Just wanted to pop in and say I'm still pregnant and measured 45 weeks at my appt today.  (oppsie).

Was strongly urged to lay off sugars and drink tons of water (my ankles/feet are hams) and get some walking in.

Stopped in at Target on the way home to do laps and it took every ounce of strength in my swollen body not to buy 14 bags of Dove valentine chocolates.

I get the pleasure of a NST on Saturday.  Yee haw!

Hope everyone is well and please feel free to send some labor vibes my way....

Sending you lots of GOOD labor vibes mama! Maybe that baby will be here BEFORE that NST on Saturday!! goodvibes.gif

I just got back from my 32 week U/S at the peri's office (I'm 32weeks tomorrow). The babies are ENORMOUS. I'm a bit scared, thinking well, maybe I DO have GD issues, even though I took the 1hour breakfast GD test like a month and a half ago and passed. Baby A is 4lbs 10oz and Baby B is 4lbs 9 oz. AND to top it off, they're both STILL freakin' transverse. *SIGH* The Peri wasn't very optimistic about them turning because "they're just soooo big" but I'm not giving up. HE said external version for twins is too risky, but my OB told me initially that if needed he could do it (in the hospital with a u/s machine). So ?? I'm stressing over the possibility of a C-section now. After EVERYTHING I've done to prepare for this perfect natural birth, now this. Trying not to get too discouraged yet, but wish he had been more encouraging about the possibility of them turning... :(

Nanette- oh no! Sorry. I hope you get your natural birth.

Finnegan- thinking of you.

As of today I have 8 little eggies at the RE's office. Please feel free to send them lots of love and good vibes.

Hugs to you both: hug and sending you labor vibes and, um, flipping over baby vibes (is there such a thing?) to you.

Nanette- thanks for the ice advice. I iced my butt for like 15 minutes before the hsg shot and didn't feel a thing.

Mom to DS 12/07 and DD 11/13, plus a bunch of chickens, dogs, and cats.

Sending lots of goodvibes.gif to those eggs!!! Do you know yet when you're going in for your transfer?? That's so exciting! It feels like yesterday we did that :) And ROTFLMAO.gifabout the ice on the butt thing- I am glad you didn't feel anything- those progesterone shots were a bi&*h, I still got bruises, but at least I didn't feel that killer needle ;) Good luck mama! I'm looking forward to adding you to the list!!!

Nanette - crossing fingers those babies move for you, and you get the birth you want.

RCR - that's great news, i hope you are joining us very very soon!  fingers crossed everything is smoother sailing from here.

AFM - 40w4d today and heading to the hospital for an US and a nST later today to check in on things.  This weekend would be great, but this baby appears to be stubborn.  I'm really ready at this point.  My last came at 40w6d which is Monday.  I think once I get to 41w I'm going to start getting really anxious....

Good luck with the U/S and NST mama! I was thinking about what I would do if I went over my DD and I started laughing because I thought of this you tube video I watched a while back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSreZ-rmy7g

I'm sure my DS (now almost 7!) would love to put on a mask and scare me into labor....
Maybe you should try it mama!!!

PS- Was inspired by some of the ladies in my DDC, and thanks to some much needed help from fellow BSL Kalamos, managed to knit my first wool soaker. My teddy bear model is a little too fat for it, but you get the idea :)  (Oh and disclaimer- DH picked out the camo wool- I was a little hesitant, but it DID turn out kinda cute)...

Nanette, that's adorable! And way to go with your creativity and motivation! orngbiggrin.gif I'm sorry your little kiddos aren't positioned for a natural birth yet. Have you tried yoga? My prenatal yoga instructor keeps saying how effective it can be for turning babies. I hope they get themselves into position soon!

finnegansmom, how did the appointment go yesterday? I can't imagine how ready you must feel. I hope you have this baby soon!

rcr, I said this elsewhere, but I am so happy to read about your miracle embies!!!

How's everybody else doing?

I don't know what's up, but I am feeling so not post-y. Did this happen to anybody else? I just don't know what to say, and I think it's because I'm feeling lots of worry and don't want to verbalize it. I'm trying to send just happy, positive, glowing thoughts to our little one. We have our next appointment a week from Friday, and we'll hopefully find out the gender then. I'm still feeling what I *think* is movement, on and off. DH can't wait until he can feel it too, and I honestly can't wait until I can feel it strong enough to know that it's DEFINITELY baby. I'm feeling a lot better the last couple days. It's weird: I whine whenever I feel yucky, but it really is reassuring to feel nauseous. I am sending the baby healthy growing vibes in there: keep it up, little one!!! Hope everybody else is doing well! Hugs and love!

