Quick background, I started bleeding 15 days into my monthly cycle and it has been going for 2.5 weeks, like a light-ish period. I checked my strings, but not up by the cervix, because I was worried it had ruptured my uterus. Strings were fine. I checked about an hour ago in the shower and I can feel the tip of the IUD poking down through my cervix, it's definitely not the strings. I'm calling first thing in the morning to get in with my doctor, but I work from 12-9 tomorrow so I probably won't get in until Wednesday. I'm not in any pain, but I did get light-headed and sort of woozy when I poked around at it and I have some really, really light period-like cramps.

My question is, what will the doctor do? Will he take it out and then re-insert it right away, make me wait, poke it back in? It hurt SO badly to get put in, I really don't want to go through that again. Could this potentially damage my cervix, since it could have slipped 2.5 weeks ago? I got it put in June 2010 and have never had any issues other than cramps and heavy cycles the first few months.
