Congrats JL'smoms...I've been lurking on here for a couple of weeks now. I did IVF last March and got PG w/my son who was born in Dec. I am going back to the RE tomorrow to discuss my options. I only have IF coverage until Sept so that is why we are acting so fast. I'm really nervous b/c I BF my son and I fear he will deny me the opportunity...

Best wishes to you all!

Mama to Jack (12/7/06) & Liam (4/3/08) & Iris Hope (10/6/10)

Booja's Mom - How are those meds treating you? I hope the side effects have lessened and you're doing well. :

I have a pregnant pulse, says the acupuncturist. And, a huge temp spike this morning at 4dpo. I am feeling optimistic, despite the cramping I've had since the IUI. That's all, I'm just happy, and hoping that you are all feeling hopeful as well.

Katia - I am glad to hear you are doing well. Fingerscrossed for very very very positive results! When do you test?

Hi Elk Mama - All is more or less ok. I am still a wreck from the meds but I am keeping my focus on the babe that will hopefully come.

I had my supression check today and all is well. Also had acupuncture which is great. It relaxes me and gives me renewed focus and energy.

How is everyone else doing?

Peace to all

Yahooo! That is great! May we all be so lucky

Well, I'm now on 600 IU of folistim, no side effects other than I feel kind of bloated, and a little crampy- I have more follies on the right than the left (16,15,14 and some smaller ones), and I'm hoping that both retrieval and implantation happen next week-after that the kids I nanny for are out of school and things get a lot harder.

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to say thank you for all of your congrats and well wishes. I had my second beta yesterday, and go in for another one tomorrow. My first u/s is Monday.

BlueIrises - There was a thread a while back about breastfeeding during IVF. Have you looked at that? How was your appointment with your RE?

Katia - That is great news!

Mamimapster - Best wishes with your upcoming ER and ET.

Hi Ladies,

How are all of you doing?

JL - How was the ultrasound?

Mamimapster - Did you have your ER? how are you doing? Is it painful?

Katia - How are doing on your 2ww?

Everything here is the same. I am still having very crappy side effects to the drugs but I am staying positive. Our ER is scheduled for early next week. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well.

Hi Booja's Mom - My u/s went well. They saw the gestational sac and yolk. They also saw some bleeding but said that was common. I go next Monday for another one.

Good Luck with your upcoming ER.

Excellent!! Fingers crossed for your embies!!!! Sending you lots of good vibes.

JL's great news about u/s. Curious minds want to know. Why did they say that the bleeding is normal. Is that only and ivf thing or just par for course for early pg.

Mamimapster - Congratulations on your embies!!

Booja's Mom - How are you doing? I know you will be so glad when you can get those eggs out! I was so glad when my RE told me to trigger because I honestly didn't think I could do one more day of injections.

They said that bleeding is common with IVF. I had the same thing with my prior IVF cycle (no spotting) and they put me on bed rest for a few days. This time they said as long as there was no spotting I wouldn't have to go on bed rest. I have a bad habit of not asking questions, but I knew I had the same thing before and everything turned out fine so I wasn't too worried.

Booja's Mom - Thinking of you.
JL's Mom - Glad it is "normal" and that you're not worried.

My first IUI did not work out and I am bummed. I know you all have been through much, much more... but I'm really disappointed and down. I'm going to take a few days to mope and then gear up again for another try. Yippee!

Hi all, it seemed to go well, I saw the "flash" then the embies implanted (two of them)- I don't feel anything- except a sore tush from using the wrong sized needles for six days: I am hoping the test will be on the 19th (it's my Dp's secular birthday!)

Hi - looks like this is turning into a bit of a support thread and I'd like to join it!

We have a 22-month old DD from our first ivf cycle, and we just had our consult with our RE about starting up again. The original plan was to go back after a year, but then I became committed to nursing a toddler :-)

DD is still nursing. RE set the expectation that we will wean before our cycle. A couple of reasons for this: firstly I am clinically underweight and this is most likely tied to nursing (they ran a blood panel for thyroid yesterday and are awaiting results). Also, I'm not a great responder to Puregon, even though we're IVFing for male factor (ICSI) so he wants my hormones back where they should be.

At this point, I'm hoping to night-wean DD (I'm ready for that anyway!) and try to keep nursing to before bed only. I am hoping that that will resolve the above issues and I can just "fib" about weaning!

We're hoping to cycle in late fall if all goes well, so we've changed from parents back into patients again as we get ready.

Good luck to everyone cycling!

Hi Perdita - Welcome !!!!

Ladies quick questions to anyone out there. Did any of you get a lot of cramping after transfer? I call the doc and the nurse said to come in to just to be sure she said not to worry but I am scared... Any thoughts????

I didn't get much cramping- but for me the IVF transfer was sooo much easier than regular IUI's I had a horrible time with cramping and IUI's. It may be that your cervix is reacting to being dialated.
cross fingers for me mamas. I'm tesing tomorrow- but I think it's going to be a BFN- I started spotting today:

Just here to send good wishes to Booja's Mom -- that the cramping is no big deal and maybe even a good sign -- and to Mamimapster -- that the spotting stops and you get great news soon!

Perdita - GL with the night weaning and hope the tests come back with good news for you.

I am in the middle of my 2nd IUI cycle and not "around" much, but I have been thinking of you all!
