I hope I'm posting this in the right place. If not, please forgive me. I'm reliatively new here.
I'm curious... has anyone experienced/struggled with uterine polyps? Have you had success in getting pregnant? Or are you still on your journey? Looking for some encouragement, but also advice. I tried to find a thread about them, but no luck. Sorry if I missed it.
For me they twist off and I end up passing them- the doc says that sometimes my body treats the expelling of the polyp as light labor too... which explains why the process is so incredibly painful. Mine are benign, and typically 3-5 inches long.
I've been trying to conceive our second child for a year now. I'm not too old (33), I have "the ovaries of a 16 year old" according to my RE, and everything else is completely normal. We conceived our daughter 5 years ago on our second cycle of trying.
I have a uterine polyp and my Dr. says that it's small enough that it shouldn't interfere with getting pregnant, but here we are after a year of charting and trying, a few monitored natural cycles, one Clomid cycle and IUI, and nothing to show for it except for two early losses (chemical pregnancies).
My Dr finally agreed to remove the polyp so I go in for surgery on April 11th. I am hoping that is the problem and not some other mystery cause. We can't afford IVF so this is one of our last things we can try.
So, just some commissuration here. How long have you been trying?
Congrats on your first child, and I'm sorry about your losses. Thanks for also sharing your story.
I have had polyps for about 4 years now (that I was aware of at least), and we have been trying for 6 months, although I've been off BC since July. I am meeting with my OB tomorrow to discuss things. She said that after 6 months of TTC she wanted to see me because of my history. We'll see what she has to say about other options and when to start them.
Hope your surgery goes well : )
