Thanks for the new thread Eastbay! I just wanted to let you all know that I tested this morning and I got my BFP!!!! I'm so excited! : DH and I have been trying for 22 months and this is the one that it worked! I'm basically making my rounds today to all the boards I belong to so this is my second stop. We're so happy that we got to do this without any additional bells and whistles. I didn't know how we were going to pay the midwife after that. The funny thing was that DH went to the urologist on Monday and he sent us home with an SA kit in the case I wasn't pregnant. Now we don't need it! We know that his boys can swim!!! What we did basically was

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Chiropractic
Mayan Abdominal Massage
Dh was taking Maca this month
Prenatals
Vitex (very small amt)
Vit. B complex
I got a Cheri22 prediction and she was right that I would find out I was pregnant in May!!!! Now I wonder if she's correct on the gender--she predicted a girl for us. So much baby dust to you all!!!

Oh yeah, could I please be moved to the Graduates list? Thanks!!!!

Well, we're certainly off with a bang aren't we. Hopefully we'll have lots more BFP's this month and some threadkeeper's luck will rub off on me.

Kemi- That is such great news for you! I hope all goes well. I wonder if Cherie22 is going to have a rush of prediction requests now...

Soulshine- Congratulations to you too! Happy and healthy 9 months!

As for me, I had an ultrasound yesterday that showed at least 3 follies, but I wasn't ready for a trigger yet. Follow up ultrasound on Friday (at 7am, yikes!) and probably my IUI for Saturday morning. Yeah

Yeah, well if you want to get a prediction from her you had better hurry because she's due in a few weeks with her second baby. I'm sure that she'll be very busy with her new LO so make your request and do not delay!

Also CONGRATULATIONS Soulshine!!!! I guess we may be in the same DDC huh?

Also, I would like to start a PG after TTC12+ months Thread for those of us who have been ttc'ing for a long time. We come with our own emotions on the topic and it's different than the lady whose DP just breathed on her or she got an insem (for my lesbian sisters) and got pregnant right away. It's way different. So if anyone would like to join that thread, I would be very happy if you would. I feel that it's important...

Congratulations to the bfp's! If I ever get pg I would definitely appreciate a PG after Infertility thread. I agree that there is so much that's different about how we would process a pregnancy.

EastbayK, can you change my description to match my signature? We're still on a break, and will be for a few more weeks, but I'm hoping to get things moving asap.

Congratulations to all of the BFPs!

I’m still here, but I guess that’s to be expected. I’m in the process of looking for a new ND for myself – sometimes I just don’t know which direction to move into.

I’m taking a break from temping because its driving me crazy. It’s a relief, but at the same time I have no idea where I am in my cycle.

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to the first two BFPs for the month! I hope you both have great pregnancies and beyonds, kemi and soulshine.

Good luck to everyone this month, with testing, treatments, and babymaking. Let's hope it happens for all of us!

I'm in the home stretch of my TWW... testing on Monday (8dpo today, Monday is 12dpo and when AF is due). This was our first IUI cycle, and we're hopeful but I'm starting to prepare myself for what happens if it's another BFN.

EastbayK, could you please change my description too? We are currently doing non-medicated IUI for MFI, and have been trying since Nov 07. Thanks!

I feel very good vibes on this thread, do you all too?

I hear you, songbird. For me, it plays into a lot of my other issues about feeling "less than" in one way or another. I'm not sure I have found a great way of dealing with it, other than finding other women who are dealing with IF and reminding myself that IF strikes all types of women and it's not a comment on our femininity.

YAY!!! I'm SO glad your HSG results were good, frog! Mara, how did your HSG go yesterday?

I get what your saying-- after awhile you slip into this "new normal" where conceiving naturally seems foreign and miraculous, not because the creation of life is miraculous, but because you've been exposed to all the myriad of things that can prevent it from happening.

That's a good way to describe what it looks like. I had my HSG today and the doc said everything looked perfect, so yay!

