For DH and I, we have used it for nearly 9 years now, and have not had an "accidental pregnancy". My DS wasn't exactly planned, but on the night of Dec. 17, 2003, I knew they're was a good possibility I'd become pregnant, because DH decided he didn't feel like pulling out
My main complaint with withdrawal is reaching my own satisfaction! (If you get what I'm saying ) It seems like DH always has to pull out right when... Yeah. That's always frustrating
I see another "unplanned" pregnancy in our future because of the above! I guess that's how we'll plan our children
after reading this thread though, i am so buying condoms in bulk next time i'm at costco
btw, poster above me: great taste! (look at our siggies)
It's 96% effective with perfect use (although for us, it's been 100%!). You can read more here:
Studies have said different things. What I've gotten from reading them is that some men will have no sperm in their preejaculate, but those that do usually have enough for withdrawal to not be effective at all. It depends on the individual's biology. If you've already gotten pregnant once while using it correctly, I'd say its not effective for you two.

DS born Dec 2010 Pregnant with #2, having another !
I get this strange urge to tell him not to (pull out) sometimes when I'm fertile.
I don't see how anyone who charts actually doesn't have sex during the fertile period- that's like the only time I really WANT to have sex!
ditto for me.
Totally me too. We conceived both of our daughters the first time we tried. We use withdrawal, fertility awareness, and condoms on fertile days because I get kooky and want don't want DH to stop lol.
