I know it is getting late in the game for us, but we are still having some naming trouble for our little girl who could arrive any time now. All along I have had the feeling that she may be a red head like my oldest son. I was wondering if any of you name experts have ideas for a name for a red headed girl. Here are our naming guidelines:

-We like names that are classic but not too popular (usually nothing in
the top 75 or so)
-We like names with positive/solid meanings behind them
-We usually gravitate toward Latin, Greek, or Celtic names
-The name cannot begin with the letter "s"
-Endings sounding like "an", "en", "in", or "on" are out because of our last
name (for instance, Rowan sounds awful with our last name)
-The names of our current children tend to be fairly short and to the
point (a name like Josephine may be too much if we want it to flow with
the others)

Ideas??
Thanks for your time!!

Mom to ds (7/02), dd(2/04), ds (9/07), and dd 9/09

Cute redheads I know:

I thought for sure my DS would be a redhead ( his daddy is ) but he was born with blond hair. I hope the next one will be a red head though.

I have always loved the name Rory for a girl and think it would be perfect for a little redheaded one!

My redheaded girl is Michelle Elizabeth. I have not yet decided on a name for this one in utero, but am fairly confident I will have another redhead as both of my first two are.

Wow! So many great name ideas! You ladies are awesome!! I can't wait for dh to come home so I can run some of these by him.

It is interesting that many of these are names that we looked at early on, but each of us found a different name that was our favorite (but neither liked the other's favorite name). Perhaps now one of these that were in consideration before will be it for us!!

Thanks again for all the suggestions! If anybody has any more, please keep them coming!

FYI if anybody is interested in specific thoughts:

Penelope is a big one for my dh...he loves it! I like the name, I'm just not fond of the nickname Penny.

I like Bryce for a girl...dh wanted it for a boy with our first, but I like it better for a girl.

I also really like Rory, Poppy, Elise, and Cassidy.

You know, I haven't seen Alice out there too much lately. That is one I didn't really consider before but may need to.

I tried Regina with dh...I love the nickname Reggie and thought he would too (being a baseball fan), but no go. Same with Ruby and Bridget...got a no from dh in the first round.

Pippa is such a charming nickname!!!

Lucy is a family name, but it is already taken

how bout riley?

my ds2 was supposed to be a blond, but he came out with flaming red hair. i had already chosen riley for his middle name. it sounds irishy and i always picture irish folk as being redheaded for some reason.

i found out later that a friend of mine had been planning to use riley for her baby who she knew was a girl, but when her dd came out red headed, she felt emily was a better fit. go figure...

My 3 year old niece is named Penelope, her parents really didn't like the nickname Penny either so she goes by Popi (or Poppy). That could be an option for you.

Penelope Rose has a nice ring to it.

Alissa: married to dh since 05/2006 and mama to Solomon (08/2009) and Ezra (04/2012).

My little red head is a Delia and if I have another girl she has a 50% chance of being red headed and I like Cora. They both are classics of Greek origin. I also like Laila, Nora, Eleanor and Hazel and I could picture them on redheads.
