Lauren - forgot to chime in that I like Lila... but I kinda like it spelled Lyla. I've got a "thing" for Y's and plus I think it helps w/ pronunciation in this case. But that's just me!

He told me that it's very normal to go 10 days after your "edd" as it is not exact. He didn't say anything for induction. When I asked him what I can do to get more ripe he said, ooooh nothing, we don't want to induce now, just give it time. I think he was confused so I said, no I mean like naturally, and he said to just give it time. Well I just DTD with DH haha. Tomorrow I am going to pick up some EPO but I can't find high quality stuff and am iffy in putting it up in my vagina, like it will cause some bad issues or something. :

hence why I like Clara but not Clarabelle. I love the nutcracker and think it's such a simple, romantic name.

I like how the name Lila means purple in German and the february birthstone is a purple amethyst. Silly? maybe. My mom said I should spell it Lilah. I think Lila is still pronounced Lie- la, right?

That's how I read it! Love it, no matter how you spell it. Re: meaning purple, I guess Lilac comes from the same Latin origin in that case!

Teeheee. Too bad you can't turn the darn things around!

AFM - NOT that I am wishing or hoping for twins.. because that would be nuts (although we'd still love them dearly and make it work) BUT!

I love that we've got ALMOST all of the names we need, working w/ Sophie and James, AND that nicknames will end w/ the same sound and have the same number of letters (because I'm caaaa-razy like that! HA!)

If they're girl-girl, they'll be Sophie and Jameson (or Jamison... but I like the spelling Jameson better, even if it is the "boy" spelling). Therefore, Sophie and Jamie.

If they're girl-boy, they'll be Sophie and James... so still Sophie and Jamie. Lol.

If they're boy-boy... um. I have no idea. James and Oliver? Jamie and Ollie? I dunno, I just like the name Oliver. Hehe.

Okay, sorry. Returning to my crazies for now. Sorry for unleashing them on you. I'm sure there's just one babe in there! We just have to wait to see what flavor. Lol.

Just got my test results back. They said they all looked good. I didn't bother to ask for levels, I don't want to know them. If they say they look good, I will trust it and not obsess over it.

Going to have to start cranberry pills too... might have a UTI though it could have been my BV that caused that to show up (according to the nurse)

I love you I took a leap of faith today and bought a Moby wrap. Okay, mom bought it for me. We found it at a consignment store and it was a definite impulse buy. I guess I've been feeling pretty nauseous lately and it's making me optimistic!

LZP - My weeks change on Saturday! And torpedo boobs. Too funny. Mine definitely got bigger (and droopier), though not torpedo status. I did go up a size around! That just seemed weird, but I'm definitely only fitting in a couple of my bras. The others feel like they are strangling me... (Just wait until all you first-timers get your milk in. Holy porn boobs. Its ridiculous for a day or two.)

Lauren31 - I like that your doctor seems pretty laidback about the possible overdue situation. I so want to avoid induction this time around... my labor/delivery with DD was just horrible. I was induced because of failure to progress (my bag of water had broken)... and I'm really, really, really hoping to progress on my own this time around.

Quote:
He is not comfortable with my belly and always thinks he is going to hurt the baby.
I've mentioned to DH we will need to start getting a little more creative in the next few months. I am way less interested these days, I was really hoping for the 2nd trimester libido boost, but it didn't happen. (sigh) (DH was probably hoping it would happen too.)

Lyndzies - The pulling and cramping is normal. I had an evening around 6 weeks that I was SURE was abnormal - such bad cramps. I remember laying down on the couch and really being worried. Even after hearing the heartbeat, seeing the baby, feeling the baby... you still continue to worry - when Caleb is quiet for a little while I keep poking my belly to get him to move. I'm so mean!!!!

As for the BBs being sore/not sore... mine eased up on the soreness around the beginning of the 2nd trimester. However, in the past two weeks they are sore again - only when I first get up in the morning. One of my weekly pgcy emails mentioned there are some big tissue changes going on at this point... so that may account for it.

Carlyle - Thank you for the babywearing summary! You are just what us "newbies" needed!

I do like the Moby wraps, but with a June/July baby I'm worried I'll be way too hot. I do want to be able to use it out and about... and I don't tolerate being hot very well! I love the way the ring slings look, just so beautiful with the long tail. But I'm not super coordinated, and the wrap looks intimidating, so then I think a nonadjustable pouch-sling would be best... just put it on and stick baby in (but some of those look hot too). I still have some time... I just don't know many babywearers near me (my SIL does, but she's in a far away different state). So anymore BW tips would be GREAT!

And for nausea!

And 10 lbs 7 oz? I'm so proud to have delivered my DD at 9 lbs 8 oz. Your DD had a whole pound on my DD! My nephew was 10 lbs 11 oz... and really did look like a 3 month old at birth.

MaerynPearl - Great to hear all tests came back good! 100% cranberry juice is good too - not cocktail, like the stuff you'd buy in the crunchy section of a store. I drink it mixed with some water. Lots of fiber in it too, which is always helpful when PG!

