Where do you get your Business Cards? Vista? Someplace else? Is it financially worth it to do it yourself? We have a very nice printer, but full color business cards would drain the ink.

thanks,
~Melissa

Ime, Vista is quick, cheap, and decent quality. They have a lot of customizable templates, or you can upload your own design ($5, I think) if you want something more personal. I get the glossy upgrade, and they look pretty slick and nice.

eta: Also, Vista will send you offers in the email for good discounts on your purchases. If you do use Vista, you can order a smaller initial quantity than you need, and during check out they will offer additional prints of that same item at a discount. So instead of originally ordering 500 cards, for example, order 250, and then they'll offer to let you get 500 for $x more. It has worked out well for me in the past.

I use Greener Printer. Much more expensive than vista but you can get 100% pcw recycled cards and eco-friendly ink all on wind power. I use vista for magnets and stamps.

I like Vista....I just have to be careful because they always seem to try to sneak things into my cart.

I'm going to look into Greener Printer...hadn't heard of them before.

I used Tulip Graphics which is a certified green printer and local for me in Berkeley, but you can order online from them too.

My Cards are printed on 100% recycled content, 50% post-consumer wasted, processed chlorine-free paper.

I paid $65 for 500

I like Vistaprint too. I used them a few times for ordering magnets when they have discount offers. Everyone says the magnets are such a cool idea! (I tried both business card size magnets and the larger ones, with calendars).

well i guess i'm the odd one out!
I ordered mine from officedepot.com I think I paid about $12 for 1000 of them. They are one color of ink, but are embossed, and they let me put quite a lot on there...they have a little template and you can just type in what you want, where you want it, choose from several hundred little icons if you want that, etc. I am totally satisfied with them!

We just used Greener Printer, as well, and the quality was outstanding (high end card stock, crisp inks & graphics). Super speedy turnaround, too. It was more expensive than Vista but the environmentally friendly-ness of the product and company, as well as the great end product made it worth it.

I ordered from Vista once and I am not thrilled with the quality... I am ordering some postcards soon so I will try Office Depot.

Any suggestions of other places to order postcards?

Thanks!

Well, I ordered from vistaprint. Not happy. I ordered in plenty of time to get new cards and flyers printed up for Earth Day Festival (this Sunday). Whole lot of crap, but bottom line is I dont have my cards, my credit card has been charged (we are disputing) and now I have to find an expediated (and no doubt costly) way to get new cards and flyers printed up in the next 4 days. Argh.

I remember not being happy with the quality either. But that was three years ago. I though they may have improved.

Well I found two more that are comparable in price (even you dont get the smaller cards and thin paper like with vista, so I guess it is a better price)
one is nextdayflyers.com, which I cant get to load on my computer today, I did yesterday, but today it does not seem to be up. And the other site is overnightprints.com

we shall see. I liked nextdayflyers.com best because they also offered bookmarks, is the site working for anyone else or is it just my computer being wonky?

Do you have a local kinkos or copy shop? They should be able to help you.

Our vista stuff came really fast, and the quality seems good. Now that I'm buying my own business I might go with a green place this time though!

Thanks for the mention of Office Depot. I'll check them out next time I'm in the city.

I use Vista because it's so cheap.

If I need something quick, I'll go to Staples (same day service).
