I am really lame (and have only read the first couple pages, sorry). I tried Surf Bounty, spent a couple hours doing things that 'may' pay up to '$x' & it was all pretty scammy sounding to me so I never followed up. Being told I had to order my stupid Tickle to get paid did not put me in a great mood.

Is there a quick way to know (wish I'd seen this earlier!) what to avoid?

One thing to avoid for sure is Tickles. As I understand it, you won't get paid for that.

I have never heard of Surf Bounty.

Two sites that I would definitely recommend are Instant Profitz and Deal Barbie Pays. Reputable sites with trustworthy owners.

PM me or someone else here in the group for their referral link to these sites.

About your card being preauthorized for the entire amount of the trial....
I have started to sign up for trials before and read the Terms of Service. Sometimes they do indicate that your card will be preauthorized for a certain amount. If it is over $1, I typically won't do it. I would think most offers would list this in the TOS.

Quote:
I decided tonight to do Video Professor (I want to learn quickbooks, lol!) and was bummed b/c when I got to the end of it it said there was a problem and I need to call customer service!
I wonder if it is because you are using a prepaid. One offer I did accepted my payment online with my prepaid, but then sent me a letter saying they noticed my credit card was a prepaid and I had to change my payment method before they shipped the goods.

Quote:
So, what is your plan for the month?
I haven't done anything yet! I just bought 2 prepaids today, so will probably be trying to scope out high paying trial offers next week. I wish there were more Bingo & Casino offers....I am loving them! I much prefer the quick, higher payouts. I get too bored doing a ton of sweepstakes in a row.

I'm trying to cram in as much as possible this month and next...come the end of October/beginning of November, I am going to be crazy busy packing boxes for my "real" "part-time" job.

I just want to make enough to pay for our Christmas vacation. Airfare, cabin rental, and car rental. That's my goal anyway.

This is why I dislike TT. Low approval rating (even for paid trials) and poor customer service when you try to get help (for paid offers not clearing).

If you go to their forum, they have a pin with the top 20 approved offers (freebies). I had good luck with those-16 cleared. But not good luck with others.

the bonus of one free referral means that when someone signs up at Barbie without using a referral link..then she will place them under you. So basically they will be your 1st line referral and you will earn 10% of everything they earn

So sorry about the situation with Simon. I've never had a problem but I'll be sure to watch carefully from now on.

Video Professor charged me $1 and then $5.95.. since the offer does cost $6.95 in shipping. And many trials will place a $1 hold to make sure you are using a valid credit card.

I've done a ton of trials and most of them do not do a preauthorization charge on your card. I know that Video Professor does make sure that you have more than the shipping amount on your card but they do not charge you for the full amount...just the $6.95 s/h fee. Some offers will charge you twice for s/h but one is a pending charge that will fall off after a few days. They do this to make sure that you actually do have more on your card than just a few bucks to cover shipping. This has actually only occured twice on my prepaids.

Hi. I'm new to all of this and have spent the last couple of days reading (lurking?) on both sites dedicated to this confusing but intriguing way to make money. Crazy. I just spoke to my partner about it and he is leary, but (surprisingly) willing to let me try it if convinced it won't destroy his computer. We aren't computer savy at all when it comes to trouble shooting, so I want to make sure I don't freak out the system accidently.

I've read that the ccleaner gets rid of cookies and that cookies should be cleared out ideally after each form is submitted. I've also read that some still find cookies in their computer after clearing them out. Does anyone know why this happens? Is this what may cause more denials for some people?

I also wonder about the Casino offers...sounds lucrative. Is there anyone that has really lost playing these? We are always told that the odds are against you (although they may make it easier to win in the beginning to get you to invest more). Your winnings are great, Octobersweethearts! Is this about the best alternative to the ticklers (name?) that everyone used to do (as far as making decent money goes)?

I've gone from thinking, "Wow, I can't wait to start doing this!", to, "This sounds soooo frustrating." I lean towards giving it a try at least.

Thanks to everyone for all the info on this. I will be getting a prepaid card and phone number to use soon...

