My period was late and i took 3 hpts.  I went to the doctor and they took an urine test and it was negative. After the doctor I was so confused I went and bought 2 digital hpts. They came out positive over the next few days.  I am waiting for blood tests results and am a nervous wreck.  Has this ever happened to anyone else??

Yes, it happened to me this time. In my case, I had a surgery that hinged on the results (no surgery if I was pregnant), so it was really stressful! The blood test came back positive, and everything has been going well since then. If you are getting positive tests at home, assume you are pregnant -- your urine could have been too diluted at the time you took the test at the doctor (it's hard to get there first thing in the morning!), the test could be not as sensitive as the ones you were taking at home, etc. Congratulations!

:) Happened here!!!

Period was 2 days late. HPT positive at home :)!!! Then negative at doctors. I made him give me a blood test.

Blood test positive! :)

The urine tests at the doctors are NO WHERE NEAR as sensitive as the ones we take at home. The ones I took were measuring 10-25 HCG and the one at the doctor was look for 100 +

:) Think there may be a babe in there Mumma :)

The doctors' urine tests are not better than your home pregnancy tests. A blood test is the only sure thing.

In reality there are problem never false positives on home pregnancy tests. If a woman gets a positive and later turns out to be not pregnant, either she read the results wrong, or she had a chemical pregnancy (i.e., early miscarriage).