Nanette - that's adorable!  Good for you, I can't knit at all.  I've tried, I just don't have the patience.  I love woolies for babies.  Adorable.  You should knit some cute sleep sacks, I LOVED using them on my son as newborn, looks like it might be easy since it's just a tube with ribs on the top and bottom (and so easy for late night diaper changes).

Tear - I kind of know what you mean.  I felt for a while after hitting the 2nd trimester that speaking about the pregnancy was "pushing my luck".  I couldn't even muster telling people IRL until close to 18 weeks...i hope your next appointment goes well, I bet you'll both be feeling the baby soon too.  That's so reassuring.  :)

I'm 40w5d today, kind of blue.  I googled "41 weeks pregnant" tonight just to see if I could have some reassurance and the first link I clicked to was a story about a 41 week loss.  :(

My NST went well, the baby was VERY VERY active although my BP was high the first reading, it came back down to normal/low.  I do have a lot of fluid, which they didn't make a big deal of (I measured 45 weeks at my 40 week appt).  I'm hoping it's nothing, if you search for alot of amniotic fluid, of course it pulls up not so good things.  Why do I even bother to go on the internet?

I'm tired and trying to stay sane, didn't do much today except take a long bath and eat egg sandwiches (WEIRD craving for me).  I have my next NST and US on wednesday, hopefully that will be my last.  I'm not sure I can mentally reach 42 weeks without full on anxiety attacks.  I'm trying to decide if I'll let my MW strip my membranes on wednesday (if she even could since I'm not dilated and the baby has unengaged from my pelvis as I found out yesterday).  Oy.

Hope everyone else is well - sorry to be a downer tonight.

Hugs Michelle! I know it really isn't any fun at all to be at that point. I went to 41wks and 1 day with my first. I did have my mw strip me at the 41 week visit, I was 3cm for forever and that seemed to push me into labor. I know you know this but I promise you won't be pregnant forever!! You can do this!!

Hi Ladies, sorry I've been MIA!

Michelle - I hope since your last post something exciting has happened, but if not, hang in there! (Easy for us to say, I know.)

Tear - I'm so excited that you think you are feeling the baby! As for your feelings, I think after all you've been through you are entitled to feel however you feel. I hope once that baby gets boisterous you can alleviate some of the fears. However, this baby and parenting business is always a scary and emotional thing - even once they are OUT! I can't wait to hear about your next appointment... and the gender! joy.gif

RCR - I hope great things are growing at the RE's!

Jane - I don't think I ever officially welcomed you over here... orngbiggrin.gif Congrats on a healthy bean on the ultrasound. That is a great thing to see!

Nanette - Sorry those boys are being stubborn. DS moved at around 36-37 weeks, but then he was alone in the womb. I hope they move for you, but if not, that all goes otherwise well and you'll have healthy CHUBBY twins!

I'm sure I missed a few, but I don't like posting in the new format. Its slow and I'm always losing posts. Caleb will be 8 months in another 10 days. He cut his first tooth last week! He's totally trying to crawl, but can't seem to get his legs to cooperate. I know it will be soon though - and then watch out house!

He is so happy and has totally found his VERY LOUD voice the past week or so. He sure can scream! Sleeping pretty much fell by the wayside with the tooth eruption - and he's waking again at night to nurse like a 3 month old. This too will pass though, and for now he's just so cuddly and fun!

Here is a pretty recent picture... (poor kid is never going to get hair!) orngbiggrin.gif

Aw, that's ok to feel not-so-posty.  I seem to post a lot but not as much as when I was TTC.  Funny that.  Our u/s appointment is Mon 2/28 (so right after yours) and we also hope to find out the gender.  I also hope that it comes back healthy and normal.  For a lot of reasons, but one rather silly one is that we're leaving for a vacation for a week the next day.  I'd hate to be worried sick about something that turns out to be nothing (deja vu back to our week when we had an empty sac).  I've thought about waiting until we get back...but I also really want to see the baby again!

That's neat that you're feeling the babe.  Me too!  It feels like little tickles and "stroking" from the inside.  It's still weird enough to make me doubt what I am feeling, but DH is sure!

Hi!  We had our baby early Saturday morning!  Not exactly the easy, natural birth we had hoped for but as we all know about best laid plans...

Being 11 days overdue, carrying that much extra fluid (which really affected the progression of labor) and being in early labor for 2 days just sucked the life out of me.