In casinos, if you only deposit and wager the required amount for the offer, you aren't losing any money. For example, if you did Mocaco Gold on DBP. You would deposit and wager $50 in the casino. You would then make $82.50 from DBP for doing it. Plus, if you won any money, you could cash that out as well. So either way you are profiting at least $32.50 and maybe more depending on how well you play casino games

You wouldn't actually lose money unless you deposited and wagered more money than you would be making from the GPT site.

I made a bit under $300 last month doing mostly freebies (surverys/sweeps) at Deal Barbie Pays and Fusion Cash. I did a few trials I knew were on the up-and-up (blockbuster, gamefly, stamps.com, etc)
I think the best way to get started it to try the totally free surveys, etc at DBPs That way you have nothing to loose.

So how did everyone decide was the best way to share info on the best freebies or trials to do? Some have been mentioned, but is there anyone I can get pm'ed about them? I don't know which is better, getting warned about the bad ones or tipped on the good ones (I guess there are conflicting opinions on some):

Another question: I haven't signed on to any sites yet...is this where someone can get a referral? I'm not sure how it works with referrals, but if I can help someone out, I'd rather do it that way then just signing on.

(I've gotten tons of information from both Octobersweethearts and freespiritmom just from what I've read here, so please let me know if you are interested in getting me started) thanks!

How many e-mail addy's do you have? How many hrs a day do you do this? Does anyone have a list of sites that they use and recommend and are on nthe up & up? Were can I download Roboform free? How do I clear my cookies (I have never done this )? You mamas have been so helpful in others getting started. I am really excited to learn how to do this.

Pm'd you Becky. I sent you my gpt tutorial as well as tips on doing freebies. It's a lot of information but hopefully won't overwhelm you. It does seem complicated in the beginning but it really is all very simple once you understand the programs.

Sherry ~ I have a few sites that I'm active with.. some more than others. I use one main email address for trial offers and I have quite a few for freebies. Once those emails are exhausted then I set up more. I don't really keep up with my time. I just do offers when it's convenient. I might do 30-60 minutes in the morning.. maybe 30 minutes of freebies while dinner is cookie.. then maybe another hour at night when the kids are in bed. Then the next day I might not do any offers until the kids are in bed and I might work for 1-2 hours. Then I might not do anything the follow day. I resent the emails to you a few minutes ago. Hopefully they will come through (check your junk folder). They include recommended sites as well as the link to download Roboform and CCleaner. Let me know if you need any help.

Update on the Simon situation, I got 1/3 of my $$ back. Still waiting for the other $50. My bank thinks maybe they did some kind of pre-auth thing too, which put a hold on the account for that amount but didn't really send the $4 to Simon if that makes sense. We'll see if the other $50 shows back up (the first $25 was just credited this afternoon and I haven't been on the phone to anyone else today).

-does a little dance-

I just make $2.50 on DBP...

How pathetic. I'm happy over 2 dollars. I'm only doing freebies right now as I really dont have time for anything else. I'm still reading through the emails/PMs that were sent to me (reading and RE reading to make sure I "get it"). I did download CCleaner, but I can't get the dealbarbiepays.com cookie to NOT be wiped out. Now, my MDC cookies and yahoo email cookies are safe though...

I'm probably going to have to find a few moments to email Christina and ask her about my laptop and seeing if it' ok to do it from there while at the hospital. (What with the whole IP things and all). I'm hoping there is a way because I'm really wanting to earn SOME type of cash while out on FMLA.... : otherwise I doubt there'll be much of a holiday season for us. Ah well, if not, I'll figure out something else. Maybe I'll practice my knitting if I can't do DBP...

should I go for the trials first, casinos/ bingos, or a little of both? How do the casino/ bingos work? I understand you sign up and make the minimum wager, and then what? do you keep playing there or do you cancel your account and go on to the next offer?

(btw, still waiting for Nascar to credit... : )

: Casino & Bingo Offers :

Here's what I know....

