Hi ladies,

I posted this within the charting to avoid thread and got a couple of responses, but I'm still very nervous and need more reassurance. LOL

DH and I decided that after I finish this pill pack that we could stop and chart to avoid until the end of December. My only worry about this is... I've been on the pill for 6 years. I didn't read TCOYF until a few years into pill-taking. The ONLY thing I remember about my cycles pre-pill are how long the period part was. I don't EVER EVER recall feeling "slippery" when wiping after using the restroom, or noticing any discharge, or anything. Nothing.

Can some more of you give me reassurances? Not that you are sure that I will notice something now that I know what to look for... but reassurances that the same kind of thing happened to you and sure enough you noticed things? I'm not going to be able to check at my cervix so hopefully there will be something that comes down to the opening. I want to thank eilonwy, adenlylismama, and Alison for replying on the other thread.

Look forward to hearing some more replies.

I LOVE charting. LOVE it!

I started charting (via TCOYF) after coming off Depo Provera, and I definitely recommend it as a way to get your hormones back to a balance while also learning an amazingly impressive amount about your body. We've been charting and using condoms for almost three years now -- successfully (we're waiting for DH to be done school before TTC).

Anyway, I didn't really recall having any discernable CF pattern before I went on birth control years ago, so I was skeptical, too -- and concerned that I wouldn't be able to correctly identify my CF. But I was amazed when I started seeing the differences in CF quality. Once your body gets to post-BC hormonal balance and you get some experience under your belt (no pun intended!), you'll start to see the patterns.

I hope this isn't TMI ... it took me a while to feel comfortable checking my cervix, too. But I did see that CF --especially the egg-white variety -- will make its appearance after a BM. Toni Weschler talks about this in TCOYF ... and she's totally right. So, if the CF doesn't make an appearance on its own, another bodily function will help you out with that.

Definitely temp! It's the only way to corroborate what you're learning through checking your CF.

Best of luck to you!!!!
