For all those for whom getting and staying pregnant is not as easy as we thought it would be.

Whether you're doing IVF, IUI, injectibles, other meds or just trying on your own you are welcome here. We all have different struggles, but somehow sharing the ups and downs with others makes it easier to bear.

I'm officially joining you now. I think we are really going to try to catch the next egg. I'm still feeling ambivalent about the whole thing, partly because I don't want a September baby (though who am I to be picky??) and partly because I'm terrified of miscarrying again.

I know most of you ladies because I'm a longtime IVF thread stalker. For those who don't know me, hi! I'm monkey and I have PCOS. It took 18 (long, mostly anovulatory) months to get pregnant with my son. We did one failed round of Femara about 6 months before my son was finally conceived naturally-ish. (I don't consider Preseed and a Diva Cup to be exactly natural, but I know it's nothing compared to what most of you have been through.) We got pregnant again the second time I ovulated postpartum, and I thought maybe I could just pretend I was a normal fertile person. We lost that baby just shy of 8 weeks. I don't know what to think any more. There's definitely still hope that I can get pregnant again soon and carry to term, but I'm afraid to hope too much. Part of me can't stand the thought of going through the first trimester again, wondering if it's all for nothing.

Subbing so I can keep rooting for you all! Monkey, I hope you're able to get pregnant again easily! Pregnancy after a loss is definitely nerve-wracking, and I'll be thinking of you!

Monkey- Good luck!!! Are you doing anything this cycle?

to everyone else. It's nice to see new faces. I'll try to keep a new thread every season. I don't think I'll try to have a master list of everyone. I think it's too hard to keep up with. But if anyone else wants to they should.

AFM - I had the embryoscopy and d&c yesterday. It went fine. I had a moment on the table before the anesthesia hit in where I just lost it, but other than that I'm doing pretty good. It helped that none of the series of events was a shock. The doc said the entire gestational sac separated from the uterine wall easily. I think that's inherently my problem in that the bean never gets a firm hold on the uterine wall. It never implants well ad my HCG is always low and slow. Anyways, the doc sent the bean off for testing with Natera and I should get the results at a 10 day follow up appointment. So that's nice. I'm afraid it's going to be healthy (I guess male). And we will still have no answers as to why healthy beans cannot implant into my uterus.

Still following along, still not successfully pregnant. Praying for us all to graduate with long term babies soon.

Aw X~. That is so frustrating and tiring. I am sorry..... Hugs to you. What can be done if it turns out everything is fine but there is an implantation issue?

Tooth fairy~ I have been thinking of you..,,,,,,,,,infertility can be such a long road but I am positive you will get your baby soon(hugs) to you too and I am glad you are still following along!

I'm not really sure if I belong here. I'm 12 weeks "overdue" for my Depo Provera injection (discontinued to TTC) and not ovulating. I'm having "cycles" but they're too short. The last two were 16 days and 14 days. According to the data I'm reading, it should be absolutely out of my system by about January 5th. I know a lot of women take many months to get their periods back but I've been having estrogen surges for the whole 12 weeks I've been waiting. My body is trying to ovulate but its just not happening. I already have one DS (3) but I was diagnosed with PCOS before he was conceived. I was ovulating on my own but it was more difficult. My body would even delay ovulation until I was relaxing on the weekend! I had a cervical cancer scare last year and didn't ovulate for over 2 months while I was waiting for results telling me everything was okay (and it was). I'm not sure how long I'm going to be waiting for the first egg. I wish it wasn't too 'over the top' to just start on Clomid now. I don't feel like its something I deserve to have access to though, I'm the one who decided to take the birth control shot and knew that this was a consequence.

X - Following you as always
:stillheart

TF - Hang in there friend
:blowkiss
Much love to you.

Monkey - Hoping that #2 comes soon and without treatments.

WifeofAnt - Be easy on yourself. The past is the past. Hoping things change in January!

Saying hi so I can continue to follow all of your journeys. I may be back here some day though it's far too early for that decision. I'm hoping that if I am ever back here, that all of you will be gone with babies.

Hi! I was hanging out over in the December TTC thread until my doctor told me the other day that I may have a case of PCOS. It seems my weight isn't where it needs to be which would explain why I have such irregular periods and no positive OPK (had one the other month that may have beena flunk).

It's here because although DH and I want to have this next baby, we realize it will be a huge uphill challenge due to PCOS. Right now we are going to focus on losing about 20-30 pounds before even trying again.

I have to admit, learning that I may have PCOS took a breath away for a moment and made me feel some kind of way. Now that I've had a few days to sleep on it, I'm glad to know what's going on and that I can fix it by changing weight.

Xerxella - Thank you for starting the thread, I love the title! Oh, you had to wait a long time for the D&C
brokenheart.gif
. You seem to be taking it in stride, but I know that waiting for it to be over is not a fun place to be. I really hope they figure out what is going on with your losses. I have the opposite problem, they implant well but the genetics are bad.

lilac - wow, you are ready to pop! Awesome!

