I have been TTC for about 2 years. I have been going to a Fertitlity Clinic and have been dignosed with PCOS. My doctor placed me on Melformin today, but I haven't started them yet. Have anyone taking Melformin?
In case your doctor didn't mention it, it's best to work your way up to your full dose. Do one pill only for a week, then two pills a day for a week, etc. Always take it with food too (in the middle of the meal is best). That should reduce the side effects. If you still have side effects after a while and can't handle them, ask your doctor for the extended release version. It's supposed to be easier on the stomach.

I started metformin the cycle I got pregnant with the baby who is going to be born in June. I don't have PCOS but it seems to have worked for me. It helps with blood sugar and balancing hormones.