But he's perfect!  Henry Beckett, born 4:02am on Feb 19.  10#5oz and 22" long, 15.75" head.  He's already like a 2 month old.  :)

We are still resting, I had some bleeding issues so I'm on "bedrest" which is impossible with 2 other kids but just putting away one load of laundry yesterday almost had me passing out so I need to lay low for a few more days.  Hopefully my milk will come in today so he can sleep better, he literally wanted to nurse from 9pm to 8am this morning.  Ouch.

Here's a link to the detailed birth story

Hellooooo!!! So sorry that I've been MIA for a million years. I think about you all, and I'm just too tired and lazy to write more often.

So, first, Congrats to all the new baby mamas, through birth, and through pregnancy!!!

Welcome to the BSLs who have moved on over!!!!!! Wahhoooo!

I will do my best with personals, I can't remember everything that I've been wanting to say over the last ooooh- 3 months- but I'm just oh so tired, my memory just doesnt serve me the way it used to. aaaah motherhood. I really do love it. love.gif

Tear, I stopped feeling post-y while I was preggo too, but I dont know that I could figure out why. Your reasons sound pretty reasonable, and no one would fault you. You've had one of the longest roads in our little group here. lots of hugs to you, and yippeee!! for finding out gender soon. how fun.

Lis, Caleb is adorable, teeth, expensive taste in food, lack of hair and all!

Nanette - big squishy twins! OMG, that is just fabulous- you're doing a great job, mama! I hope those boys turn for you.

finnegansmom- CONGRATULATIONS!! he is beautiful. he and I share a birthday. :)

jessica_s - very belated congrats to you to. I'm so happy for you!

rcr- did you do the transfer yet? I can't get back tot he previous page with this format. when it happens, sending you super sticky vibes, and giving you a non-jinxing premature welcome over here. :)

Carlyle- havent seen you in a while. Hope you're well with little Maggie and big sister Nell!!

YYYM- you never post here either, good thing I stalk you on FB!

Maurine, I dont know that I congratulated you, so it's really late, but congrats, mama! what a long time coming. I remember you from te TTC forums back when we had started TTC, around the same time I think (the One). big hug.

Lyndzies, hope being back at work is getting easier to tolerate. It's not great, but like you said, the benefits it provides to your family are worth it. Thanks for sharing photos of your beautiful girl.

I know I have forgotten many ladies, and many comments to which I wanted to respond. I'm really sorry.

Now AFM - I'll TRY to be brief.

AV is doing well. She was 7 months the day before my b-day, which was the 19th. I cannot BELIEVE how quickly this time has gone. Too fast. DH and I are still getting the hang of it. seems like as soon as we feel like pros, she throws something new at us. We've been dealing with sleep issues for months now. Not really issues- but I just dont get a good night's sleep anymore. To my dismay, we've moved her into her crib, since none of us, including AV, were sleeping well while co-sleeping. she was being awakened by us very frequently, then wanting to nurse back to sleep, like every 45 minutes. seriously. it was a long month before we made the tearful decision to move her. Now at least she is only waking every 45 minutes for the first 3 hours (that's another story...), then sleeps in 3 hour increments. she still wants to eat every 3 hours at night, I dont know if it's habit or hunger. I dont really mind that though, I miss her at night, and i know that our nursing time will come to an end someday... so I'm in no hurry to cut out the night nursing while I can handle it.

she is sitting up, working on crawling, fighting sleep at first, fighting naps- though she used to be a fantastic napper. (I could put her down, say, "night night." and she would sleep for 2 hours... not so anymore!)

and most importantly- I QUIT MY JOB!!!! I phased myself out, worked from home for 3 weeks then gave my notice and stopped working 2 weeks ago. I'm a full time SAHM now!  It doesnt quite feel real right now, I thought it would be a much more momentous event. I still feel like I'm taking extended vacation time from work. I have to remind myself that i should do things around the house, since i really have no excuse now! It is fantastic to be able to spend so much time with AV, especially since it seems like she is changing every day now! she screeches in excitement when she sees me or DH, screams along with loud noises, including children and loud music. its adorable. we're working on the sleeping thing. I'm trying to meet other moms around here that are like-minded, since i dont have many friends with kids around here. or any, really.

I feel like while I was working, I was just surviving. Just making it through each day, and barely keeping work or home life together. Now, I feel like we're working toward recovering, but I'm still behind on cleaning and laundry. just ONCE i'd like to be caught up!! dont think that will happen.

I miss you all. Maybe if AV gets better at sleeping, and I stop being a vegetable during her short naps, I will come back and post more often.  also, i feel a little out of sorts in my former DDC. I was due in August, but had AV in July. in the beginning, it was a vast difference between what she was doing and what other August DDCers were doing. But I didnt want to barge into July. silly, yes, but i felt like i didnt have a place to go with my concerns except the general forums, where I didnt often get answers. so silly. must have been in a cloud of postpartum hormones.

