I have been TTC for about 2 years. I have been going to a Fertitlity Clinic and have been dignosed with PCOS. My doctor placed me on Melformin today, but I haven't started them yet. Have anyone taking Melformin?

Do you mean Metformin? I have. It helped me lots. I got PG 11 months after starting it after 4 years of trying. Never O'd on my own without it.

Yes, Metformin regulated my cycles and balanced my hormones very quickly. I think it alone would be enough to get me pregnant if we didn't have other issues too.

In case your doctor didn't mention it, it's best to work your way up to your full dose. Do one pill only for a week, then two pills a day for a week, etc. Always take it with food too (in the middle of the meal is best). That should reduce the side effects. If you still have side effects after a while and can't handle them, ask your doctor for the extended release version. It's supposed to be easier on the stomach.

Good luck!

I started metformin the cycle I got pregnant with the baby who is going to be born in June.  I don't have PCOS but it seems to have worked for me.  It helps with blood sugar and balancing hormones.
