So Now that we will be buying a house I can finally open my in-home day care! As I'm going through the licencing process (mandatory in my state), I have been thinking of names. Or rather not thinking of any good ones I want some think not TOO corny maybe that emphasise learning and or greenness/nature. I want to make up business cards to discreetly circulate around my current childcare job (it's in a gym so not really conflict of interest), 2 or 3 people have already asked me for info. The poll is just my thoughts PLEASE if you have a good idea, give me a shout as to what it is.

I like Green Grass. It implies that the kids will actually play in the grass and not just sit in front of a tv all day.

I like Green Forest. Calm, gentle, nature-focused.

Green Grass reminds me of cows.

Worldly Wonders/Wanders would make me think poorly of your vocab skills, because the primary meaning of "worldly" is sophisticated and experienced, not having to do with nature.

Imagination Station and Nature Navigators sound kind of high tech, like the name of a science museum program.

Green Forest is definitely the best.

I think you should go with the subtheme I'm seeing and name yourself "Robin Hood" or "Sherwood Forest" or "Wee Merry Band of Friends" =) Which I would love, lol. Is Imagination Station trademarked? It sounds familiar. The "wandering" sounds cool but also a little concerning for childcare. What about "World of Wonder" ?

I kind of like Imagination Forest. It sounds like it offers a lot of possibilities for kids to grow using their imaginations.

I don't like Imagination Station. It sounds trite to me. I googled it and it came up with a ton of stuff. Even was number 4 in my suggested list of what I was asking about before I finished typing it.

Green Forest is OK. Is your new house near any forest? This name kind of implies nature-themed activities.

What is your vision for the types of care/activities you will offer for your clients' children? The more I think about it, the more I like Imagination Forest.

I am a 40 year old unschooling, belly dancing, artist-mama of one almost 8 year old. I just had brain surgery and blogging.jpg about it a bit because it's just so surreal.

Yes, I did the same google search and found so much for Imagination Station.

I felt the same way about Green Forest, there is not a forest close by. But a lot of what we do is nature based, farm visits, nature trails, parks, tree rubbings, using things in nature to make crafts, identifying and examining (nicely) insects or animals.

Imagination Forest is growing on me.

My cousin and I still like Green Grass best. I like the idea of Imagination Something, but the word still strikes me as overused or pretentious sounding.

I like Green Grass. I think the alliteration is nice and it has nice connotations. Particularly if there is not actually a Forest.

I like Green Forest, and Imagination Forest, they both sound pleasant and nature-y. Imagination Station is catchy too. We used to go to an "Imagination Station" playgroup at our community center and I know the name of it sounded very appealing and official to DS.

Some more ideas . . .

Happy Campers
Magic Years
Nature's Way
Nature Pals

Hmmmm . . . this is hard! LOL

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Good luck with getting your child care business started. It sounds like it will be wonderful.

My friend has a preschool (she is on here too!) and she calls it Children's Garden. I love the name because it seems calm, in tune with nature, etc.

Hope, check out my life at http://thethriftyqueenspeaks.com

Ok guys I'm coming down to the wire here, I need to send in zoning papers with the name on it. Here is what I have narrowed it down to...

Imagination Station- Although it seems to be over used, I like the catchy sound and there are none in the general area.
Imagination Forest- Not quite as catchy, not quite as over used
Nature's Navigators- Sounds like kids are in the lead, we're investigating and out in nature.

Here is the new poll...

http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?t=1139294

Love the idea of Children's Garden but there are quite a few here.

This may be too late, but I think you should use something with Earth in it since what you are talking about with nature is really exploring the Earth. What about Earthlings? Your logo could even be an Earth hugging a kid or something so it doesn't sound like outer space

I like Nature Navigators, but with a name like that- you had better have some real nature learning/projects/trips planned!

Good luck!
