How early can a blood test pick up a pregnancy? Thanks!

Well, it was negative but I still haven't started my period. I'm going nuts. I'm never, ever late for my period. Even when I'm nursing. I've gotten several negative pregnancy tests. I'm going crazy here! :

sorry, did you get a quantitative beta?? I think if your HCG is under 5 then it's generally considered to be --- in a qualitative. In a quantitative they give you the exact number. if it's zero, then your probably not pg unless it happened in the last week or so. Barring lab error of course, but I've never had a beta be wrong.

Here it is three days later. Very late for my period. Temps well above 98.0 for the past 6 days. I know I'm pregnant. I don't need a test to tell me.