AFM - DH felt Caleb move last night!

He gave me a couple good kicks or punches and I was right next to DH on the couch, so I got him to quickly put his hand on my belly. He felt at least three. Not sure what baby was doing in there, but some sort of aerobics. It was very nice of Caleb to share with Daddy, as I know he'd felt left out.

Then last night I had a horrible and very real "babyloss" dream... and woke up frazzled and had to poke my belly until he moved. There is just no relaxing from the worry... even in sleep.

Hope everyone continues to do well and feel okay!

Lauren- I'm sorry you're a little disappointed in your "lack of ripeness." I think you got a lot of good tips with your thread in the general preggy forum- it's probably a combo of first-timer-ness, and your little girl just being so cozy in there. it will happen, it just has to; it's the way we're made.

Lis- YAY for kicks that DH can feel! he must be thrilled. I am so looking forward to that time, bc I know my DH feels left out too.
RE- babywearing- do you have any crunchy stores near you in which you could try on a few? we'll have an August babe, and around here that meand 98% humidity and 90 degree heat... so I think the wearing might have to start in the cooler evenings of September (except in the house with some AC pumping )

Yes, thanks Carlyle for the tips! now all you have to do is fly out from Cali and give us a little demo. where would you like to meet? I'm glad your pukeyness is starting so you can feel excited about picking up some things- and nice score of the Moby at a thrift store!!!

Lyndzies- you are definitely getting preggo brain!!! that little twin frenzy had me cracking up! I hope you're feeling good today.

AFM, I keep having weird dreams about nursing- well, not being able to nurse. and dreams that I forget to change diapers. and more dreams about not being able to nurse. it's so weird, and starting to make me wonder if it's an omen? Regarding torpedo boobs, my DH already says, "women pay for bbs like that." when i'm not pg... so now, well you can imagine. Porn star now, and probably just plain indecent when milk comes. i'm a little nervous actually, for size, and how I will wrangle those things around. (and poor baby!!)
my DDC is pretty quiet too... now the Sept and OCt DDCs are like hoppin' parties... and August is like a post every 2 hours... and it's usually me! HA!

what else? my appt with the MW is on Friday. I'm excited, bc I've been getting "bad' feelings the past few days and I hope we can hear the HB on the doppler. I think it's bc women in my DDC are still having MCs, and I'd like to think we're mostly in the safe zone, and it's just SO SO hard after they've come so far. I feel terribly for them. After a loss, i'm just not 100% confident 100% of the time... or even 50% of the time. Trying to meditate on it, but well.. I usually just fall asleep when I start to meditate!

Thanks girls for checking in on us and stalking us! I'm excited for more of you to join in here.... SOON!!!!! PLEASE!!!

Thanks- I really hope that the cervix ripens right up when it is suppsoed to. Personally, I think I ovulated a few days after my EDD so who knows. I just do not want want to be pressured into an induction or a c-section... I just have weird fears about the cervix NEVER ripening and me never going into labor. UGH.

Is it at least a good sign for you, or did you ever get it really badly with a miscarriage? I wasn't quite this nauseous feeling with my miscarriage, so even though it sucks (and it doesn't suck NEARLY as bad as HG...I can't imagine), it definitely has a bit of a silver lining for me.

i was sick with my miscarriage though that was so long ago and a really tragic experience that I sort of blocked out how bad it was. I know with DS it was worse... but it wasnt that bad with DD. My miscarriage was a missed miscarriage, the baby measured 6 weeks and I lost it at 13 but I remember very much still feeling pregnant up until the day after the bleeding started (even though it was a couple days after my ultrasound that measured the baby at 6 weeks with no heartbeat)

So afraid Im going to have to come up with two more baby names lol...

DFs cousin (who is due 2 weeks after I am) dreamt that I had twins. My brother told me it was twins when I told him I was pregnant (apparently he already knew I was pregnant before I did even) and my daughters been saying Im going to have two babies since months before I got pregnant.

I know... in my heart... there is only one in there. But I still have that fear.

Well, I made it to my "due date"! No baby. I also talked to the doctor and told him that I charted and my O date said my due date is actually February 8th. He said that a date based on temps and ovulation is much more accurate then what the American doctors said my due date was based on an ultrasound. Yay for German doctors believing that a woman DOES know when she conceived! hahaha. So basically he said they have no qualms about going over the 8th of February and we will just take it day by day.

Thank goodness, Lauren! Sorry you arent having any signs of that little girl coming yet, I can imagine you're beyond ready to meet her face to face!

So glad that your Dr is good with pushing back your "official" EDD. that will help alleviate some pressure. I'm sure they're less likely to induce over there, too, atleast, less so than here.
Even at the birth center where we plan to deliver, they have a strict 42 week limit. if I go past 42 weeks, i HAVE to go to the hospital. I guess that 14 days is just toooooooo risky. Ugh.

I decided to try out my doppler again last night. found that little one right away this time, but he kept moving! that was a good thing, but also frustrating, because i'd hear a little thump thump and then have to chase him around.

