Jo & Aly - Good luck on the ER's!

Question for those who stopped the bcp's already. How long after stopping did you get your af?

I'm wondering that too. My last bcp was Friday. So far, not a peep. On my schedule it has the estimated for Tuesday/Wednesday. I have heard that it can be really light, sometimes only brown watery discharge, so if you're expecting full on flow, you might miss it.

For me it was 4 days after stopping the bcp that I got a full flow. 3 days after I started spotting, but they didn't want to count that as cd1. It was lighter and shorter than usual, but noticeable.

Mine started about 3 -4 days later. It also was not full flow. Good luck, I think I started stims 6 days after stopping bcp.

Aly and kfg - Good Lcuk tomorrow

Thank you ladies for all your kind thoughts!!!

All went well with my ER--it was a very quick retrieval...they got 9 eggs, that is one more than expected...so I am happy, but with some reserved enthusiasm as we await tomorrow's embryo report.

My tummy is a bit sore, we stopped on the way home to fill my perc script which they gave us "just in case you need it", but stated that tylenol should be enough....please! lol....So anyway, I am feeling much better now, and just rented "Fools Gold" from PPV....I love Matt M and Kate H, and am excited to see them in a movie again.

That's it for now....please say a prayer for my little embies over the next few days as they struggle to become--

Thanks!

If I am unsure what fish is considered large fish, I look it up... http://health.discovery.com/centers/...shandpreg.html ...but I know salmon, shrimp and tuna are on the safe list and that's all I like anyway....the point I think from a chinese medicine standpoint is that fish and chicken are much more easily digested and are high quality protein, whereas red meat takes more "energy" to digest and process, "energy" which can be pulled away from the ovaries. On another note, fish and chicken are less consitpating and I don't want anything in my system to plug it up before retrieval!

CRAZY--toner eh...not bat...I am impressed! What did you decide to do about your schedule?
Missed this before. I decided to drop the course (did it already) and take time off later in the month. If I go on holidays in mid-July it runs right into the August long weekend (I think) so that works out much better for when I will be stimming, having ER and hopefully ET. Taking my own advice, thanks for the support on making this decision everyone!

Re: the fish, I completely obsessed over all the lists of which fish are good (have the good omega fatty acids) and which bad (heavy metals and mercury) and decided to start liking sardines, they have the good but not the bad and I can handle them with pickles and cheese.

My cycle didnt' come back for 13 1/2 months after I had dd, so over 2 years with no AF, you might get a lot longer than 9!!! Good luck all around.

Aly - : for your ER.

Well, AF showed up 3 days after my last bcp. It's actually my regular heavy flow, so no way would I miss it. All else is well....

Well here it is... I am finally on vacation !!! And so relieved to be ! This summer is entirely dedicated to relaxing and babymaking...

We are going to the clinic tomorrow to learn how to use the meds and we start Suprefact on the 7th of July, until the 25th... and then we start the active part of the IVF... This will be alot of needles and hope... never thought those two things would ever be associated ! Anyway the needles stress me a little... but its such a small price to pay !

My gf and I are excited about starting treatment... and trying to be relaxed about it...

I watched "brigning home baby" on TLC today and it was a couple who had their baby through IVF... it made me hopeful...

Coco we have similar schedules but I don't know what Superfact is. Is it like Lupron? I start stimming July 19th and my ER and ET will be the week of July 28.

Hey there

From what I understand, Suprefact is what stops your cycle... I guess some others get BCP for that ??? Then the Gonal F is what makes the eggs.... I dont know what Lupron is for so Its hard to answer yourq question lol. I am a newbie at all this !

Lupron also stops your cycle...I think it puts you in a menopausal state.

I will be stimming with Follistim. That's another drug to make eggs.

Edit: It is like Lupron, I looked it up "After being on the Pill for 2 weeks, you will be started on a drug called a GnRH analogue. The commonly-used ones, Suprefact and Lupron, are given by injection once a day, preferably in the morning. This drug suppresses the pituitary gland in the brain, which prevents it releasing FSH and LH. This means that we can take complete control of the ovaries and uterus without any interference from the brain"

My eggs really suck. Out of the 9 they retrieved, only 4 were mature, and only 2 fertilized....I doubt we'll have any to transfer come Thursday.

At least dh's sperm sucks just as much, so I am not in this alone...lol

Sorry no personals...I'm gonna crawl into a hole for the next few days and stay there............

kfg - Keep seeing your two embies as growing and thriving. Staying in a positive place is really important to one's self. We ivfers put ourselves thru so much.

Please be good to yourself. I completely understand wanting to crawl into a hole for the next few days but bring some ice cream and cookies. Praying for your embies.

Aly - Hope your feeling better. Praying that your embies are also thriving and dividing. kup'd on the fertility report.

Ok the Fert report is in...
Of the 19 eggs they got 17 of them were mature and 11 of them fertilized. They will be deciding tomorrow if its going to be a 3 or 5 day transfer. However I'm thinking it will be a day 3. DH and I are both really happy with these results.
