I wonder if he will be more like an only child due to the age gap? I would love a sibling close in age for him, but I am older now to be pregnant again, (considering adoption) this last one was hard on me.

.can anyone please share their experience of having a larger gap that created a virtual only child......anyone have a final one they were hesitant about and now are glad? Or feel overwhelmed and regret it?

We have a larger gap between my three siblings and my two youngest brothers. Its hard to decide but it was very nice for them to ave eachother because we were totally not into interacting with them.

My mom also had brothers who wer 6 years older than her and always felt like an only child.

But it all depends on your dynamic. My mom worked a lot and was a little self absorbed so us kids were left to our own devices a lot so it was nice to have a companion.

But in a different dynamic I could see where having your parents all to yourself might be fun too. Not to mention 5 years is not too bad.

Its all about what is best for your family and just be prepared for the older ones to "annoying younger sibling" the youngest which is noramal.
