This thread is for members of the ONE thread from the Trying to Conceive forum. Some of you have started similar threads in the DDCs but this is an all-inclusive, cross-DDC thread. We have all made connections and friendships with ladies who got BFPs before or after us so this can be a central thread for us to catch up and for those on the other side of the One thread to keep up with us!

In bold, please tell me: Name, Due Date, how long it took you to conceive and what you went through to conceive, what "number" child this will be, and anything else you would like to add.

Members:

Due August 2011

19-savah, conceived on 4th month (3rd temping), #2

25-jillybeans (Jill), took 3 months, #4, having 1st boy after 3 girls!

Due September 2011

11-LovingBaby (Elizabeth), took 7 months (charting, OV strips), #3

10-Yellowdart, tried for 5 cycles, #1

13-Nicolian (Nicole), charted for 2 cycles, #3 (#4 for DH)

23-not_telling (Jess),  took 3 cycles, #2

Happy July everyone!  LivingSky, happy projected birth month!!!

Welcome LadyScientist!  If you want a blurb by your name in the list, lemme know.

I know these aren't the most active threads, but I really like having them around.  It's nice to talk sometimes to ladies in different stages of pregnancy, to get advice from someone who's further along than me or give advice to someone a bit behind me, and just to see what I can look forward to and reminisce about the tiny bean I had a few months ago.

Also I like starting the threads so I can pick a color scheme, but I don't want to deny anyone else a chance to have the same pleasure, so when it comes around toward August if anyone else wants to take over please do so.

Good vibes to our TTC One Thread sisters - may they join us soon.

Thanks for the new thread!

Today, we were making mashed potatoes for dinner and measuring them because the pregnancy week-by week says Blobby is 5 inches long now. I took one of the too-small ones and turned to the sink to peel it, and heard the measuring tape open behind me at ass level! There's now a poll on FB for our friends to vote on whether SO is brave or stupid. when I was pregnant with my son, mom told me to get the ultrasound tech to scan my ass, because she thought there might be a twin in there... is anyone else's ass getting bigger?

Thanks, Yellowdart!

And I love this thread. It reminds me of being in the TTC forums. I honestly visit here more than I do my DDC. =)

Mummoth- I have people tell me my ass is getting bigger (It's always been big anyways), but I haven't noticed. I learned to not pay attention to it a LONGGG time ago. (It seriously is big. LOL I've always been called 'ghetto booty'.)

So, at my ultrasound yesterday, everything was normal except the right kidney. The renal pelvis was dilated. He described it as the part of the kidney that eventually connects to the urethra. He said when it's dilated in adults, it can mean kidney stones. However, Conner Dean's (That's his name! =D) kidneys are functioning fine because his amniotic fluid is normal. He said this is more common (And the most common problem found in ultrasounds, ironically!) in boys and USUALLY corrects itself, but they still have to observe it. I get another ultrasound. =D Probably two more now so they can watch it. If it doesn't fix itself by birth, they'll do an ultrasound on Conner when he comes out... And go from there. =/ Anyone heard of this? He told me not to worry about it, but of course I can't do that.

Thanks for the new thread yellowdart!! I was so psyched yesterday to wake up and realize it's JULY!

Congrats on the boy TTCCoC! I haven't heard of the kidney thing but I hope it resolves itself quickly.

AFM: Last night I had my first bout of contractions. They were all in my back and came irregularly for about 2-3 hours, then went away. It took me a while to even realize what they were. But seems like progress smile.gif

yellowdart - Thanks for the new thread!

TTCCorC - Yay for little boys!!!!  Looks like the gender prediction kit was right.  I have not heard of the kidney issue before, but I hope it straightens out on its own.  On the positive side, at least you'll get lots of pictures of baby!!

LivingSky - That's awesome that you're making progress already!

AFM - I've been in some serious pain since yesterday.  It all started Sunday night when I just could not sleep - my hips hurt, my back hurt, and I had to pee every hour (literally).  When I got up yesterday (from the couch where I finally managed to fall asleep), my hips still hurt.  As the day progressed, it moved into my back.  I spent a good part of the day on the heating pad, but still by the end of the night I could barely stand up straight and was walking like an old lady.  Last night I was at least able to sleep, and my back feels a little better, though I still can't stand up quite straight.  Last time this happened, it took a good week to get over, so I'm expecting to be walking funny for a while.  Oh, the joys of pregnancy.  :)

Oo Val, that sucks!  I definitely feel like a broken down old lady at the end of some days, and I get sore if I sit or sleep in a suboptimal position, but it goes away pretty quickly once I fix the problem.  Have you tried doing pelvic rocking?  That's where you get on your hands and knees and do back arch up/back down for a while.  It does help me stretch and relax, but I don't know if it would work for real pain.  You're a couple weeks ahead of me, so maybe you've got what I can look forward to.

