yesterday and today in the afternoon i have been having a cold, tingly feeling in my face. specifically, my cheeks. it doesn't go away after eating or drinking, although i do constantly feel like my blood sugar is low. i also haven't been taking my prenatal vitamin. i'm 7 weeks pregnant.

what could this be? has anyone else experienced this? is this diet related?

here's what i've eaten today: cornflakes, sweetened plain yogurt, ginger tea, potato leek soup, saltine crackers, spoonful of peanut butter, three green olives, water.

Bell's palsy (temporary numbness/tingling and possible drooping of the face) is common in pregnancy. It usually comes on quickly and fades once the baby is born. Maybe give your practitioner a call and see what they think. It usually only affects one side, though - is yours bilateral?

Could also be dehydration - are you drinking enough?

thanks for the reply.

no, it's definitely on both sides. i think i am drinking enough--i don't usually drink a lot of liquids, but i have been drinking quite a bit of ginger tea with each meal to get it down...

i would call my midwife if i had one that i trusted, but the medical care here (peru) is so shoddy, it's probably not worth it.

I have type 1 diabetes, when my blood sugar dips below a certain point (usually below 40 mg/dL) my tongue, lips and nose get numb and tingle.
