I am going to be so bold as to start this thread.

Since there are new rules I think it is the best thing to do.

I think the sum of the rules are basically we can talk about the programs we recommend and don't recommend as long as we do not use a referral link. (mods please review the following statement) I think that if you pay to have a referral link in your sig then it is ok?

Now I am going to scan some of the previous threads, and quote the information that I think will be helpful and I hope that you all will do the same as well as posting new valuable information.

Good Luck To Everyone!

Well I am sorry to say mamas that there is no pasting from other threads. I had picked out some statements from the last thread and gave credit to the posters of some of the helpful things they said but unfortunately you can't do that. Not a problem I still hope it is okay that I started a new thread.

So sorry mods, I was only trying to help but now I understand the rules.

Good Luck Mamas with your GPTing.

Referral links CAN be in a signature if you've paid for a Business Signature. Referral links are never appropriate within a post. As well, if you have business referral links on your personal blog or website, but do not have a business signature, you cannot link to your personal blog or website as it is no different than linking to a business website.

Thanks for starting the thread! The other threads are getting so long. I have received such wonderful information from reading through every single page of these threads. I have already made over $300 in February from cashduck and I only spent about $25 to make it so that is a $275 profit plus I've got a $50 giftcard from Kohls coming and a $10 for Bed,Bath,Beyond.

Thank you for sharing all this great information!

I've tried to jump on the GPT bandwagon in the past but I was always so overwhelmed by it all! :

So, when a person says I made "X" amt of money in the month of whatever, is that actual CASH or is that including gift cards. I only ask because, well, as nice as gift cards may be.. they don't pay the bills!

Any tips for a beginner GPTer? Tips other than to go back and read the old threads. I've read through some of the threads before and it just confused me even more. LOL!

Several people have put together tutorials with tips, etc. If you would like me to send mine to you just let me know. Some I can think of off the top of my head are:

1. Never repeat an offer.
2. Don't use the AOL browser.
3. Clear your cookies before doing an offer & leave the page open for a few minutes after completion.
4. Keep track of all offers you do - especially the terms & conditions (how to contact customer service, when the trial period ends, what info you used to sign up, etc)
5. Rotate email addresses for the free surveys.
6. You may want to consider using a prepaid CC to avoid unauthorized charges.

Most people I think do ask to be paid by paypal or check but some sites do offer the giftcard option.

mamas, i am FRIED!

I am having more offers denied than credited

I NEVER repeat offers, and I keep detailed records to assure this. I have never used AOL. I run cookie cleaner after EVERY offer. I shut down all of my internet security before doing any GPT stuff.

Anyone who can think of anything that will help me, I am all ears.

Thanks

I was very frustrated with denied offers when I first started. Here are a few things I can think of right now.

Make sure your browser is set to "Except all cookies".

Are you using gmail for your email? I never use the same email more then once(for the freebies), i.e. I use abc@gmail once then I use a.bc@gmail once and so on. I have a seperate email just for the trial offers.

Make sure any web accelarator is turned off.

Turn off any pop-up blockers. You may have more than one program blocking pop-ups.

Are you using IE or Firefox?

Where are you doing offers at? I have some sites that deny a lot more than others.

So happy to see the restarted.
I just started the GPT about a week ago. i feel overwhelmed with all the emails and calls. Yes I have a separate gmail and and separate voice mail. Does anyone respond to all the calls? i can't believe how many you get.
I have only done freebies this week and I am nearing $40. I guess thats not so bad.
I havent tried the trails yet. I am nervous about submitting my social for the offers. Am i alone in this fear? The one trial I really was interested in wont take my PP credit card from our local bank. Again I am too paranoid to put my real credit card out there.
TIA for any feedback you have

I don't give out my SSN on freebies. I've given it out on ones like a credit monitoring service which I really wanted anyway.

You don't have to check your netzero voice mail.

Which trial wouldn't take your card? I very very rarely use my regular credit card.

I suggest you not do Carlton Sheets. I've seen it on several bad lists and I never got credit for it.

Does anyone know how to go about getting a prepaid Visa or Mc gift card to do GPT in Canada????

It seems they are few and far between. None of the big banks around here have them.

How did you all get them?

On-line applications are all for US addresses.

I know a lot of people who've received credit for Carleton Sheets, but I don't think they will accept prepaid cards.

