IVF hardships

Hi all, I have been married for 3 years, together for 8, all that time we never wanted kids. I was an athlete, running 10 km a day, boxing etc and eating low fat diet, so body fat % is very low. Everyone told me to slow down but we didn’t wanted kids so was not a problem, but we do want now. We are now on 3rd IVF cycle and not responding as I should. I have put on weight and now in a healthy weight range and still nothing. We start our next cycle in few weeks and on 450 FSH. I have also spend thousands at naturpath with all types of herbs whcih has caused many fights, but I am willing to try anything. And then I found out that my sister who does not want kids is pregnant and I am struggling to keep it together. I am not able to get over it, she is pregnant without trying and I am here at acupuncturist with needles in my body

Hi there, I am so sorry that you are going through all this. It is indeed not easy and everything that you can do should do. If you feel that in your heart that it might help then go for it. Have you tried DHEA? If used before your stims for weeks t is supposed to increase AFC, consult your doctor about this. As for your sister, that is indeed unfair, I can’t even imagine the feelings you must be experiencing. I hope that that you try to keep up the positive energy. I know it is difficult, but you have to cope up. I am on my 4th cycle and believe me I haven’t had an easy time even though I responded well. Take care of yourself and feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Hi, thanks for your kind words, it certainly helps. What is DHEA, I haven’t heard of it. The worst thing I feel is the guilt. I feel I am depriving my husband of what he deserves because I chose to run. He is very supportive and has never blamed me, but I can’t help wondering if we end up with no kids. He use to tell me to take rest days and eat fatty foods, but I didn’t and as a result we have to do IVF. The guilt kills me.

Hi there, guilt..I know all about that, but really what does it help? There is nothing you can do to change the past. It sound you have a very supportive DH. Embrace him, your love and connection are really important in this phase. IVF can take a lot out of relationships. Since I had a horrible reaction to first IVF and ended up in hospital, my family doesn’t understand why we’d try it again. So I stopped talking to them about it, but this leaves you isolated. There are many success stories and many women who stayed strong through IVF. This forum is my way of expression and helped me cope up. The women here are my support system. My suggestions to you, get support from people around who understand you, take good care of yourself, do things that make you happy and understand your treatments and options.
Regarding DHEA, it is a natural supplement that decreases with age in your body. If taken 75 mg daily 7 weeks prior to a cycle, it can increase your follicle number, but before you take it consult your RE as some women have reported some side effects. All the very best to you.

Thank you so much for the post, I feel so better reading it. I am going into the cycle feeling positive and have done everything asked from me this time, I have put on weight, stopped the excessive exercise, eaten fats, followed low carb diet and relaxed. It just has to work this time. This place helps a lot, so will continue to write my feelings when I can. Thank you all.

If your IVF is not responding then you should switch your clinic. Find a clinic which guarantee positive results in affordable price. Other than this, you need to stay positive and eat healthy. Good Luck.

Hi, I am new in this forum. I am here for a research on surrogacy. I think surrogacy is less time taking then IVF. I have tried almost every method to become a mother. But nothing can take me until the end. IVF was very painful for me. I was disappointed after every cycle in IVF. So we left that also. After a year one of my cousins told me about surrogacy. We both want a happy family. That can happen only when a child comes in our life. We are going to Ukraine in search of the clinic. I know they are best in their services.

Hardship is just a test of your faith. There are so many couples that experience the same thing of yours now. But they never give up. They keep on going forward in their IVF journey. Look at them now, they are happy with their families. I know you can do it. Just think positive!

Just relax Diana. It will not help if you keep on thinking negative. The specialists are taking care of you. Trust them and cooperate them through staying healthy and happy for a successful one.

I can understand your problem dear. I am facing the same as you. But unable to explain it to everyone. I have gone through every process to become a mother. But I cannot make it. I was a model. I have many boyfriends also this is the need of our profession. So I have done 2 abortions in my career. Now, I got married, I need children. But I am not getting them. The situation is really bad for me. I want to try surrogacy. My husband also agrees on this.

I can imagine your pain and anxiety. I am also in the same situation from past 12 years. I am 42 years old now. I tried every method to become a mother but no result was made. My husband loves kids. We want to have our own family a happy family. This is really difficult for me now. I cannot cope with the pain. I am now checking fertility clinics. Surrogacy can be the last option for me. I will go to Ukraine. Surrogacy in Ukraine is best. The prices are also low.
