Mo - that's about as positive as I've got too! Time to turn it up lol... Keep taking the opk's the next few days - it should disappear faster than it appeared... Also get a bbt thermometer and start taking your temps wink1.gif

Joyfamamma - I was on letrozole, but same thing as clomid almost - and yes temps were everywhere and for 2 days after I stopped... This month I went into fsh and my temps stayed everywhere lol

me 39, DH 39, one no babies yet due to previous poor health. Trying to make up for it now (TTC since November 2012) At least one confirmed chem.Ivf #1 march 2014 - 6 day 6 blasts, two transferred bfn, 4 frosties in waiting. Ivf #2 may, cancelled, Ivf #3 July... Waiting

joyfamma - Since clomid decreases your estrogen I'd think it would make your temps go up.

Mo - That OPK is definitely positive today! Good luck!!!! GEt in as many bd sessions as you can for the next 3 days-ish. You'll probably O tomorrow! Very exciting!!!!!

chuord - Welcome to the 2ww!!!!! Good luck. When will you test?

AFM - I'm so happy to see a strong AF today and yesterday. Last month it was weak, light, brownish and only lasted about 2 days. This month it's back to normal. Hopefully that means my cycles are back to normal and I'll have a good month. My first u/s and bloodwork date is Thursday. Hopefully it shows a good start to the cycle.

Married to one of the last good guys left Jim
Mom to AJ 4/07 and Genevieve 5/09

And then: I'm really, really tired of making angels.

But wait, could it really be true?

Hello, may I join you ladies?

I know chuord, mamacats and Mo a little! I have been hanging out for a while but not posted.

We have been TTC our first for 14 months. I was diagnosed with pcos about 4 months ago and put on metformin and vit D. I am now on the second round of clomid. The first worked nicely and I released two eggs but no joy. This month I am 4 dpo and I think I ovulated judging by the carnival in my abdomen, ouch! I'm now mega hormonal and massive mood swings that just are not fun. We are going to try up to two more rounds of clomid then it's onto IVF in April. I yearn to have a baby of our own.

Outside TTC, I am 36 and British. I work part time and have been married to an amazing guy for 18 months. Totally loved up!

Hope you are having a good day. Baby dust to all!

My DH was hilarious last night. I called him before he left work and said I had a surprise for him. When he got home I lined up each of the positive O tests and he broke out in the biggest smile. He thought I was pregnant y'all! LOL I told I wasn't but that means its time to go for the gold! LOL He was hilarious. I can't wait to see his reaction when I finally tell him I am. He is going to flip his lid.

In other news, my 5 year is able to read about 4 different books now. Yay!!!

oxf- Welcome!!! Pcos is not fun!! You said you're going to IVF if clomid doesn't work but have you thought about IUI first? Or seeing if you are Oing on clomid or if you need a trigger?

Adie- congratulations! What a miracle that a heart that beats can be created from an egg and sperm! How exciting. I hope you are taking it easy and being good to yourself.

Mo- ha ha! Poor confused DH! They really don't get all this do they? At least we have it under control they just need to turn up and cooperate! Your timing sounds great this month. Was it your first on clomid? Were you tracked? Do you know how many eggs you have?

Adie- I was tracked last month and had 2 eggs, one each side so they said I don't need a trigger and to keep things the same for the next few months. On the IVF, as we get free healthcare here (I'm very grateful), I will get one round of IVF for free. I 37 in a few months so I would like try it sooner rather than later. If that doesn't work we can try some IUI. There is such a cocktail of medicines and "help".
Had anyone got any views on what has worked for you?

@oxford No, no tracking this month. This was my first cycle on clomid. All I really did was exercise each day (or when I could) for about 20 minutes, made sure I got enough sleep each night and watched my food intake which resulted in a 5 pound loss. That's really it. Plus I just released the stress of wanting to conceive so bad.

My blood tests are scheduled for Feb 11 or 12 (can't remember) to see what my progestrone levels look like and determine if I ovulated for real or not. Then I return back to the doctor about two weeks later for a follow-up. Either I'll be pregnant or he will up my clomid for another cycle and we try again.

Welcome Tiny and Oxford - I hope your stay here is short and sweet!

Congrats Adie!!! What a wonderful thing to see the heartbeat :-)

Mo - Have fun (insert Dr Evil type laugh here).

