: I must be having a dense day. These statements seem to me to say two different things.

Is the overall jist that we should avoid posts that solicit or offer services or products, but that if it happens in the course of events that any followups should take place in PMs or emails?

I think someone can post saying "Hey, I'm looking for someone to design my website, any recommendations, or can you do this for me?" and then a web design mama can reply in a PM that she'd be able to help, but the web design mama shouldn't post to the thread "Hey, I'm a web designer and I can do your site for you." At least, that's how I interpreted it, but it's late and I've got a migraine, so I might be completely wrong, LOL!

Yeah, I guess I did word it a bit oddly.

A post seeking recommendations for service or a company, advice or help is okay but any responses that are along the lines of "I can do that" or I sell that" should go to PM. An appropriate response within the thread would be something like "I've worked with Lilly of XYZGraphics and she's great".

Does that make more sense?
