(I apologize for the cross post.)

Hi mamas. I need some thoughts, suggestions, advice...

On Friday night I noticed some dark red blood after I went to the bathroom. I had had menstrual-type heaviness in my lower belly during the day, but nothing that had alarmed me.  Yesterday morning my temperature had dipped (I know, I know -- I should have stopped temping after I got the BFP) and there was a little more blood. Throughout the day I had some streaks of what looked like pink and and then brown CM, but not enough to need a pad. From start to finish, it was probably about a teaspoon of blood.

Given my age (39) and the earliness of the pregnancy (5.5 weeks), I assumed this was a miscarriage. But now that everything has stopped (except for a tiny bit of pinkish brown CM) by Sunday morning and my temperature went back up, I don't know what to think. Other than being constipated and gassy, I feel pretty normal. I don't have a doctor yet and am not sure if the doctor I had been planning on seeing would see me know. Would taking another HPT help?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback you might have.

For what it's worth, here is my chart:

Obviously there's no way to know for sure at this stage, but all of this sounds within the realm of normal to me. You could go to a GP and just ask to have your hCG levels checked over a 48-hr period, but if it were me, I'd probably just hang in there and be positive! Fwiw, I had an epically large bleed at 7w (like, running down my legs), and several smaller but still scary bleeds since, and I'm 17w with a healthy bean in there. Sending sticky baby vibes your way!

I had a bleed at 10 weeks and 5 days and it turned out to be from my cervix. I have two healthy babies in here and will be 18 weeks along on Wednesday. It is not a bad idea to get checked out just in case/for peace of mind, though. I agree you could start with a GP.

Mama to my twin butterfly boys, Alan and Bruce, who passed away at 22 weeks gestation (3/24/12): Forever in Our Hearts. Our rainbow baby girl, my little bud of Hope,  joined our butterfly boys and Grandma Jan 1/31/13 at 9 weeks gestation. Love you so much. Next step: triadadopt.jpg
