How early in pregnancy is it recommended you start. I would like to get started and am about 14 weeks right now.

Thanks.

I've heard of some woman starting right when they find out they are pregnant and some waiting until the second and third trimesters. I guess it just depends. when I was about 18 weeks along, I had a midwife tell me NOT to drink it until I was closer to my due date. I have not started yet (i'm 29 weeks), but I'm thinking of trying some out. I take a prenatal vitamin that has RRL in it and I just found that out. (i've been taking the vitamin since the begining of my pregnancy). Here is something I keep seeing:

1 cup of RRL tea daily in the first trimester
2 cups daily in the second
and 3 cups daily in the third
(I think i'm right on this)...

Just from certain things I have read, I think its better start drinking it later on, but thats just a personal preference. Just do your reasearch and decide whats best for you and your babe. Good luck!!

I'm curious as to the answer to this question as well. I just had my first cup a few minutes ago. I'm 34 weeks along.

I'm 33 weeks and will be starting it 2moro. I have heard it's fine to take through the whole pregnancy if you have no issues with your pregnancy. It's all an individual preference.

Everyone reacts differently to it. Some it will cause more contractions/BH and some it doesn't have much outward effect. My suggestion would be to try it and see. I like to take it as soon as I find out because it doesn't seem to cause any additional ctx/bh and it helps provide me with vitamins, etc and tones my uterus. However, I also start slow with one capsule and work my way up as the pregnancy progresses.

I'm now doing 2 cups a day.. I'm using tea bags and it's a very minute amount compared to how much some people who buy it in bulk use, IMO.

the taste is growing on me though!

I want to start right now, but I'm only 4 wks today and had a m/c at 6 wks in September, so I'm being extra cautious.

I drank it from 34 weeks in my pg with DD, but I'll probably start much sooner this time. I really just want to get to a heartbeat before I do anything at all.

For me, it does cause slight cramping (even when not pg), but I think it's GI related. It's great for constipation because of that.