TTCCoC, nice looking baby you got there!  And nice money shot.

Mummoth:  I don't think my butt's bigger, but it was pretty big to begin with.  orngbiggrin.gif

LivingSky:  Contractions!  omg.

yellowdart - I have been doing the pelvic rocking when I get home from work this week, and that seems to be helping.  My back is almost completely better, and now my hips just hurt at night, so yay!  I can deal with that.

I might have to start that pelvic rocking. My lower back has NOT been my friend this week, nor have my feet. >=O

I have my "high risk" ultrasound July 19th. Hopefully I get some 3D pictures, along with a little piece of paper that says everything is A-OKAY.

I'm smaller this week then I was last week... And two weeks ago. Weird.

Baby 006.jpg

^^^ 22 weeks.

Question, ladies. Does it annoy the !$@#%#$ out of you when people give you baby advice when you didn't ask for it? It drives me CRAZY and my goal as a mother is to keep my opinions to MYSELF unless someone asks me for them. Ugh. I had someone ask me if my doctor was concerned with my size because of how "small" my stomach is. I was like, "No. He says I'm perfect. Pregnant bellies are like snowflakes... No two are the same." And then I shot her in the face. No, just kidding about that last part. =D But I imagined it. =D

I also had people (MULTIPLE PEOPLE) tell me to rent a breast pump instead of putting it on my baby registry. I'm like, "WHY would I pay to RENT a pump if someone is going to BUY it for me as a gift?" Ugh, people are so... Ugh.

I started saying "Thanks for the unsolicited advice!" to people.... if I said it really sincere-like, they'd say "Oh you're welcome!" as it dawned on them that unsolicited means not asked for. By the time it sunk in, I'd have changed the topic :) Or it can be said in that tone you learn in retail that sends the clear message  that you mean F-you, even if what you said was "Have a nice day!"

One day I was out with DS in the stroller, when he was about 5 months old. A lady was approaching on the street and told me he was freezing, I should put more clothes on him... I didn't stop, didn't change a thing (but I was worrying about it) and less than a block down the street another lady told me he was stifling, I should take that receiving blanket off of him!! Seriously, I think people just say this stuff because they can't not comment on the baby. I'm SO glad that happened, because it was the LAST time I ever considered some random strangers advice for more than a second :p

Our oldest had kidney dilation observed during my PG and she did have some problems with it later... No big deal was made of the observation but it was mentioned--we later switched and had a homebirth so we did not follow up with US etc.  When dd was 5mos old she got sick and dehydrated, it turned out she was having UTIs caused by slow movement of urine... She spent some time on preventive antibiotics, some testing, etc.  It was pretty stressful.  Surgery was recommended but we did not end up doing it and her specialist proclaimed her recovered later.  The surgery is often done but is not always effective... Dd gets UTIs easily to this day, is at risk for further damage from scarring, and we do watch for symptoms of related problems.

TTCCorC - I totally get what you mean about being annoyed with someone saying your belly is so small.  Up until the past few weeks, I was getting that all the time.  I still get it occasionally - "I can't believe how small you are in the third trimester - are you gaining enough weight?"  Ugh, just say "congrats" and mind your business!

I get to do the gestational diabetes test this morning... yay (sarcasm).

Good luck on your GD test ValH!

Lost my mucus plug last night (or part of it, at least). I now start getting cramps/contractions if I don't drink enough water every hour or so. Makes sleeping through the night hard! But, YAY for progress! Going to get our maternity pictures done today - I'm glad baby held out long enough to get these done! Any time after today he's welcome to arrive smile.gif

LivingSky - Have fun doing your maternity pics!  We're still in the process of picking a photographer for that.  And a big YAY for progress!  So you literally could be ANY day now.  So exciting!!!

