DD 15yo was recently inspired by my new business venture and asked how she might sell her photgraphy work.
Any suggestions for someone her age? I thought of Etsy but there are so many other shops out there with photography.
Then I thought she might be able to sell using a sub-domain through our business but not entirely certain how that works.

TIA for any help you can offer!

I think it would depend in what format she wants to sell it in. Digital files, prints, or applied to something like cards, clothing etc. Depending on the format I think would depend on how to best utilize the setup for selling it.

My husband is starting this as I set up a website as a gallery for now that I will be able to integrate a cart to for both selling digital files and for ordering prints. If we were applying it to something I think we'd use a different service for that and set it up differently depending on suppliers etc.

Mom to Joscelyne 14, Andrew 12, and Mackenzie 10 and wife to Nate.

Do you mean by applying it to something different that you would do something else if you were applying the work to something like a tote bag?
This is something dd was thinking of offering. T's, bags, coasters, etc.
I would really appreciate your further thoughts as I know nothing of how one might sell photography. What's best? Especially for a young girl just trying to earn a little money to save for college?
TIA

If she is looking for that sort of thing (applying it to tshirts, totes etc) there are services that you can use to do that. CafePress is one and I know there are a gazillion others, some even do prints. I don't have much experience in that area other than putting images on there to make my own wearables and totes so I never did markup, but it was pretty straight forward. You basically upload the image/graphic and then select what you want to offer with that image on it. Maybe some of the other WAHMs here have other ideas for sites that do this sort of thing?

Redbubble.com is a newer one I've heard great things about

Thank you so much!
Sorry for the delay in response. My in-laws (aka The Out-Laws) were in town and I haven't been able to get on here much.

I thought CafePress might be an option but I was concerned about the cost per item and that the mark up might be a bit steep. We'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the link to the e-book. I'm taking a gander at that now. I was hoping to get DD's biz up and running by the beginning of the year. I've got a lot to do if we're going to manage that.

Thanks again ladies!
