I know that we have come to the conclusion that I am probably just having a messed up cycle but there is one problem. My stomach has majorly popped out and has been this way for a week. I showed very early on with my daughter and I look the same now. I saw my mom today for the first time in a week and she just about fell over. I was just going to forget about all this even though I thought my tummy looked really big and so did DH but we thought maybe we were imagining it. But everyone else thinks I look pregnant too. Even my MIL and she REALLY does not want me to be pregnant but she said right off you look pregnant. I don't have a digital so I can't post pictures but I look quite pregnant, tummy is completely round and firm. Also my temps have not been bobbing all over the place like some thought, they have been high consistently for 25 days, only yesterday for half a day were they down and then went right back up. And I have tons of blue veins on my breasts and tummy and now also on my legs. I have never had this before. With the negative tests I would assume I'm not but what is going on with me. I have had strangers ask me if I'm pregnant. Could I be having a blighted ovum or a molar pregnancy or something? Or could a large ovarian cyst cause all these things? I would just write it off as I'm not but that's a little hard to do with a big belly. I am very scared and don't know what to do. I wish I could post a picture to show you. I look like the average 4 month size belly. I am going to call the doctor tomorrow but I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of something like this happening. Could my hormones be so screwed up that my body actually thinks its pregnant to the point of growing a preggo belly? Help!

Heavenly, I don't have much to say that would be helpful either but I would feel scared too, so I wanted to respond. The only thing I can add is that I have had two friends who had molar pregnancies. (Wierd huh, since they are so rare.) For both, pregnancy tests came back positive, both the over the counter tests and the lab tests. They had the typically high HCG levels of a pregnant woman. So if you've taken a home preg test and it came back negative, then I would guess that it isn't a molar pregnancy. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Let us know how your doctor appt goes.

Hey, I have been following your saga for a while now. Have you gotten a blood test? Or gone to your doc? I think at this point it is time! It sounds like you are preggo. I can only imagine how frustrating this is for you! Get thee to a doctor! And then lest us know what happens!

yes, large ovarian cyst can look like this...
are you tender at all on one side?
feverish?
when was your last pap smear?
cysts also interfere with periods, of course.

An internal exam will be very telling...

let us know...

I agree that it could be a cyst. I have a friend who is about 22 weeks pg and recently had to have surgery to remove a cyst. The cyst made her look 9 months pg and held several liters of fluid. I really think you need to see a doctor about this. Hugs for you!

I tried calling them but they are closed until monday. No I'm not feverish or in pain at all. I had pain on the right side at the end of November which I thought was ovulation but could have been a cyst forming. But what about the blue veins? Is there anything else that could cause this?

I have no idea!

Doesn't it figure the doctor's office is closed until Monday?

When I had the "false" pregnancy, my temps were all over the place, they weren't consitently high.

When I had a blighted ovum, I had a + PG test right away.

Do you think maybe you conceived later than you thought? Like maybe you are only a couple of weeks post ovulation and not a month?

I wish I knew what to tell you! I'm as baffled as you are!

I think that it would make sense that you would look pregnant if you missed the period that is making you think that you are pregnant. That blood is sitting in there, and I would guess that it is probably building up more of a supply, at least until you have you period this cycle. I know of people, myself included, that were really late and we all got pretty swollen. I would definately see a doctor ASAP and have a blood test, although I think that a good over the counter test would come back with the correct results at this point. I am sure that you have invested in that though!! I really hope you are pregnant, but because the tests are consistantly negative, you have a higher chance of not being pregnant. So here is what I think.....

After reading everything that you have been writing about

Start BD'ing as soon as possible and get yourself knocked up!!

hehe...we all want you pregnant!

wife - mother - midwife

CIRCUMCISION

The more you know, the worse it gets.

Thanks for all the help. I have decided to try and lose some weight (I have PCOS and excess weight makes cycles screw up). I am 165 right now and would like to lose 40 lbs. So I am hoping to lose that by June and then start trying in June. We'll see what happens!

There's no way you'll know anything for certain until you get to the doctor. How frustrating that they're closed until Monday, but you've waited this long so the weekend shouldn't be too bad. However, don't delay past that since clearly your mental health is dependent on you resolving this issue, not to mention the fact that if something is medically wrong, you would like to have it addressed right away.

Good luck. Let us know what the doctor says and, in the mean time, don't feel like you have to determine whether you are pg or not or what is wrong -- in the midst of confusion, that is the doctor's job!
