DH's family immigrated to the US from Mexico when he was a baby while my family background is East European. We're looking for name suggestions, both boy and girl, that would be considered unique in both the US and Mexico, which pronunciation are not too difficult, and have origins in my dh's culture. Aztec or Mayan names are great. For instance, we really like the name Xochilt for a girl but although it is pretty unique here in the US it is fairly common in Mexico. Name meanings tend to be important to us and we favor nature or spiritual names though they don't need to be religious. We're not opposed to falling in love with a unique name that has no recorded meaning but our preference would probably be to find one with a meaning we could embrace. Names beginning with A are definitely out because of our last name and our son's name begins with a T so we would probably shy away from another T name.
