December 31.
Lilac - Wow 14 out of 14 fertilized! That's wonderful! The main reason given for later transfers is that it gives you more time to select the best possible embryo. I read a study that showed that even if you have a perfect embryo at day 3, it only has a 50% chance of surviving to day 5. So the longer you wait, the easier it is to select a winning embryo because the others will self-eliminate, and that leads to higher pregnancy rates. I'm assuming it's the same idea for 2-day vs 3-day transfer. I've also read that the first 3 days of embryo development are controlled by genes coming from the mother, and dad's genes don't start contributing until day 4. So sometimes when there's an issue with the sperm, people will have great looking embryos up until day 3, then they will all start deteriorating rapidly right after. Good luck with your embryo transfer tomorrow morning!
Silver - I'm glad to hear good news about your relationship! Hopefully you reach the point where you can start TTC again soon.
Two beautiful embryos were transferred this morning. We have 11 to freeze because one of to 14 didn't survive overnight. My husband and I cried as we looked at the photo of our 4 celled babies. Laid at the clinic for an hour and now we are on our way home. Dr. Dodds gave me a prescription for estrace in addition to the prometrium tablets I have already been taking. Now the bedrest for the rest of the weekend and waiting for my beta on April 10
Laggie - that coat story is nuts! Too bad the cops didn't get back in time. But she probably didn't have the coat anyways and was, of course, just looking to rob you for the $40.
RCR - I still keeping everything crossed for your next beta and the u/s.
AFM - yes they'll do a natural start but not much else different. Before the BCP I had an AFC of 15. I hope that we'll be back to that after this cycle.
Can I just say that strict bedrest is really hard! My back started to hurt by late evening. I don't usually lay on my back for hours. All I could do was get up for the bathroom. Today I can change positions but still need to be horizontal.
Happy Easter! I hope my embryos are growing well inside of me. DH is finally awake. I am hungry but I have to wait for him to make me some food. I asked for scrambled eggs, toast, and some veggie sausage patties.
Hope everyone else's Easter is a great one! Is any one else doing something special?
Tracy and X - thanks for asking about me. I am feeling ok. I am having a really hard time not picking heavy stuff up. Today I naturally picked up my friend's baby and I commented about how much lighter she is than DS, and my friend replied that she is already 25 lbs. oops. I got DS some skates for Easter, and had to pick him up because he kept falling. My beta is tomorrow. I am trying to just stalk this thread more, and move on to the grads thread, but I will post my beta here as soon as I find out what it is tomorrow. still feeling crampy every now and then, but my boobs hurt a lot, so I am feeling good about that.
Lilac - congrats!! I know what you mean abut bed rest. My RE doesn't do bed rest, but I tried to do it myself and after a while my back started hurting really bad.
Rcr, that is the weirdest thing about iVf- there is no "standard" for things like bedrest, when to transfer, etc. I am looking forward to your beta. When do you have a scan to determine if it is one or two babies?
Lilac - I am not sure when the scan is. I was so excited when they called the first time I didn't get any details except when to come in for my next beta. I will ask tomorrow.
lilac - Congratulations, you have so many totsicles! I think some doctors recommend bed rest because they think it is less stressful for women to "take it easy" after IVF. But if you're anything like me, laying in bed is way more stressful than just going about my regular life. Luckily for me my doctor doesn't suggest bed rest at all.
rcr - I keep lifting things too. And then I was weeding the garden (I did get DH to do the digging) and I'm sure that's equivalent to lifting 10+ pounds, when I have to pull out big clumps of weeds and old plants. I'm trying to be careful, but 10 pounds is really nothing so it's hard.
My back has been hurting a lot, and I was thinking it was our mattress - unfortunately the new one we got last weekend hasn't helped. Normally I would go to yoga to fix it, but I think all of the back strengthening exercises involve balancing on my stomach, and that seems like a bad idea. I tried a restorative class, but laying around on pillows doesn't feel like it's doing much... I'm getting a massage today so hopefully that will help.
Wow, that is amazing rcr! congratulations on great numbers.
Any of you had . weird sort of in your lungs pain that seems to happen more when you breath out after you ivf? Pain started yesterday, nothing acute, just annoying tightening in my chest on both sides. Doesn't happen every time I breath either. I am going to call the doctor this morning but they don't open for 2 hours. In good news, I am officially an aunt, my sister had here baby this morning at 1:30 am on April 2. She really didn't want the birth on April 1 and her labor lasted to the next day. My niece is cute!
Lilac - your niece has the same birthday as me! Yes i had difficulty breathing a few days after my ER, because of my OHSS my abdomen filled up with fluid which was compressing my lungs. I hope it's not that!
Well, I just talked to the nurse and she said to monitor myself if I get nauseous or vomit, sudden swelling, have to go pee all the time, or shortness of breath. None of which I have, just this chest tightness which seems to have been minimized by taking Tylenol a couple hours ago. I will just relax again today and call them if it gets worse or one of those other symptoms come up. Oh and I don't have a higher than normal temperature.
my head throbs..migraine! anyone else get migraines from lupron???? it happened last cycle too. i can only stand straight up right now. im an hour out of town...urrrrr. i just wish this process was easier..thanks for reading..
