I hope someone can help me here. I've had my IUD for about 3 weeks now. I've had the spotting/discharge problem since day 1. Now, I'm having less blood tinged discharge and more of a yellow discharge. There's no odor to it and I'm not experiencing anything uncomfortable other than the discharge. Is this normal? I called my doctor, but it's Friday and after 5 so I have to wait until Monday. I'm out of town too, so if it's something I can wait and talk to the doctor about, I'd rather do that. Otherwise, I need to go to the ER.

Please someone help me out and tell me this is a normal side effect!

I agree, if it doesn't smell funky and you're not in pain, I'd wait to talk to your dr.

Thanks you two. I'm going to wait it out unless I notice an odor.

I've had my Mirena in for a year and a half, and I still have quite a bit of yellowish mucus discharge (sorry if TMI), no odor.

One of the ways the Mirena works is to increase the amount and thickness of the cervical mucus, so it's just a normal part of having a Mirena.

thickness? I always have fertile mucous- clear, stretchy, slippery... Have yet to get pregnant, and I'm sure I've had sex while ovulating w/ my Mirena.
