A little background first:
My dh had a vasectomy when ds#2 was born. He was only 21 at the time and the dr was really concerned but we were sure at that time we didnt want any more kids He also didnt go back for the checkup to see if everything was "fixed". Well 3 1/2 yrs later I magically get pregnant with dd. And now we're wanting another but dh wont go back to the dr to see if dd was just a fluke or if he is actively producing sperm.

So here's my either genius or stupid idea!!! If I bought a pretty good microscope (for homeschooling of course ) and put some of his fluid on a slide would I be able to see the sperm if they were there? The one I'm looking at is a pretty good microscope so Its not one of those silly littly kid ones. Still...think it would work?

At the same time I swear I'm pregnant right now, but I may just be hoping too much. Tonight had a bunch of clear lightly pink stained mucus...and I have no idea what that's about. I'm guessing that means I'm about to start?? It's been a LOOONNNGGG time so my memory is a little fuzzy on how it all works :

I'm not a regular on this forum but i would really appreciate any thoughts on the subject

Yes, that will work.

I was a production livestock, pre-vet major, so we did this a lot. You want to see round to droplet shaped sperm with a tail that moves flowingly when it swimms. If they don't move, have broken tails, or a small droplet on the tail near the head, these are abnormal. I don't know what a good count is in human sperm, but I am sure you can find out. You might also want to look for actuall microscope photos to see exactly what you should be looking for. I am sure you can find all this out with a little research!

Good luck and I hope you find lots of swimming spermies