Sourire - I have kind of a bittersweet love for your avatar... but I'm looking forward to seeing something happier in that space! I'll have to come stalk you in the grads!

monkeyscience - I'm a September baby, they are awesome.
:wink
I know what you mean about being afraid of the first trimester. I keep having dreams that I am pregnant, but I'm just terrified and I keep peeing on sticks because I must be wrong. Good luck with doing it the old fashioned way.

toothfairy - Hi! I'm sorry to see you back here. I mean... you know what I mean.

tracyamber - It's been awhile, good to see you. I forget where you are at in your fertility journey?

rcr - Thanks for making me believe in miracles! Yes, I am getting excited and have a million things to get done before we fly to Greece!

Milk8 - Stalk away!

Wow, so much action in here! We should have started a new thread awhile ago, I guess. If I missed anybody,
tiphat.gif

AFM - I had an ultrasound this morning to check the lining. Apparently all is well, there is a triple stripe and 7.2, whatever that means. We fly to Greece on Thursday, and the egg retrieval should be sometime around December 15th. I'm at work in my Christmas tights (reindeer and snowflakes!) and can't seem to concentrate on anything. The pile of paper around me is horrifying. Must get back to it.

Laggie - Yes I've been meaning to change my avatar for a while but I keep forgetting! It seems a bit inappropriate for me now, although it was perfect when I had my miscarriage. Have a great trip to Greece!

Everyone - I'm rooting for all of you, especially toothfairy - even though you don't post a lot I think of you often and I'm really wishing for some good luck to come your way.

Hi everyone! I am new to this site! Love the title of this thread! You all are so inspiring! For those of you who don't know me, I'm
24 been ttc for almost 2 years. My husband has low sperm count and all tests for my came back normal! We've done 3 unsuccessful IUIs this year & just praying God leads us to we're we are supposed to go next! <3 feeling pretty hopeless this Holiday season!

Hi naturallymo sending you weight loss vibes through the holiday season. That's hard. I read your natural hair blog and I really like it as I have finally moved that way after moving to the coast. I'm loving it and it keeps my mind busy !
Hi hayhurst13 my husband has low sperm count as well. Will you be doing IVF? Through a fresh cycle I was able to get pregnant in 2011 and now have a two year old.

Hugs to all of us!

Wow! This thread took off. I'll try to start a new one every season. (Hopefully, I'll be successful long before then).

hayhurst - What are your next steps? Just taking some time to try to figure it out?

Sourire - I follow your blog sometimes and I'm rooting you on!
smile.gif

Laggie - It sounds like everything is moving along perfectly! A triple stripe is what they look for. It's a sign of a good lining.
smile.gif
I'm so excited for your trip to Greece!!!! Will they be doing a 3 day transfer or a 5 day transfer or does it just depend? What about frosties? Do they just hold on to them for you?

naturallymo - Good luck on losing weight over the holidays! But, I had a really hard loss last year around October and I HAD to lose the "baby weight" for my psychological well being. It went through the holidays, but was fine and I've kept it off which has been great. You can do it, too.
smile.gif
Are you seeing a specialist about the PCOS? I don't know much about it, but know that there are other things they can try such as Metformin which can really help.

Sila and RCR - I can't believe you two have had your baby girls! How time has flown.

wifeofant - Be kind to yourself. The depo shot's not a death sentence. It'll clear form your body in time. What are you doing to help your PCOS?

tracy - What are your next steps? Are you still working on adoption?

toothfairy - Any plans?

fierrbug, lilac, tenk, hope, tear - I love stalkers..... They make us feel special.
orngtongue.gif

milk8shake - Always thinking about you. (But in a non creepy way....) And this race to see who can get more little angels at the bottom of their siggie is really getting out of hand. Let's just call it a tie and quit already.

AFM - I have absolutely no idea what I'll do if the bean was genetically normal. Probably cry. This last cycle we tried Intralipids, Lovenox and Prednisone besides all the normal stuff. I guess maybe Letrozole and Neupogen.... And, Intralipids, Lovenox and Prednisone? I don't know.

Reason for Letrozole: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22246449
Reason for Neupogen: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/712831

Mostly nothing. I tried Metformin before trying for DS (I was diagnosed while DH was deployed) and didn't help. It made my cycles more irregular and made me sick. I cut out a lot of dairy and that helped but I have a cheese weakness. I was 125 lbs for the longest time (at 5'3") but Depo Provera made me gain 10 lbs. My BMI is still "normal" but I've visibly put on quite a bit of fat. I tried for a little while to lose it but it didn't budge. I'm sort of hoping that it slowly comes off on its own when Depo Provera is completely out of my system but that's quite a big hope. If not, I hope I follow the same pattern and lose weight easily after baby #2 is born, I went below my prepregnancy weight before DS ate very much solids.

@Xerxella - thanks for the vote of confidence. My hubby is losing weight with me so we are doing this together. I'm keep the faith that things will work out.

@tracyamber

- Thanks about the natural hair blog. I need to update it. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to do much of anything lately. I haven't started to see a specialist yet but those are the next steps.

My OB recommended Metformin but everyone I know has said how horrible it was for them in terms of the runs so I'm not sure if I want to use something like that unless necessary. I'm going to try weight loss first and then revisit later.
