hi there,

I'm not finding out the sex of my baby, and this time it has me SO curious. One thing that I noticed is my leg hair is barely growing. I heard this was an old wives tale that it was a girl. I don't remember how my leg hair was with DD. I just *knew* she was a girl. This baby is a mystery.

SO, just for fun, I'm wondering of the mamas out there that know (and don't know) the sex of their baby, what's going on with your leg hair?

This seems to be the only old wives tale that seems remotely uninfluenced by my thoughts (i.e. cravings can be in your head, etc). I noticed my leg hair not growing waaay before I read this old wives tale survey. So what do you think? Another girl?

XOXO

I don't think the two are related. Pregnancy hormones in general make your hair grow faster (usually).

I find out in two weeks what I'm having. I'd say my hair is growing a bit faster, but I rarely shave, so it's hard to really tell. The hair on my head seems to be growing faster I think.

Exactly what I thought. Which is why I'm so confused. I just found myself checking my legs in the shower each day going "weird, I still don't need to shave." Then I read that old wives tale, and now I'm wondering.

My hair on my legs is growing so slowly this pg as well, that isn't the case with all the other hair though. I take DD1 to swim lessons and normally I shave weekly even in the winter so I'm not too scary to get into the pool, but I've been going 2-3 weeks between shaving this time around, very odd.

Can't help with you the gender thing, I don't know what this baby is. My other two children are girls and I don't remember less leg hair with them though. I guess we'll find out next month.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

I don't shave and I looked at my leg just now for you the best that someone 30 weeks can see their leg

It seems a little lighter or maybe thinner. I am having a boy.

I love the old wives tales!

I'm crunchy... Like a Dorito.

I voted for this pregnancy - confirmed girl and I don't have to shave. My first child is a boy, and I was a complete ape during his pregnancy. For me, that wives tale is totally true.

Last pregnancy with DD my leg hair really just stopped growing, I mean I seriously shaved like 3x's during my pregnancy. My hair on my head grew over and inch a month, and went from short to shoulder length, it also turned very wavy.

This time I have dealt with m/s(didn't have that with her either), leg hair growing and B.O. Totally convinced it's a boy.

Won't be finding out either until the babes born.

Lol, this is a good poll, b/c I have been wondering the same thing, but didn't want to start a thread about it. I was an ape with my first two pregnancies (and really, I am normally a pretty hairy person), which resulted in boys. This time around, my leg hair has slowed quite a bit AND I have a really horrible complexion. I am thinking it's a girl. I'll find out on Tuesday at my 20 wk u/s and I'll come back to do the poll...

I was pg with my son during the summertime, and I loved it because my leg hair practically stopped growing! So the old wives tale did not hold true for me.

I voted the last option because for one, I dont know gender of this one yet two, with the frist two, I didn't notice an increase in growth, but did notice I got a huge increase of ingrown hairs. ARG! Like my skin thickened up. It drives DH nuts because i'll always want him to scratch my stubbly legs... so not sexy, LOL!!

IDK, its a tough one. I don't know the sex yet (U/S' on the 27th), but I haven't shaved in months - IMO theres just no point in the winter. Nobody sees my legs except DH and he doesn't seem to mind (course' if he did, he'd just have to suck it up, so maybe he just knows better and doesn't bother to say anything??), so whats the point of wasting money on razors and messing about with it this time of year?? I'll start again in april/may when it gets warm enough to wear shorts/skirts/capris again, but till then, meh. No point

How funny to find this poll. I"ve been wondering the same thing. With my girl pregnancies my leg hair seemed to slow quite a bit, with my boy pregnancy my leg hair stayed the same or maybe grew a touch faster. This pregnancy I'm guessing I'm having a boy based on leg hair growth but I'm really hoping I"m wrong b/c I'd love another girl!

Having a girl, and SLOWWWW leg hair growth.

Then again, it may be because I'm not shaving my legs as much (just can't reach anymore... so, my husband shaves them for me when I'm in the bathtub, maybe once a week), and I think that may be making the hair grow slower and softer.

Kelly (28), in love with husband Jason (38) and our awesome babies:  Emma 4/09, and Ozzy 8/10

i naturally have very little body hair, and the hair I do have is very fine and clear. I can go months without shaving normally. This did not change when I was pregnant with my 3 daughters, but when I was pregnant with my son, it was so bizarre - my leg hair got dark and coarse and I had to shave all the time! then once he was born, back to normal. this time, more of the same, so i'm curious if this will be another boy....

I had my baby boy a couple of weeks ago. While pregnant, my leg hair hardly grew at all and my hair on my head became really thick and nice!
