hi all,
I would appreciate any advice, wisdom, etc...
I turned 38 in October, and have just-4 and just-6 y/o (girl and boy). I have always wanted 3 but hubby was reluctant; now he has come around and I am left truly wondering if we should or shouldn't. (I'm only 38 now, but would be 57 when he/she graduates from HS, if I got pregnant asap!)
This is, overall, a very happy predicament to be in, but I really would love your views / wisdom as I contemplate...

i hope you arent too old! i just had ds4 last year....my 40th year.

there is a 40 plus tribe here that you may want to check out. most of us are really really happy with our decisions to have children later in life (though i also had children early in life also).

My youngest brother was born when my mom was 45! I also nannied for a family and she was 38 and had just had their youngest/last - 38 is not that old! I would totally do it if I were in your position.

That's such a personal question, search your soul and go for it (or not)! I'm four years your junior and the way the nurse, NP, and gyn carried on at my annual appointment yesterday when I announced I'm going off the pill made me feel like I was 50 and wanting to try for another! ("Oh good, before you get any older!" "If you're not pregnant by December, here's the referral for your mammogram." "Could you please get her the pamphlet on advanced maternal age?")

Good luck to you in your decision!

thank you all!!!

Passionatewriter, thank you for telling me about that tribe. I will check it out.

And Kalamos, thanks for the encouragement. It really is a nice "predicament" to be in; I should be so lucky to be able to decide something as wonderful as this.

I know, I need to search my soul. "faced" with this decision, you really kind of look at where your life is at, and where you want it to go... it's all good!

I had #1 at 39 and #2 at 42. With two young kids, I feel like a young mother!

if it's what you guys want and you don't have any big glaring issues that would make it dangerous for you then do it!! yeah, you'll be older when the child finishes school, but that's only an issue if you want it to be one.