Oxford - I just wanted to throw this in for what it's worth if you only get one free shot at IVF. For me it took 4 attempts at IVF to get my meds protocal right, the first 2 got cancelled partway in (so I'm not sure if cancelled cycles would use up your one shot?) the third was a miserable BFN with crappy embies, nothing to freeze, etc. Finally after many years and different doctors and getting pregnant with donor sperm with our DD, we tried one more time and had a very successful cycle. I mention this only because maybe they can help get your meds protocal right for a little less money through IUI before you use up your one cycle. Now, keep in mind, we have severe MFI and didn't have any insurance coverage and didn't try IUI's and went straight to IVF. In many ways I'm glad we did it that way, but with all the problems that ensued and almost losing my marriage and spending EVERY PENNY of everything we had, I sometimes wished we'd wasted a couple of IUI's just to get our meds down pat before jumping to IVF. Either way - GOOD LUCK!!!

Me: 34, DH: 36, DD born 7/25/10 After 4 years of trying and failed IVF treatments (missing my angels).  IVF/ICSI worked this time! DS born 1/8/13!

Hope4light- thank you! That is one of the most helpful pieces of advice I have heard, thanks for sharing. I never thought that the meds might take a while to get right. When we go back to the hospital I will talk to the specialist about trying them first as a practice run, brilliant practical help :-)

Sorry to hear that you went through so much though. The emotional side and damage to our relationships is really tough to get through and still have a marriage in tact. It sounds like you managed to hold together though with some heartache. The financial side is crazy. Once we use up the one free you can pay a reduced price for more on public health or a high price for private treatment. My boss at work tried 6 rounds of IVF and £100,000 ($160,000) to get her baby boy. We can't afford that!! I have this blind optimism that clomid and metformin might get me there (please God!).

Are you pregnant now with your LO or are you TTC again?

Mo- best I luck with your clomid. Glad you are managing the symptoms. I guess you are about 1dpo now from you opks. I'm 5dpo so we can keep each other hopeful for the TWW. :-)

oxford - no, we are actually done :-) Our DD (used doner sperm) is 3 1/2 and our DS (from our only successful IVF) just turned a year. I keep up on this thread because I still know people on it, and in the process find myself entrenched in others journeys that weren't here yet when I was :-) I've been on since my first cancelled cycle (due to severe hyperstim possibilities) back in 2008 (we started TTC in 2006). But whenever I feel like I can help someone from my experiences I like to at least try :-) Everyone is different though - and so many of the wonderful woman on here (and on the grads thread that also still lurk around keeping an eye on everyone here) have been through every meds protocal under the sun, and have had a range of experiences doing it. I promise this place is wonderful!!

But alas - I don't know how we could possibly afford another baby. So sometimes I still ache to go through it again, but most of the time I'm quite content with our little miracles!

We saw our Dr. on Monday and she seems to think everything is perfectly fine. The fact I haven't gotten pregnant yet isn't a big deal three is only like a 30% chance i would be after 3 months (I'm towards the end of this TWW so we don't know this round didn't work). We go back again in May to check in. By then i have like a 60%ish chance of being pregnant.

And then as we were leaving she reminds me that the follicle this month measured a little small and shes asked everyone to keep an eye on that.

Way to tell my brain i have something to worry about.

But even with that information i have been much calmer since seeing her.

Hope4light - thanks for that info! Lol it helps me too, this last month I did iui starting with letrozole and adding 50fsh for 4 days and then 75 for 4... I will have been lucky to get one good egg. However now I feel comfortable going onto higher meds, and you have confirmed my thoughts to have a monitored cycle first to understand my body... The injections weren't as horrific as I expected, the gently gently approach worked for me.
Mo - I'm 3dpo so in with you guys too, I got told to wIt until 16 to test, but I'm on hcg shots... However I'd be tempted to wait until AF is due, you can test earlier - but it depends if that will stress you or not smile.gif I'm so impressed that you have worked off the ttc stress - any tips lol?
Oxford - are you taking anything post o? I stalked your chart this morning - nice strong temp rise wink1.gif try and enjoy the clomid free days.
Tifga - that's great that the appointment added to your calm, and that you have a better understanding of your chances on the protocol..
How's everyone else?

Chuord, I know I tested out the hcg shot, meaning at 3 dpo when I knew I wasn't pregnant "yet" I did a hpt to watch the line get lighter and lighter until it disappeared a couple days later, then when I had negati_e hpts for a couple days, I was able to have confidence in my positive hpt on 9 dpo. I think it helped that I was pregnant with twins as far as gettinga positive line. I had th cheap hpts - dollar store variety - so I wasn't spending much to feed my testing obsession.