Before you get started, you might want to set up an account with Neteller (www.neteller.com). You cannot use Paypal to make your deposit into the casino. Paypal will not allow deposits into online casino or bingo sites. I'm sure there are a few ways to deposit money into the casino/bingo places, but the most popular (and safest?) way is through Neteller. All of the casinos/bingos use it. It is basically the "Paypal" of the gambling industry. Because of high rates of fraud with online gambling, Neteller is very security conscious and you have to actually speak with a rep after you sign up for an account. They have an 800 number to call and verify your identity.

Once you get a Neteller account, you can then deposit money into it from your personal bank account, credit card, etc. The bank account way is free. They do charge 3.9% for a credit card. If you decide to use a credit card be aware that many cards will decline transactions for online gambling. (I tried 3 before getting an approval!)

After you decide how you are going to deposit the money into the casino, then you are ready to decide WHICH casino/bingo offers to do. There are "Families" of Casinos & Bingos so you need to make sure you check the list before doing an offer. You can only do ONE of each family.

Read the requirements of the offers to determine how much you need to deposit and wager/play (ie, deposit and wager $50, deposit $100 and wager $50). Click on the link to the offer, sign up, and immediately make your deposit into the casino/bingo. Then start playing.

Many if not all of the casino/bingo places give you "bonus money" to play with when you make your deposit. You have to bet the money you put in first and then can play the bonus money.

In the worst case scenario, you blow the entire deposit you were required to make and wager. And your profit is just from the GPT site.

In a better scenario, you win a few hands, lose a few hands and in the process you have met your wagering requirement. You may still have cash that you can then withdraw. For example, if you had to deposit $50 and wager $50, you did that in the course of a ton of hands/games/slots/whatever and you have wagered at least $50, but you still have $85 cash (NOT bonus money - but cash) in your account. So if you want, you could then withdraw that $85 and be head not only the money you made from the GPT sites, but you got your $50 bucks back + another $35 in winnings.

Most casinos/bingo places require you to have a balance of $50 cash to make a withdraw.

If you chose to withdraw your money, you will lose any Bonus money you have been awarded.

DO NOT withdraw your money before you get credit for doing the offer.

Does anyone know if its okay to get your internet phone from one computer (and prepaid cc) but have plans to use another computer to actually work on the gpt sites? If this is going to be a problem, it'd be nice to know now instead of later.

It looks like Im going to have to get my own computer to do this work (or maybe buy and use another drive on the same one?). My dh fears I will crash his computer and lose the thousands of songs he has downloaded this past year. Anyone know if getting another drive would protect his stuff? I really am ignorant as to how all this works. Appreciate any info...

I have no idea about the crashing question, but it is no problem at all to get your internet phone number, etc from one computer and do the GPT sites on another.

I'm not sure how doing GPT programs would crash a computer Regular maintenance should be done on all computer systems to keep them in good shape, and especially on computers connecting the the internet.

You'll be clearing your cookies frequently anyways, so he shouldn't need to worry about that. In my GPT ebook I give some other suggestions for computer maintenance including running a spyware cleaner regularly and doing regular system maintenance periodically.

If he wants another drive for his music then you can buy an external hard-drive at any office supply or computer store. He can put his music there to back it up and to clean off the massive amounts of space thousands of songs must be taking up on your computer. You can buy external drives in just about any gig amount you want to, though of course the more storage it has the more expensive it is.

Yeah, last night DH mentioned (after the little rant about losing his music) that maybe he could do something like that- store the music somewhere else. I don't know why he didn't do this to begin with- he saw how quickly the space disappeared. He thinks if I try to download CCleaner and there isn't enough space that that will crash the system. I would think you would get a window saying "insufficient storage", but what do I know.

Anyway, thank for the info, Skrimpy. We'll figure something out.

Anyway, thank for the info, Skrimpy. We'll figure something out.

If he's worried that downloading a tiny program like CCleaner will crash the system then he needs to do something, because downloading anymore music is going to overload and crash the system : If system resources are the issue then he really needs to figure out another storage method for his music otherwise a system overload is going to happen just from downloading even more music :
