Ahh-Zah-Rhee-Ahh, with the pronuciation on the Rhee bit.

I spend most of my time with South Americans.  N.A.'s may pronounce it differently.

beautiful name, btw!

Edit, I imagine that my NA friends would pronounce it Ahhz-ARE-iya.  Which is equally pretty to my ears.  And she could call herself Zia, Aria or Ari, kind of catchy and hip, or another nickname if she wanted... nice name all around.

Or, uh-ZAR-yuh might be a better way to spell it. (I have a standard American accent, no strong regional dialect.)

That's exactly how I say it, and who I think of! lol

DH picked this name, and "likes it quite a bit" which is unusual for him! lol However, I think he's saying it az (short a)-uh-rye-uh

(I don't know for sure how he's saying it yet...he's out of town and we haven't talked on the phone since we came up with this name, just texted.

So, how can I spell it so that people would say it like az-uh-rye-uh?

End it with an "h"?  Maria vs. Mariah, etc.    Azariah?  Azeriah?

A-ZAH-ree-ah. With a short "a" at the start, like in Amelia.

i totally agree with adding an H at the end of it though, i'd pronounce it completely different with an H!

ay zair eeh ah

I'm originally from the South... you don't get that broader "ah" sound for "a" unless you trying to be French or Cajun. The only exception coming to mind is watermelon.

Okay, I talked to DH on the phone tonight, and he's saying Azaria like uh-zar (as in car)-e-uh

This is his favorite name, and I'm just not feeling it....because all I can think of is a man (the actor Hank Azaria) and I don't want to think of a man when I think of my daughter's name. lol

My first instinct was Uh-ZAH-ree-uh, but then I remembered the actor Hank Azaria, who I think pronounces it Uh-ZAIR-ee-uh, so I guess my answer is, "I don't know!"  ;)
