I normally add aloe juice to our green smoothies in the morning, and was doing this for about three weeks after ovulation... I stopped because we ran out ans was talking to a friend about going to the grocery store for some and she said that you shouldn't drink it during pregnancy...duh.gif I have been googling around and have found lots of conflicting information. Does anyone know anything conclusive, or did anyone drink it during pregnancy? I would love to continue drinking it occasionally, but don't want to if it is considered unsafe.

Thanks!

I was in the same situation as it helped keep me regular.  I took it for a good portion of my first trimester until I found it on the list of "herb" that were not acceptable during pregnancy.

I've had it once or twice since then will no ill effects but stopped taking it because I couldn't find any concrete evidence.  My guess is that it acts on the baby's bowels the same way it acts on ours--that's why laxatives are a no no but stool softener is ok

I know this isn't much of a help.  Hopefully someone can answer a little more concretely.