GD test today wasn't too bad - the drink tasted like a very sweet, flat Sprite.  On a positive note, I'm not anemic anymore, so I'm excited for that - guess my dietary changes worked, or the little munchkin decided he had enough iron for now.  Anyway, everything checked out fine, his head was down, all is well.  Now just more waiting.

Thanks yellowdart, sorry I was slow to pick up on the new thread. We conceived on the first "real" try and this will be our first love.gif

I'm glad to be following this thread - somehow I feel like the DDC is mostly complaining (and rightly so, because we all have a lot of yucky early pregnancy symptoms) but the TTC group was always so hopeful and upbeat! It's cool that we're all in differet stages, too.

This morning I did a prenatal yoga video for the first time and felt awesome afterwards. It had things as simple as putting your leg up on a chair, turning to one side, and breathing deeply, but it felt so, so good! I will definitely be doing this more often.

What are you ladies doing for exercise?

Exercise? I walk my dog 3-4 times a day. LOL I work one job from 7-12, have school from 1-4, then work my second job from 5-9, so I'm pretty proud of myself for getting those walks in.

LivingSky- That must be super exciting!!!

Val- It's good that his head is down already! Did the GD test wear you out? Someone told me to take the day off work when I get mine done... Maybe it was the glucose test. I don't know. Someone told me that ONE of the tests I have to take wore her out really bad and she took the day off work.

A friend of mine had her little boy yesterday... ON her due date. Rare! He's so cuteee. It made me more excited. =)

Exercise... sigh... I used to be so good at that!  In early pregnancy, I was doing several prenatal DVDs: Yoga, salsa dancing, and yoga fatburn.  I also used to walk.  More recently, life (and exhaustion) have gotten in the way.

TTCCorC - I thought the glucose test did test for GD?  Maybe I'm mistaken, I don't know.  Anyway, I didn't the 1-hour glucose test.  It didn't wear me out or anything (anymore than I am normally).  It was just drinking a gross drink and having blood drawn, no biggie.  No one ever called me, so I'm assuming I passed.  Sounds like you are staying busy - I hope you're making some time to rest in there, too!  Take care of yourself!

TTCCorC that is pretty impressive.. a lot of work and school for one day and to still have the energy to go on walks!!!  Good for you :D  lol

LivingSky - so exciting that labour could be any minute for you now!  Hope your maternity photo shoot went well and that you are able to get some rest before the big day!!

Val - Hope your results are good on the GD test.  I just started taking some iron supplements on top of my multivitamin because I have been so tired lately... like beyond exhausted.  Just took off work on sick leave for the exhaustion and pelvic/lower back issues.  I am hoping that my energy levels start to pick up now that I am no longer working graveyard shifts and taking iron.  My baby is also head down now too!

LadyScientist - I haven't done anything in terms of exercise other than cleaning the house!!  I wish I had the energy to exercise lol... not to mention I think being on my feet/walking irritates my pelvis.  But maybe the lack of exercise is affecting my energy levels too.  I should probably try some yoga, it would feel nice to stretch everything out I'm sure!

I haven't been responding much lately because my old laptop decided it wanted me to share my coffee with it.. and some of the keys on the keyboard no longer funtcion making it impossible to type out any responses that read well.  lol  Sorry I didn't respond to a few other mommas, I will be a good girl next time ;)

OH!  And my due date was moved up to Sept 11/11  :D

September 11 is my baby shower!

And I do get plenty of rest. =D I'm asleep by 11 at the latest every single night and wake up between 6 and 645 (If I want to shower). LOL Plus, if I get out of class early or off work early or something, I sneak little naps in. It's all good.

I just need to buy some better shoes. I thought my feet were going to fall off tonight. My poor dog hasn't pooped at all today and I can't bear walking another step to take him out. Poor guy. Must. Be. A. Good. Mom. LOL

TTCCorC - Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself!  And yay for the baby shower!!

Speaking of baby showers... I"m having baby shower drama this morning.  Mine is 8/13, invitations went out earlier this week.  I found out this morning that the location they had planned on actually isn't available like they thought it was.  Fantastic.  I'm a hormonal emotional mess, and can't stop crying about how everything is ruined, blah blah blah.  DH is not being terribly patient with me, and just told me I'm not throwing the shower, so stop worrying about it and let the hosts deal with it.  I can't help but feel some sort of responsibility for helping them find a new location.  My nerves are shot.
