I'm just over fifteen weeks along but have had this issue off-and-on over the past month or so. When I talk, I sound like I'm congested. Sometimes other people can hear this in my voice, but sometimes I can sense it but others *can't* hear a difference.

It's like when you have a cold and your ears feel all clogged up and your voice sounds like it's vibrating. Usually it tends to happen after I've been nauseous and unable to eat for a few days. Could it just be the lack of fluid and nutrients, or am I a weirdo and just need to discuss this with my OB?

Yep - I've had congestion issues with both of my pregnancies. It just feels like I have gunk in my nose and throat all the time, despite not having a cold or allergies. I've just sucked it up and figured it's one of those annoying pregnancy things. Incidentally, it got significantly worse right after the birth and I had to go get my ears cleaned out. After that, it was 100% better. Hoping I don't have to do that again!

Totally normal. Increased blood volume can cause capillaries in the nose to expand and also hormones related to pregnancy can cause you body to make more mucous. Nothing to worry about as long as you have no other symptoms.

phew! my mom told me that she never had that when she was pregnant with any of us... then again, she also told me that she was hardly nauseous at all during any of her pregnancies. man, she was a lucky one!

I've noticed a really dried nose with blood, congested throat. It goes off and on but it's definitely there. I also went through a period of sneezing. I don't have allergies, and I was sneezing insanely. Sometimes I will get a clogged up nose or a sore throat out of nowhere, that comes with the congestion. I'm not even sick, I feel great, I just have this stuff off and on, more or less off than on, but it can get a little irritating, especially if nose itches me.

I've been congested for both pregnancies. I sneeze a lot (and it is really annoying to sneeze while I have to pee!) and have to blow my nose first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed at night. And my husband says I'm snoring again!

I'm a sneeze-a-holic and I have a constant feeling of mucous in my throat. It makes my voice sound funny and I can't sing (which is tough when your 2yo wants you to sing all.the.time.).

This is certainly annoying.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have had serious congestion since around 5 weeks (before I even knew I was pregnant). I have sinus drainage leading to a constant cough (and mucus in my stomach which was nice when, during my horrible morning sickness, ANYTHING in my stomach made me pukey). I decided pretty early on it was just a pregnancy hormone/increased mucus thing. Around here, if I had asked a doctor about it, they would have put me on antibiotics without blinking, so I never asked.

It's normal. I had it with my first pregnancy, and am just starting to get sneezy this time around. I remember having trouble sleeping because of the congestion. Ick!