HEAPING CONGRATULATIONS TO KEMI AND SOULSHINE!!!

I'm still here *lurking* a bit mainly because I can't quite keep up with all my wonderful threads while DH and I are remodeling our townhouse to sell and move. Nope, not stressed at all. I took 100 mg of Clomid this month and had an IUI with great timing, now 12 dpiui though today's test was neg.
BTW the HSG superhero trio bit really had me and I'm glad to know that Frog and Mischievium checked out w/ flying colors.
Lots of : and : to all the women here for a fruitful month.
Thanks EastbayK for the new thread and GL! for your IUI! (my dh came in with me and if yours can, it's so great to have him there)

Hooray for everyone having good results for HSG's!

I got my trigger shot this morning and have at least 2 good size follies ready to burst. We'll be reporting in to the clinic Saturday morning at 8am sharp (really, it's Saturday, does it need to be so early? Is this prep for early am wake-ups with a baby?) for an IUI.

Today I'm calling around trying to find a babysitter so that Kidzilla doesn't have to accompany us. I can hear him now, knocking on the door of the "sample collection" room while I'm in there trying to help DH- "Mom, are you almost done? Mom, what are you doing in there? Mom, why can't I come in? Mom, I have to go potty..." Mmm, romance!

Hello. Let me introduce myself......My name is Tricia. I am currently a SAHM mom, looking to start graduate school in the fall. I am the mother of a beautiful, co-sleeping breastfed son named Andrew. He was conceived via IUI and hormones to stimulate ovulation. DH and I spent years trying to get pg once only to become pg twice and then have two miscarriages. After trying several cycles of clomid and IUI's with my regular OB, we were able to get pg the first cycle with the infertility doctor. This doctor was able to determine through some simple blood tests that I am missing a gene that metabolizes folic acid. Essentially, my body attacks the baby. Andrew will be two in a couple of months and we are now thinking about going down this path to parenthood again. We are still in the waiting category. I am nervous and excited at the same time.

In addition to Andrew, we adopted my brother(13) and sister(17). Andrew couldn't ask for a better aunt or uncle

I'm looking forward to this journey with everyone!

Tricia, married to DH. 2MC's & 4 yrs ttc...finally mom to Andrew6/06 and Benjamin 10/09. Adopted bro & sis 2002. My 2 fav. words: Spay and Neuter! I'm an Ultimate Viewer, 2010!

Hi All,

I'm going to be joining you here. I'm on day 2 of our 13th month of TTC and, to the best of my knowledge, I have never been pregnant (sounds like the sequel to a Drew Barrymore movie!). Even though I'd rather not us all be here, I'm still looking forward to meeting you all!

For the list:
I've been TTC #1 since May 2007.

We aren't and I don't think will be pursuing any conventional medical interventions, but I am very interested in natural health and nutrition. (Also, I am very interested in adoption, although I know it's not a feasible option for us right now.)

And yes, I know...I don't temp and I know how it works and why/how it can be useful (I've been called out on this before). Maybe someday I will. For now, I do monitor CM and check my CP (it usually doesn't tell me much) and also use OPKs and according to all of that, I appear to be ovulating monthly (how well, I do not know). I know I could definitely stand to have a longer LP (I tend to get pink CM a few days before my period begins), and have started on B6 for that (I am a supplement queen) and have been on vitex for quite a while (although, I took this last month off from all supplements besides my multi).

Again, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and find support here through what sometimes feels (to me, I know) a rollercoaster of an experience!

I'm here. We thought we were heading for clomid to conceive dc #3, which is how the other two were conceived, but instead found (after my HSG) that both of my tubes are blocked. so we are starting IVF for the first time this sunday. i'm both excited and nervous, and totally feeling overwhelmed by the mini-pharmacy i have in my refrig.

hoping it works on the first time!

baturay, so sorry about your tubes... good luck with IVF. I hope it works right away for you!

puffnstuff and Tricia, welcome! I hope you graduate right away!

