Does anyone have any idea what this could be? It's only been there for a day or so, and it only hurts if I touch it! It's small, perfectly round and at the lower end. I did some research, but couldn't find anything relating to pregnancy. I wasn't sure if this was something that would only occur then, or if it was an impacted gland or something. I am emailing my MW, but won't hear back from her till tomorrow probably, so I think I would ask here too. TIA!!

it could be an ingrown hair, or a clogged sweat gland.

Yup. I'd just try and keep the area clean and dry and it should go away in a few days.

I had this exact thing when I was pregnant and I freaked out and went to see my MW...it was a pimple! (or clogged sweat gland maybe) Basically not a big deal. Warm baths helped it go away. Must be a hormone thing!

Sounds like a pimple to me too. I've had those in the past before, they can be painful, but eventually go away.

Thanks! I am really hoping that it goes away BEFORE I go into labor! It hurts and I can't imagine having all the added pressure on top of that!

I've gotten these before (when not pregnant). If I sit in warm water for about 10 minutes a few times a day, it usually goes away pretty quickly.

It's likely an ingrown hair (cyst) or clogged sweat gland, but it could also be genital warts or herpes. Get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

I had this in my last pregnancy it was pea sized. I called the office, nurse told me it was an ingrown hair and to squeeze it see if anything comes out (really bad advice btw). That really made it worse, must have irritated it because it swelled to the size of a ping pong ball. Then it was really painful, had to be cut open and of course no fluid came out, no infection found. And the ob never could figure out what it was. Whatever you do don't mess with it. I have. Noticed similar bumps since then and they went away in a few days without doing anything

I did a search and saw some pics of the above. It's definately not one of the above! It actually feels a lot like the cyst that my dog has on his tail!! A warm washcloth felt wonderful earlier, so I may just try that later. I do have an appt with my MW on Thursday and will talk to her about it if it doesn't seem to be going away.

Sparkysgirl... There is no way I would try to mess with it at this point!! It hurts too much!

I had one this pregnancy, and thought it was a Bartholin's cyst, but it turned out to be a MONSTER pimple. It popped within 2 days (which was gross, fair warning), and then was no big deal.

ITS CROTCH MRSA!!

jk its probably a cyst, I got 2 (one was huge and painful) after I birthed DS. I was convinced that I got MRSA in th hospital. I hate hospitals. get a REALLY hot washcloth and put it on there. It will feel better and draw out the puss. It will hurt until it pops.

Crotch MRSA!!!!

That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a while! There are actually 3, but only one hurts! I am beginning to wonder if they aren't related to the fact that I have a yeast infection. I will try the hot washcloth tonight and see where that gets me.

Yikes the hot washcloth will be good for the /whatever the pimple like thing is/ but not so good for yeast...
Well, I guess you're kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't...
All I can say is it does not sound like fun.

Sounds like a Bartholin's Cyst to me, too. They're like pimples. I get them sometimes and usually end up lancing them because they're too uncomfortable. Of course, technically you should only allow a medical professional to do that for you in a sterile environment, but I was so uncomfortable that I was willing to take a chance. For me, it's fine. For other people, it makes things worse. I'd talk to your MW and see if she'd be willing to lance it for you if you're worried about it causing problems during your labor.

More info here, if you're curious.

I can't imagine doing anything to it right now!! It didn't hurt at all yesterday, but today it's been torture to walk or sit down. Once I'm there I'm okay, but the shifting of position is pure hell. I am beginning to lean towards sebaceous cyst BTW. It is on the very outer edge of my vulva at the bottom. I think it's where it is that is making it so painful. I have been doing epsom salt baths hoping they will help, but no such luck so far! My MW did say that if I still have it while I give birth the added pressure should help drain it! I'm not sure that's a good thing right now!!
