I've been using FAM for almost 6 years now. It's worked fabulously for us. We didn't get pregnant for 2 years when we didn't want to. Then when we were ready for baby #1 we got pregnant that month. We used LAM afterward and avoided pregnancy with ease until we were ready for our second child. We got pregnant with her within 2 months of trying, and she was born a few months ago.....

....but NOW, I'm trying to resume LAM and can't because my BIP (Base Infertility Pattern) is WET! I'm a bit at a loss of what to do. We've been on condoms, but DH hates them, and as a result we're not having sex very often. I guess I need an alternative birth control method right now, but I'm at a loss of what to do.

Any ideas?

It's been awhile since I used FAM, but it worked well for us other than between kids. It was just too hard to track properly with newborn lack of sleep and disjointed sleep patterns. I did have success with FAM and diaphragm anytime I wasn't completely sure on the FAM (which was many months).

I'm not understanding the problem.  I'm not sure if you understand what LAM and BIP mean, because one doesn't really have much to do with the other.  How far are you PP?  If you are within 6mo, you're exclusively nursing, and you haven't had any bleeding, then it doesn't matter if you have all-the-time mucus, you are still considered infertile as per LAM.  Many women have wet BIPs PP, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are fertile (that's what a BIP is you know, Basic IN-fertile Pattern).  As long as it is the same thing every day, you count it as infertile. It's when it ISN'T constant that indicates returning fertility.  Check out the resources on the Charting to Avoid thread for more clarification (or just join us!).
