I'm wondering at what point I need to go to the hospital for fluids. For about twelve hours I haven't been able to keep food, water, or diclectin down, and I'm starting to feel kind of woozy. I'm going to be alone in the house for some time, so I'm getting kind of nervous.

Some background: I had moderate M/S for the first twelve weeks of my pregnancy, then it disappeared. With that M/S I never threw up for 8+ straight hours as I have today. I would throw up first thing in the morning or after a meal, and then be able to hydrate myself after that. Now I'm 14 weeks - at 13 weeks I saw an ultrasound of a healthy LO.

I do not have a fever or diarrhea, so I don't think I have a stomach bug.

I'd go in now, personally.  I don't think it's wise for you to be left alone right now either.  Hope you're feeling better soon.

I would go too, it's just too easy to get dehydrated while pregnant.

Dizziness is when I would go in. It's a symptom of dehydration. Also if you have stopped urinating or if your urine is very concentrated.

Glad your feeling better...I have really bad sickness during pregnancy also, I will be 38 weeks tomorrow, and I am still taking zofran daily...but in the beginning of my pregnancy, I would say I had to go to the hospital atleast 5 times from being dehydrated from throwing up...Good Luck! :)

Oh dear. It's started up again this afternoon with no warning, and I'm worried if it continues I'll have to go back like the ER dr. suggested.

At least we have a nice small town hospital with no wait in the ER.

i work in an environment that dehydration is a constant issue, not being able to keep small constant sips of fluid down is a warning sign never to be ignored regardless of what else is going on. if you are vomiting and can keep things down please always deal with it, IV fluids can be an amazing lifesaver
