Hey ladies. I've been MIA in freakout mode. I started spotting Sunday through today. Very light, sometimes watery, at first it was watery red, sometimes it's pinkish-red, pinkish-brown, brownish-red, brown, never too heavy. I seem to notice more after bowel movements (sorry if that's TMI). Yesterday I needed a pantiliner to catch the sporadic drops. Everyone is saying NORMAL NORMAL NORMAL but this is my 1st pregnancy and I am freaking. OWT. I have an appointment today, I guess they'll check my hormone levels. I wouldn't feel as worried if my symptoms hadn't pretty much vanished as well. To that people still say NORMAL NORMAL NORMAL but it's hard not to worry.

Oh, Gemmine. "Normal" or not, I would be freaking out, as well. I can only imagine what you're going through right now.

I hope everything ends up PERFECT. I'll be crossing my fingers and toes for you.

Thanks guys. Had a vaginal (cervical?) exam, midwife said she can see blood in the cervix but can't tell why it's there. They drew my beta numbers so I go back in tomorrow for another draw to see if the number doubled (or close to doubled) like it should or if it dropped which would indicate bad news. Still spotting, it's all brown though. I hope brown is good, considering. I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing good news tomorrow, Gemmine. I hope you aren't worrying too much. hug2.gif

Btw, I've always wondered: how do you pronounce Gemmine? Is it like Gem Mine? Like a gem mine? :)

Well, I thought I was doing a ton better from this terrible MS. (I don't feel quite right calling it hyperemesis as I'm not on a feeding tube or anything, but that is the diagnosis.) Anyway, came back with a vengeance yesterday. Couldn't even keep a sip of ginger ale down. Ended up in the hospital last night for IV fluids and meds. I'm home now and have a strict med plan for keeping on top of it. Yea! Cause I wanted more pills! Oh wait, one is a suppository... even better!

(At least I still have a sense of humor.)

I was planning on going back to work this week. Looks like I'll be out tell the end of the school year (I'm a teacher.) Well, at least I can file short term disability.

Btw, if someone could tell me I'm being an idiot, I'd appreciate it. I'm worrying that my midwife practice is going to start to hate me cause I keep bothering them. I called before I even saw them because I was so sick. (They called me in rx.) I freaked out at my first appointment when they couldn't find a heartbeat and said I needed an ultrasound to rule out ectopic. I called yesterday to see what to do about not eating or drinking (they told me to go to the hospital). And I called today to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do after getting out of the hospital. Oh, and I'm about to ask them to fill out my FMLA and disability paperwork. I'm afraid they think I'm a huge, wimpy baby and that I've bothered them a ton in just 4 weeks. I'm being crazy, right??

Sorry for the length...

Amanda, mom to dsd (16), dd (11), dd (8), and ds (born 11/12/11).

Okay. I think that is their job, so they shouldn't be mad at you. Plus I highly doubt you're the first one to call a lot. It's good that you're worried! Teachers always say there's no such thing as a "stupid" question, right?

How is everyone else doing?

My nausea gets so bad if I go more than two hours without eating. I've already gained like, 10 pounds, but there's nothing I can do about it (I feel like). If I don't eat, it makes me want to puke. And it has to be what I want or the nausea gets worse. I try my best to keep it as healthy as possible, but, when I want Chick Fil A... I get Chick Fil A... LOL. I still can't eat home cooked meat. It's really frustrating.

I also had a "friend" tell me over the weekend that I'd "let myself go". Hahahahaha. Oh, man, did I give him some words. Needless to say, we aren't friends anymore.

Three weeks until my next appointment. =D

Nicole - My nausea was like that in the beginning too, it felt like I was always eating!!  I guess just eat small portions...  I have gained 10 lbs so far, but most (8-9 lbs) of that was in the first trimester.  So maybe it will get better for you in a few weeks and you won't have to be eating 24/7 to feel normal.  lol

Amanda - I agree with Nicole.  I am sure you aren't their first to have a lot of questions/worry.  And its valid when you can't even eat/drink without getting sick, that can be dangerous if you get dehydrated.  Hopefully when you hit the second trimester the HG will settle down and you can function like a normal person again!!!!

Gemmine - I hope your beta numbers are great and that little bean is just making itself comfy in there!!  Its hard not to worry though, try to take it easy.

Sunday's spotting turned to bleeding and cramps Wednesday which turned to passing clots and tissue Thursday. Got the call Friday my hormone levels were falling. I feel like I've been grieving since Sunday, inside I knew. Thank you for your kind comments and I wish you all the best.

Hi ladies!  I just wanted to say Happy Belated Easter to everyone.

Also, I have an U/S coming up this week.  Anyone else get super nervous leading up to the U/S??  I think I've been feeling a few movements, so I know I shouldn't be super nervous... however, I'm terrified that something will be wrong.  Thursday seems so far away.

We still aren't sure about finding out the sex.  I don't want to know, DH is undecided.  We haven't had a chance to discuss it, really (we've had my MIL as a houseguest for over two months, so serious discussions are few and far between).  So for now, we've decided to have it written in a sealed envelope, and we'll decide later.

I have my 16 week (+1 day) appointment tomorrow, and then we'll schedule the ultrasound.  I think the MW said they do it around 20 weeks?  I'm not sure.  It would be awesome to not have to wait another four weeks.  We are going to find out the sex, and I'm so freakin excited.

I get a little nervous before ultrasounds and dopplers, just imagining what it would be like if they didn't find anything.

I have my ultrasound tomorrow!  I am sooo excited, and we are taking the boys to see.  I think they will get to see at the very end after the tech has gotten all of the measurements :D  (I am a tad nervous too, but trying not to let that override the excitement!!)

Yellodart, I think they do the ultrasounds around 18-21 weeks?  So maybe you won't have to wait 4 weeks!

Yellowdart - I think Liz is right, somewhere around 18-21 weeks sounds right for an U/S.  Mine will be at 18w3d.

We had the ultrasound on tuesday, and thought I would bring my boys along cause they are pretty excited about this little baby too!  But they had to wait half an hour in the waiting room while the ultrasound tech got all the measurements, then only got to come in for like 2 minutes with DH to see the baby.  So my oldest was definitely dissapointed, but he is bringing in a photocopy of the ultrasound pics for show and tell at school.  te-he.  (And we aren't finding out gender)  The baby was kicking away, waving and opening and closing its mouth during the exam, so I got to see a lot of cool stuff :D

I don't think I can afford to buy or rent a birth pool (costs about the same to buy as to rent)... so I am considering buying a kiddie pool.  Ugh don't know what to do!!!!

Liz - Yay for the great U/S!  It does stink that your kids were bored in the waiting room during the exam, but I'm sure it was still a pretty cool experience for them.  If it rates high enough for a show-and-tell event, it must have been pretty cool for them.

My U/S is today.  I'm feel much more calm about it than I did early on.  Now I'm just excited, and I feel like 11am will never get here!  We aren't finding out the sex today either - we will have it written in a sealed envelope, though, because DH still isn't sure about finding out.  He can be a bit indecisive at time, but I still love him.  :)

So there really IS a little baby in there!!  I think I'm still having a hard time believing it.  :)  The U/S went great - everything is measuring fine.  The tech could tell the sex, but she didn't tell us.  It's in a sealed envelope, though, if we want to find out later.  Such a huge relief.  And after the U/S, I'm more convinced that what I've been feeling really is the baby moving, not just gas bubbles, because the baby would move around when she was pressing on my belly and I could feel it and watch it at the same time.  So cool!