EastbayK, how did it go this morning??? GL!

poetgirl, sounds like you have your hands full. Any updates? Good luck with the townhouse stuff, and with POAS!

everyone else, any updates? what's new?

for me, my temp was low this morning, and I feel PMSy - I have cramps and that kind of acidy feeling in my vagina that I usually have before I bleed. I'm in a very bad mood really.

Still no AF, temps still above coverline at 12dpo (AF is due today), but a BFN! Ug. I've always had a drop on 12dpo and that's when AF shows up.

I guess I have to keep waiting!
I'm at least proud that I waited this long to test.

I think I still feel a little PMSy, but I'm now noticing it's a little different - more like O-pains now. ??

I just told DH I wish I could go back to sleep and wake up again tomorrow morning for my temp! so silly

Updated to here

I added a few new posters and updated Aly. Please remember to BOLD your requests for changes.

to everyone AF found this weekend.

As for me, the IUI went well. The weekend Dr. was on duty and it was a little rough on my cervix, but it all went well. DH is convinced we are going to have twins b/c there were at least two eggs in there. My chart shows I ovulated saturday, so hopefully we timed it just right. In the mean time, I'm battling a cold causing disgusting amounts of snot.

Have a great week everyone!

Kemi - CONGRTULATIONS!!!

Aly - I'm sorry for your bfn this cycle. Yeah for getting in for a June IVF cycle. May it produce that longed for bfp

Perdita - May your waiting go quickly and peacefully to a beautiful ending. : Did your dr think the nursing affected the treatment at all? I'd love to hear more about that since I'm curretly nursing a 22 mo and was recommended to go to IVF.

to all of the new ladies joining us. May you soon graduate.

An update on me. I had the re-consult with the re on Thursday. They did another ultrasound at that time (CD19) and my multiple follicles were still no larger than 9. The dr came in the room during the ultrasound and had me look at the follicles on one ovary and try to count how many there were (over 10). He then proceeded to tell me that he was going to recommend IVF because of the large number of follicles. When we talked after the ultrasound, he told me my options. 1) I can use the fertility shots with intercourse or iui, but this is not recommended based upon the large number of follicles I produce (PCOS). Basically, he said that I would likely ovulate many eggs and there is a good chance I could have a higher order pregnancy. We're not talking twins here, but more like quadruplets, quintuplets or more. So, he's strongly recommending IVF so we can control how many embryos are transferred to reduce the risk of a multiple pregancy. I never thought I would be in this position, at least not nearly this quickly. Since I don't ovulate or have periods on my own, we can start anytime once we concur. My dh and I are talking, but we don't know yet what to do. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

J A with DD1 7/06, lost twins 9/08
DD2 12/09 & DS1 12/09

No personal experience here, but you might think about how you feel about selective reduction too. My RE told me that if Femara doesn't work we'll have the option of injectables/IUI or IVF, and she said that if we are strongly opposed to selective reduction we should choose IVF. I don't know anything about the risks to other babies/risks to mom with selective reduction, not to mention the heartbreaking nature of the decision (particularly after infertility). Not to mention the increased cost of IVF.

So... for having to make these decisions at all. Hopefully someone else can chime in with a better answer. I haven't given a lot of thought to it, because I've got some time before we get to that point, and I'm hoping we never get there.

Update

I’m going back and forth if I should starting seeing an acupuncturist or try some other method. Western anything never worked for me in the past, but I wonder how I would do.

In the past, I didn’t give acupuncture enough time (two months) so nothing really happened. At the time, money and time (since I work full-time) was/is an issue.

Acupuncture is at least $300 a month (more like $400+ if you have to go in more than once a week). That doesn’t include herbs etc. Finding the right person is imperative.

I have not been temping this cycle because I need to get some distance. I’m on CD 26 and have NO idea where I am. We made sure to BD or couse especially when I had EWCM (yesterday) but that the extent of ttc right now. In a perfect world, it would be enough.