OK, I thnk that's enough for now, I need a snack. DH is traveling again, and well... i eat snacks while he's away. :)

love to all, hope everyone is doing fantastically!!!

The babymoon isn't over! Our long awaited A born 7/18/10, making us laugh and smile every day.

LZP - Nice to hear from you!  Sorry that AV is having sleeping problems.  I hope they iron themselves out!  I am due in early Aug (this year) and sometimes I worry that I should be posting or keeping up with the July DDC.  Maybe I'll start, just to sort of get to know people there.  (And can I just say, what a wonderful problem to have...which DDC to post in!)

That's great that you quit your job.  Hooray!  Don't worry too much about catching up on housework.  You're only 2 weeks into it!  It will probably never feel "done" and no one said that you were obligated to do it all as a SAHM.  Right now my DH is a SAHH (stay at home husband) and he does all the housework, but not really.  We just deal with a little dirt in the corners.  :)

Hi All!

Michelle - Congrats on Henry's arrival! He's so cute and chubby... reminds me of Caleb, but 1 pound heavier! I'm glad that all went well with your birth, even though it wasn't what you'd hoped for. Mine wasn't either, but at that point all that matters is a healthy baby in your arms at the end!

Liz - So good to hear from you!!!! orngbiggrin.gif I'm happy to hear that you and DH are able to swing you not working. Enjoy being home with AV! All those milestones you'll get to see firsthand are priceless!

Sorry to hear about the sleeping issues. Caleb had a setback a couple weeks ago when he cut his first tooth. Is AV showing any signs of teeth? He's cutting his 2nd tooth now, but it seems to be bothering him a little less at night. He still wakes to nurse at night (and was doing every 3 hours during the tooth eruption). He is so distracted to nurse these days that I enjoy the night nursing, since he actually NURSES for longer than 4 minutes.

I forget how close in age AV and Caleb are really - he was 8 months yesterday. He is also trying to crawl, can get back to sitting from his tummy, and can pull himself up at the bathtub (for some reason only there), though not the safest place!

TEAR!!!! I'm awaiting your u/s and hopeful gender announcement today!!!!!!! I hope you get there safely with this crazy weather! cold.gif

Hi to everyone else (Sorry this isn't longer, but I dislike posting in the new format... all my type is delayed for some reason! eyesroll.gif)

Liz- that's sooooo cool that you're an SAHM now! Enjoy your first few weeks with her full time, and catch some z's! The housework will still be there when you feel up to it  ;)

OMG, I just updated our first page and realized: I'm next and I'M NOT READY YET!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!

I'm starting to freak out a lot these days, feeling completely and utterly unprepared. Doesn't help that my OB is driving me CRAZY with his testing: "Oh, your BP is a little high. Time for a 24 hour urine culture and every blood test known to man. Ok everything's fine, you don't have Pre-E, but your platelet levels have dropped a bunch. Go re-take that blood test. Ok your platelet levels went up, so everything looks ok (for now)."  I wonder what he's going to frighten me with next visit? All my NST's have been golden (I do one every week now).

The peri, on the other hand is so laid back that THAT'S stressing me out. "Your BP is a little high, watch your diet, and take some more folic acid."  "Your hands are swollen and numb? Go stick them in ice water, and stop eating so much salt." "Baby A is still transverse, but he can turn right up to the minute you go into labor, so keep swimming and seeing your chiropractor."

I think I'm just THAT hard to please...

Anyway, going to see the peri today, and get an update on baby weights. 34 weeks today- holy cow!

lol, I've been dying to post about this all day, but I can't reach my sister and I refuse to let her know over Mothering. upsidedown.gif I think she's without power, cause they got a lot of snow last night. I'll say this much: our baby is healthy-looking and adorable and wonderful!

Nanette, how exciting for being next! You'll be wonderful! How did your appointment go today?

Lis, wow Caleb is getting teeth already! How are you guys liking the snow today? It was very slippery this morning on the way to the OB, but it's beautiful.

Liz, it's so good to hear from you hon! I'm sorry about the sleeping issues, that sounds really tough. Hopefully now that you're a SAHM (yay!!!!!) that will get easier. I'm so excited for you!

Maurine, how are you feeling? Any recent ultrasounds? Are you going to try to find out the gender?

I'm still on and off nauseous (wth?!) but I still will take that as a positive thing for having a healthy baby. I have to go now because I'm exhausted from today. winky.gif I'll post as soon as Carlyle knows! blowkiss.gif