Yup, i'm pretty sure it's a boy. I've had like 8 boy dreams, maybe only 1 girl dream. Maybe it's just because at first I thought I'd not be as excited about a boy, and now I'm really starting to like the idea. who knows.

LZP - My SIL has babyworn, though she lives in Texas, but said when she comes to visit after Caleb arrives she'll bring some she doesn't use anymore. However, through a site she directed me to (babywearers.com) I found a great website, with great reviews, on a lady that makes very reasonably priced CUSTOM ring slings. I'm thrilled, because I love the ring slings, they are so beautiful, and you can add accent fabric and a pocket to the tail. I can't wait to order mine!!!! I figure that will work for a newborn, and for an infant, and won't be terribly hot.

I have friends with very large chests and they find the football hold the most comfy way to nurse, so you aren't suffocating baby. You may want to explore that hold once baby comes! And I wouldn't worry too much about breastfeeding... most women can (though it can be tricky at first - but 100% worth it)!

Its cute you are having boy vibes! I didn't have any vibes until about a week before the u/s. The boy name just seemed right for "it". The girl name we liked was so nice, but when I thought about the name, "it" just seemed like Caleb fit. Weird.

I don't think we can be 100% confident. I feel like I've lost some of the naivete I had when PG with DD... so many mamas on here have had a loss at various gestations... it just makes it too real. I feel better with my little squirmy and kicky Caleb - and I don't like to think about the "what ifs" - but they do sneak in there occasionally.

Let us know how your MW appt goes!

Lauren31 - I'm glad they won't be pushing induction on you! She'll come when she's ready! They will monitor baby's fluids and stress after the 8th, though right? I do feel that is important!!!

MaerynPearl - I diluted the cranberry juice a lot. Like 15 to 1. It helped me drink more water when I didn't feel like it. I hope you don't end up with HG! I was nauseous with both, but never had the pukes.

AFM - Felt Caleb from the outside again yesterday. So much fun... I love this part.

My nausea is back... well, its a heartburn/reflux thing going on (that I didn't get with DD until around month 6) and it makes me feel super nauseous. Thankfully my doctors office okayed Pepcid or Zantac. Because Tums DO NOT WORK. I was getting afraid to eat!

I decided along with BW (I'm getting so crunchy over here ) I'd also like to part-time CD this time around. I found a great site that offers "starter kits" and a whole bunch of info because it is also a whole new world to me. My Mom CD'd with my little brother, but that was in the days of flats with pins and rubber pants. I'm excited! And, since my paycheck will be smaller as a WAHM, it will in the end, save us some money when baby needs a diaper change 10+ times a day.

Its getting worse every day. The only consolation is Im starting to think my miscarriage was never THIS bad. But then again, neither was DD and she is quite healthy lol.

My Dad has been added to the twins dream list. Told me hes been dreaming regularly that I have two little boys.

4 more days til my ultrasound... *sigh* I'm going to feel SO much better when I see only one little tribble in there lol.

Mae - I keep thinking twins, and my mom keeps accidentally pluralizing (babies instead of baby).

We'll see!

I think I'm just using "maybe twins?" as an excuse for this belly I already have at 6 weeks.

Ugh.

Yup, i'm pretty sure it's a boy. I've had like 8 boy dreams, maybe only 1 girl dream. Maybe it's just because at first I thought I'd not be as excited about a boy, and now I'm really starting to like the idea. who knows.

Yep, it makes me excited to meet her too! And kinda nervous at the same time. Maybe that is what is keeping her in there. I just feel like my life will change so much, I am enjoying the freedom I have right now!

Thanks, I am so happy they are not inducing yet either! They will check fluid levels on sunday or tuesday. Not sure, I think they check that once a week if it's normal... who knows, he seems to just believe that "nature" is the best way, it will tell us what to do, it will tell the baby when to come, etc. It's slightly odd and refreshing hearing this from an OBs mouth!!!

Well, MIL is here, it's definitely interesting dealing with her and the two year old she has. LOL. riiiiiight.... there goes my relaxing babymoon. LOL. I guess it's the price I pay for living overseas.

I would not be disappointed by two... but would prefer one. If we have twins, this is my last pregnancy if we have one then we will discuss having one more in the future (we already discussed having this discussion lol and what all it will entail.)

Dunno how much I posted about my gramma going to the hospital in here...

found out she has cancer. Not sure what kind, all Ive been told is it was found during her GI endoscopy (which was both upper and lower so there's no way for me to even guess where it was)

At this time they said they aren't going to do anything and go back in 3 months and check it out again

ETA - they removed polyps with a biopsy and tested them which is how they found out it was cancerous, they think they got it all so will not be doing anything about it.

I have to go into today for heart monitoring for 30 minutes. They do this every two days here after your EDD. It's kinda annoying, but eh. I have been having period pain almost in my lower pelvis every 10-26 minutes all night, a general feeling of constipation although I have pooped and blood in my discharge. Like pink discharge... hmmm.... I was hoping to hold out as my hubby is a huge saints fan so we will see! hahaha