Its been so long! Glad we can finally communicate.

I wanted to say that I entered a contest at DBP and was pleasantly surprised to find that at least 60% of my freebies were accepted. I hadn't done one there for a good three months because I had at least a 65% denial rate there before. Not sure what I did differently. I may have clicked off a pop up blocker on google that I didn't know about. I recently downloaded some software (anti virus/firewall) and diabled my Norton and Spybot. This may have helped, although Im not sure if that means Im just as safe as I was before. I completed 100 offers and was credited $40 by DBP, so that was nice. The person with the most offers had over 250 completed (don't ask me how she did that!)

I like to describe Get Paid To (GPT) like this:

There are sites online that offer you money to try products. Say you want to try the blockbuster deal you have seen offered on tv. If you call and sign up, or sign up online, all you get is the offer. BUT if you go through a GPT site, you can get paid to try the offer. I think Blockbuster is going for over $30 on some sites now. If you sign up through the site, then you get the offer, plus you get paid $30! It is a really fun way to try new products and offers that you may not have been able to afford otherwise and it can add some extra income to you life, which makes really nice!

Not all GPT sites are worth your time. However, there are some really great ones out there. If you want more information about reputable GPT sites, or if you would like help getting started, PM me and I will tell you what I know.

The period trick:
take a gmail addy like momof2@gmail.com (only make yours long so you get more use out of it). that is what you sign up at gmail with.

then when you do a freebie, use it one time that way. next freebie, type in m.omof2@gmail.com, then mo.mof2@gmail.com and so on. You can add many periods, like m.o.mof2@gmail.com or m.o.m.o.f.2@gmail.com.

If you have to enter your email addy on the GPT site, you can just copy and paste the one you used, periods and all.

I got the answer to my question with a little research and I'd like to pass it on to save any of you out there that may encounter this. I am 100% positive I got this b/c of GPT freebies. I know b/c when I enter them, a lot of the time I forget to capatalize certain letters in my address. One letter in particular. That letter in my address on the mail I recieved was not capatalized.

What I received IS a SCAM and they will ask you to deposit the fake check (which looks very real) and then send them a fee (which they word carefully so that you have to read it about 10 times to realize that is what they are saying) of the amount of the check to cover taxes. Then, while you are waiting for your check from them to clear, they take your check to them and run. In my case, I would have been out of almost $4,000!

Anyway, if anyone else gets one of these in the mail, it looks to me like the USPS asks that you report it. I'm going to call them on Monday and see what information they need from me.

ORIGINAL POST
Ok, this is really weird....
I do a LOT of freebies. Of which a LOT are sweepstakes entries. I don't expect to win. So naturally when this came in the mail today, I am thinking scam....

I have a letter and a check, saying I have won in the North America Holiday Travel Reward. I'm supposed to call a customer rep to claim my prize and deposit the check as a guarentee that I want the prize. The check is from a "sponsor" and I looked the company up online. It is a BIG company, but on the check, the zip code is wrong....warning flag to me.

The company offering me the prize is no where to be found online. And it is based in Canada. I can't get a street address to come up on a map. And to call the customer rep, I have to call Manitoba, Canada.

It all just seems REALLY STRANGE! Has anyone else recieved a weird letter like this? DH says it is sort of creepy. I have to agree with him....

A similar thing happened to me. I checked it out on the internet and these fraud companies use real company checks (from other companies) but the accounts have been closed or whatever. So there is never any money behind the check, and like you said, they take your payment to them and disappear.

Good to see everyone's hard at work.

Can some tell me agout the gambling sites at RockHardCash? I'd liek to try one, but am suspicious about the large payout and the sites in general. Why do you get such a big pay out?

Hi moms -

I really don't have anything to say - just wanted to hop onto the new thread.

I will say, though, that I've just passed the $300 mark and I've been at it for about 2 weeks. I'm still hoping it's not all to good to be true, NWIM?

BlessedbyLily - that's awesome! I remember how excited was when I got my first check, around $300.

With the gambling offers - you do want to be careful and check out the cashout terms before signing up. Most casinos require you to wager a certain amount, say 10x your initial deposit, before you can withdraw. Also, many people I've talked to say their crediting rate is 50/50.

Hi. I just started doing GPTs about a month ago. So far I'm only at around $50, but I've only been doing the freebies. I was wondering if someone could send me a referal to a gmail account?
